Manic, Emotional employee
Date of Incident: 28/03/2026 Time: 4:07 PM Location: Aldi - 650 Wickham Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006
1. Incident Overview: Hostile Description: This employee photo'd, exhibited aggressive, emotionally unstable behavior that actively sought to provoke a conflict rather than resolve a simple request.
2. Behavioral Audit The experience was UN-BELEIVABLE! The Power-Trip: Despite my compliance, the employee continued to issue aggressive, feckless behavior. Even after I requested to be left alone 3 times to complete my shop, AND as I was leaving he pursued me verbally, attempting to incite an argument.
Employees High Emotional Volatility: The employee appeared to be in a state of "manic" distress—angry to the point of tearing up when I photo'd and informed him a complaint would be lodged. This is a severe breach of professional conduct; a retail environment is not a venue for employees to project their internal life-struggles onto customers.
3. My Past Reviews In ALL my Google reviews. This is ONLY MY SECOND '1 star' review. Negative reviews ARE RARE FOR ME! Majority are 5 stars. I am NOT A 'KAREN'. THIS WAS A GENUINE, AGGRESSIVE, UNPROFESIONAL employee interaction.
4. Comparative Analysis: Following this horrid experience at Aldi, I transitioned to Woolworths Spring Hill. The contrast: Woolworths Spring Hill Security/Staff: Friendly with a welcoming service. No problems ever with leaving my bike out the front
Environment: Professional, respectful and CHEERFUL! Like they were HAPPY! Great little chat with the checkout guy, another employee cheerfully guided me to stock I couldn't find. An experience that was JUST WHAT I NEEDED after the manic Aldi employee.
Result: Aldi, you lost a customer FOR LIFE! and ALL the customers in my local area that I will now feed negative feedback loops into their minds EVERY VISIT I see them using an aldi products. I will re-enforce 'cheap' off products being filled with disgusting chemicals
Woolworths Spring Hill - "VIP treatment" that restored my peace of mind that Aldi Bowen Hills employee attempted to destroy. I am SO GLAD I left instead of giving my money to Aldi.
I will NEVER go to ANY Aldi even IF it is convenient at the time due to this horrid experience. Woolworths Spring Hill customer service - 10/10 VIP treatment Aldi employee disgruntled before I even arrived - 0/10. Additional Meat Complaint: Aldi Bowen Hills meat is always off before you buy it anyway. Not worth the time or the money. Many reviews reflect Aldi Bowen Hills horrid, off meat.
Aldi Interaction Transcript: Employee "You can't bring your bike in here" Me "Oh, I've done it before. I usually fill this bag up, so It is just easier." Employee "YEAH well, you can't bring your bike in anymore". Me "Ok man. I'll leave it here" (Here being just outside the front of the store). Employee "Leave it THERE, security will take your bike". Firstly, where I was going to leave it was outside his store outside his need to speak further. THIS IS THE MOMENT he should have said "Thank you for complying. Sorry for the inconvenience. Instead. His aggressiveness escalated. Me "Yeah ok man. I'll be quick" Employee "I AM TELLING YOU, NO BIKE!" even though i said I would leave it OUTSIDE the store.. still EXTREMELY aggressive. me "You've said that man. I have agreed. Go away now please, leave me alone." Employee "I am just telling you! NO BIKE!" Me "Yeah I KNOW MAN! You've told me A FEW TIMES NOW. I HAVE HEARD YOU AND AGREED! GO AWAY NOW. You're starting to annoy me" Employee "WELL JUST SO YOU KNOW.." then I cut him off Me "OH MY GOD MAN! Don't worry bro. This will be the last time I ever shop here. You're ridiculous". Employee "Well you don't have to shop here" Me "I WON'T EVER AGAIN MAN! I will be going to WOOLWORTHS Spring Hill from now on where they treat their customers with respect. Go away now. WE ARE DONE!" Employee "YOU CAN GO THERE NOW if you want" Me "oh my god. You are an absolute joke. But Ya know what. YOU'RE RIGHT! I agree. I will not be spending money wherever you're employed" Employee "Good. Go!"
Very disappointing experience at ALDI BOX HILL NSW
Very disappointing experience at ALDI Box Hill , NSW
Every time I shop here, the self-checkout area is closed, and customers are forced to wait in long queues. When asked, staff say it’s “not busy enough,” even when lines are clearly long. This wastes a lot of time.
The store is also poorly maintained — shelves often have empty boxes, and some products are damaged or broken.
Customer service is not helpful, and management does not seem to address these ongoing issues.
I won’t be returning to this store.
My preferred supermarket
My preferred supermarket, always cheaper than Coles or Woolworths
Not really different. Or different the wrong way.
Increasingly I am disappointed with food purchases from Aldi. Their fruit often is still green and tasteless when purchased. It it ripens and then deteriorates before it can be eaten. Their processed goods like asian curries are tasteless apart from being loaded with sugar. The trend for flavouring with pepper salt and loads of sugar is bad and cheap. I bought some relish made in Africa labeled traditional style. It was so sickly sweet I haven't eaten the rest yet. Another very bad thing is the totally disposable packaging and containers. No attempt has been made to make really biodegradable packaging. Massive amounts of plastic. I really hate the way their small good are packed in all plastic and hard to open packing. One product I buy or used to buy was sliced salami. These packs are a useless size hard to open cannot be resealed. I think they are designed so the buyer cannot reseal them have to use each portion. They need to really review how they do things. I hate Coles but have started shopping more there because I can buy less processed and less plastic and choose better quality fruit.
Price Gouging at its best :(
Not only Coles or Woolies that do 'price gouging' but its actually Aldi who di it cunningly and shrewdly to unsuspecting customers. Their 700 g Dark Rye Bread I used to buy for $3.69 but as per attached photos, it was noted that they have increased to $3.89 which is $0.20 more. Just imagine how much profit they make if they sell 20,000 breads per day all over Australia ! Apparently, not only bread but there are many other day-to-day items they have increased lately under the disguise of advertising saying that they are the cheapest which were carried out by research agencies with vested interests with Aldi ;)
Aldi, you don't need false specials
I have all the major stores in close proximity. I know when I shop at Aldi that I'm buying at a reasonable price. I shop for the specials at the other stores knowing they still make profit on 50% off sales. I also love the bins in the centre of the store, there is always a surprise in there.

Very rude, impatient, unfriendly, unprofessional, unhelpful and zero customer service skill by Linda at 2,Kinross parade Clyde north Victoria 3978 Newly opened Aldi store.
She almost threw glass bottle of apple cider vinegar, while billing, and not even a sorry!!!
We were loading all our purchased products from the billing area, when she finished billing and demanded we pay immediately.
My husband politely replied please give me couple of minutes, finishing last few items loading, and I will pay promptly.
She retorted I Don’t have 2 minutes!!!.She almost locked the computer screen so we cannot tap our card.No patience,if the customer has hidden disabilities, special needs, injury, illness, old age or trainers???
Zero customer service and no empathy.
Steak pumped with water don’t buy it
I bought over 20 porterhouse steaks from Aldi for an import family gathering. The meat was pumped full of water and disgustingly hard. Never again waste your money at Aldi. Grose!!
Good but not for electronics
Good prices for groceries, catalog items are also priced really well. But would recommend staying clear of their electronic catalog items, their electronics are either just poor quality (for example, “HD video camera” made the same quality video as a phone camera from 2005, or dishwasher that can dissolve dishwasher tablets) or stop working properly and/or stop working all together.
So while most things are good, electronics seem to be a real issue and you would be better saving your money and time, you might be tempted if the price seems good or ok but you get what you pay for or you don’t get what you’re expecting
We have just got home 30 kls from Aldi…
We have just got home 30 kls from Aldi purchased a bag of white grapes put in sink to rinse and a red back spider had climbed out of bag
BEWARE - food poisoning
BEWARE! - Frozen Lobster Tails 380g = FOOD POISONING.
Score is zero
Score is zero, not 1. The staff at Aldi - Gympie store are beligerent, rude, nasty, disrespectful and ignorant. Kerryn and Janet have both berated me in front of other customers. 2 other staff members have also been nasty and mocking (i don't know their names) one actually covered their name badge! They should not be working in customer service! The way I have been treated is absolutely disgusting and unacceptable. Aldi need to get rid of these sorry excuses and introduce a code of ethics and a minimum standard when hiring.
WARNING
BIG WARNING. I had a concerning experience with the self checkouts. After scanning my items, I thought that my bill was high but thought as I had brought meat, that was why. I got home, looked at my receipt and I realised I had been charged for items that I did not purchase. I returned to Aldi Carnegie, they checked CCTV to find there was $35 of products I was charged for that weren't mine and I was blamed as I didn't check the screen before I started. I explained there was no one there before me and it wasn't on the screen when I started. They still blamed me and no apology was offered. I told a friend about this and she experienced the exact same thing at a different Aldi Southland. People, check your receipts and kick up a stink. Aldi are aware of this problem at self serve but choose to do nothing but refund WHEN you notice it. Its dodgy and it's simple GREED!
Gone to the dogs.
It appears Aldi is not "going" to the dogs, it has gone to the dogs.
I ordered two bags of Brazil nuts. 400gms. Nearly 20 bucks a throw.
So I was just about to open them an behold the bag was filled with broken "crapola".
I mean, are you serious, Aldi. The stuff was "tish"?!!!
Obviously, your people have gotten to a point that you treat us worse that the "terrible two"?!
Anyway, the Brazil nuts from Coles were five times better and only a dollar extra...I mean guys, you have to be "skitting" me?!
I'd attach a photo but TP won't let me.
Aldi shopping at the Victor Harbor…
Aldi shopping at the Victor Harbor store is mostly proving too frustrating.
You can enter the store and find the items you need are 'out of stock' and will typically stay that way for days - or up to a week (I have seen longer delays...).
I perceive, by observation, that this stores stock control 'system' is done manually and somewhat 'randomly' by the same staff that perform the checkout moving - sometimes senior staff try to do stock updates (not often enough). Suggest there is zero computerised stock management present at all ... If it does exist, I have never seen it...
That is another sore point, slow check-out times as there are zero automated checkouts. Expect delays and low stock...
I am (2026) trending more to Coles shopping for most of my grocery needs - their stock control works OK. Sigh!
ALDI HOLIDAYS, ALDI SUPERMARKETS
A great buy for groceries on a budget. Also, a huge 5 stars for ALDI HOLIDAYS which are inexpensive, 4 star accommodation, usually includes return airfares, small group tours and so many thoughtful extra inclusions on a budget ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I use lemon juice every day.
I use lemon juice every day.
So, I buy three bags of lemons for the fortnight.
Lately the lemons are getting worse.
Thick skins, and lucky to get a tablespoon of juice from one. That's insulting that the crop is not being assessed correctly by the buyers/agents for Aldi.
The buyers are not doing their job, in ensuring the quality is kept to a "reasonable" standard.
I'd roast the buyer if that was on my watch.
Just funny how I went for a position…
Just funny how I went for a position with Aldi have 30 yrs experience went through all 3 stages to get sorry we went with another candidate meaning you are too old as it comes to mind I haven’t seen any older people working at Aldi as apososed to Woolies/coles so makes sense if you old do not apply experience means nothing just age !! Thanks

Went to Aldi to buy item listed as ‘ in stock’ online.
On arrival told no stock and informed that another store nearby ( 12 km) had limited stock.
1 .1/2 hrs later arrived home without ‘in stock’ item.
Very frustrating!
Its a very good business model for Aldi but very poor experience for the customer.
Aldi Storm beer
Aldi Storm beer was 5% ALC/VOL and not a bad drop. Recently without alerting anybody it was reduced to 4.5% ALC/VOL. Usually in Australia if less alcohol is used in the beer you drink it is generally sold cheaper. However Aldi chose to sell it for the same price as its previous stronger version. Goodbye Aldi, Hello Dan Murphy.
