We’re sorry to see this review, as it is based on a misunderstanding of the product description.
The Patterned Belcher Chain 12mm – White Gold is not sold or advertised as solid white gold. As clearly stated on the listing, it is made from a steel base metal and finished (dipped) in real white gold.
Because the item is gold-finished and not solid gold, it cannot legally carry UK gold hallmarks such as 375, 585, or 750. Under UK hallmarking law, only solid gold items are permitted to be hallmarked as gold.
At over 170 grams and priced at £207, a solid white gold chain would cost many thousands of pounds, which further confirms that the item was never represented as solid gold.
The product you received was supplied exactly as described. However, if the item is not suitable for you, we have already advised that you are welcome to return it in line with our returns policy.
We’re always happy to help and would encourage you to contact us directly so we can resolve matters fairly and accurately.
