Very unpleasant customerservice and slow response, one sided, unprofessional

The transfers for our group were booked and operated efficiently and on time. The size of the vehicle was appreciated by the whole group allowing enough space for the passengers and their luggage.

Sending through the driver details and contact number was also very useful in case of any issues, though none occurred.

Had a great experience when needing an hour transfer from our villa in Mallorca to a beach club. They were right on time communicative and the bus was airconed and nice. 100% recommend to any big groups needing something like this!!!!

We worked with Edgars and Alvora to book two trips for 20 people as part of an educational trip. From receiving the quote, to planning the itinerary, to coordinating with the driver and our actual coach ride, the experience was smooth and professional. The experience with Alvoratravel was great from the beginning to the end. We arranged our Scandinavia tour with them in Denmark, Norway and Sweden. When choosing a company, our key criteria were precision, promptness, and high-quality service. After submitting a request on the website, I received a quick response from the manager with all the detailed information. In the course of further communication, they suggested booking one comfortable coach instead of several minivans, which proved to be more cost-effective and logical. They also promptly provided a full cost breakdown for the route. On the day of the event, the driver arrived precisely on time at the specified addresses and delivered the guests to the venue punctually. I would also like to note that the bus met the highest standards of comfort and safety, which was one of our key deciding factors when choosing a provider.

We recently booked a private bus transfer with Alvora Travel from Luxembourg to Dortmund, Germany, for a group of eight people, and the entire experience exceeded our expectations.

From the very beginning, the booking process was smooth and straightforward. Our contact person at Alvora Travel was incredibly responsive, helpful, and easy to communicate with, making the planning process completely stress-free.

The vehicle was spacious and perfectly suited for our group. We had more than enough room for all of our luggage while still being able to travel comfortably. This made a big difference, especially on a longer journey.

Our driver was punctual, professional, and drove safely throughout the trip. We made a stop in Cochem along the way, and he even shared some helpful sightseeing tips, which added a nice personal touch to the journey. The ride was smooth enough that our team could get some well-deserved rest, and despite an unplanned rest stop, we arrived in Dortmund almost exactly at our planned arrival time.

Overall, we had an excellent experience with Alvora Travel. Their professionalism, reliable service, comfortable vehicle, and friendly staff made for a great trip from start to finish. We would definitely consider using Alvora Travel again for any future private or chartered bus transfers and would happily recommend them to others.

Drivers; friendly, calm + comfortable driving; rating 5

Vehicles; 2 different vehicles, clean, comfortable, one vehicle had more wear and tear, like poorly functioning seat belts; rating 4 and 5

Pre-communication; friendly, OK offer, much later after accepting offer we asked whether child seats were available but that was not possible and we needed to arrange ourselves so we bought 3 and had to book 2 additional suitcases to transport them, on 1st vehicle there were 2 child seats so it is possible, unnecessary costs of €355; rating 3

Pick up and transport from Bologna airport to Miramare di Rimini went very well. It took a bit to find the driver, as we were with a group of 12 at the beginning of arrivals and the driver at the end. So a bit back and forth via WhatsApp and one person went around searching we managed to find driver.

For return travel, Alvora had quoted 10:00 as pick up time with departing time at Bologna airport being 13:55. Premise being 1.5 hrs of travel time (std travel time w/o any tolerance in case of delays as we have noticed/learned the hard way), and being there 2 hours in advance (standard airline/airport recommendation). We all live >1400 km from Rimini, so we have to also rely on recommendation made as we are not locals (something I have now learned not to rely on for the future).
The driver was there right on time, and at around 10:10 we started travel to Bologna Airport. Unfortunately congestion, due to a heavy accident at kilometre marker 57 within a road construction area, started just before kilometre marker 65, which was roughly one kilometer before exit Faenza. The driver had already started to assess situation during the drive as the heavy traffic had become visible during our drive. At the Faenza exit, the driver chose to take the congestion rather than an alternative route. I know this is a judgement, but it appeared to become a wrong one as we arrived at 12:59 at Bologna Airport. So Check-In was closed, and we missed the flight with 12 persons during holiday high time. We managed to book other flights home for group of 4 adults + 2 children the same day, and for the remaining 4 adults + 2 children the day after with an additional hotel booking. Total costs around 4k€ additionally.
First rough check learned us that our travel insurances do not cover these events, on which I e-mailed Alvora explaining in a summarized way what had happened and requested whether they had insurance coverage for it. I got a friendly e-mail requesting whether I could confirm pick up time, which I confirmed (that was for me a fact, although my feeling already anticipated that this would drive a certain “standard” denial answer).
And unfortunately indeed my given answer was used in the way I feared. In short; pick up was on time agreed, due to unforeseeable circumstances arrival time was too late and this is not covered by Alvora’s insurance and clearly described in its Terms & Conditions.
As this answer did not, in my view, do full justice to what has happened and was very one-sided, I replied after a few days of balancing whether to do or not with the story as described above, that I will likely need to take the additional 4k€ cost, and that I will write a review of my experience with Alvora with the facts as described above so that people themselves can judge whether my rating is in line with their view or not. The reply I received on it was not very appropriate, with the assertion that it is blackmailing, manipulation, and that no provider on earth can guarantee or predict an accident on the highway. And that Alvora will decide whether my posting can be considered, given the situation, plus that the Alvora’s Sales Director will personally write a response to it “so people can see the truth”.
I have replied to this that I was not blackmailing anybody, and framing it that way only feeds my disappointment. It also showed there has been ZERO fact checking with the driver. In case Alvora wants to dispute this review, I have asked and given the permission to use the WHOLE communication towards the review site so that those moderating can see the whole picture and not a one-sided and redacted story.

So with the post-communication described here above, my initial rating of 2 or 3 out of 5 stars I would have given plunged to 1 star only. Emotional reactions, assertions of blackmail or that there is an expectation that Alvora can predict accidents have never been made. No more Alvora travels for me.

TIP: please do your own math on appropriate travel time! A potential hour earlier at the airport to the 2 hr std time will save you stress and money!

Efficient, reliable and trustworthy !

I was in quite a rush to find transport, so I was really grateful for the quick reply and easy booking process. Everything was clearly communicated and very professional. The bus itself was great, and the driver was excellent! All in all, a great experience and would definitely recommend.

We used Alvora three times across a charity event we hosted in France/ Germany.

The drivers all arrived promptly, got us to our destinations safely and were very accommodating.

We used Alvora Travel for a hockey tournament in Barcelona with a group of 40 young players, and we couldn't be happier with their service.

They adapted seamlessly to last-minute changes, were always punctual and responsive, and all the drivers were incredibly friendly and professional.

We highly recommend their services without hesitation!

I have worked with Alvora Travel 3 times in the past 3 months, every single time the bus has arrived on time, with the right capacity. It is straight forward to work with the company in terms of setting up the trip. No traps, no gimmicks. Very professional too.
