My brother and I were very grateful for the professional legal assistance with the property conveyancing of our property. We appreciated the expertise of Rebecca Coles the Conveyancing Executive and Billy Makin the Conveyancing Assistant during the sale of our property. It was very reassuring that we were able to contact Rebecca and Billy with any queries we had during the conveyancing of our property and both Rebecca and Billy were excellent at communicating and providing us with updates. We had various queries from the buyers solicitor's which Rebecca Coles diligently resolved and responded to. We were also grateful to Rebecca for phoning us both to discuss the Contract and Transfer for the sale of our property and she went through all the legal details with us and ensured that we were happy with everything before exchanging contracts. Billy provided us with regular updates on the day of completion which were most helpful. Thank you for providing such an excellent service.

I had a purchase with Carl and Laura and what an amazing experience that was. It literally felt like the whole thing lasted 5 seconds. They are so fast at replying. Always with give a straight answer of what is the update and every easy to talk to as well! I will highly recommend them both! Thank you so much for all your work, you have been truly amazing.

Recommended to us by another local firm. My sister-in-law has called them 4 times now (3 times today) and no-one has had the decency to call after promising they would. Business lost. The 1 star reviews are clearly correct.

I have used AFG Law on two occasions during the last 3 years and they have been great, I am gobsmacked at the negative reviews, I have not eperienced any of this.
First experience was with the Bolton office and Abigail Sunter when purchasing a flat for my elderly mum. she was very helpful in explaining everything and walking us through the process, all sorted in no time at all. The second time was when, sadly, we sold the flat when my mum passed away. Both my sister (who lives in the north of Scotland) and I were extreemly pleased with the guidance that we received from AFG Law Bury. Georgia Ottewill and Lilly Beaumont were very respectful, sensitive and supportive throughout the whole process which took much longer than it needed due, NOT to AFG Law, but Probate. The communication between us, the estate agent and AFG Law was very good. My sister has only dealt with Scottish laws (which is very diferent) when house buying and selling and she could not praise AFG Law highly enough for how they held her hand and dealt with everything. Very professional and efficient.

We used AFG Law Bolton for conveyance of our new home upon recommendation of the sales agent.

After reading all the reviews here I was worried at first.

But Rahil and his assistant Indira did really outstanding job. Efficient, accurate, helpful, professional. Rahil updated me almost immediately at each step and everything was made super clear that we can easily have a complete understanding on what’s going on and what’s next.

It took us 2 months or so from viewing to completion. I’ve been stuck with mortgage otherwise the whole process shall take a month only.

Would highly recommend, at least Rahil and his team at AFG Law Bolton is superb! Thank you.

Dishonest and deceptive
I was quoted one price but they more than doubled it after their initial work then threatened me with legal

I would highly recommend AFG Law and Carl has been amazing, very quick to get things sorted for us and kept us up to date at all times. He is extremely thorough too and explained things to us so we understood all the terminology which helped. He has gone out of his way to make us feel relaxed and happy throughout buying a new home. Carl is a credit to the company and we are very grateful indeed. There has been no stress or worry at all with anything thanks to Carl's hard work. Will definitely use again if ever needed.

This Law firm is a must avoid! customer care is not there number one concern - they are slow unreliable very rude to you on the phone when your asking a simple question.
we are into 6 month in buying with no chain and still simple things are being missed by this firm ! Redemption letter ! was missed when completion date was set for the 27/10/23

I'm not sure where these solicitors got their degree but if I was them i would reconsider my career

Do NOT recommend for first time buyers using AFG law , disrespectful and not helpful for first time buyers in anyway

AFG were recommended by the estate agents Roe & Co and I'm embarrassed to say I did no research on the company and now bitterly regret not reading the reviews as they mostly mirror my experience.
They handled the sale of our house and the purchase of another house simultaneously.
I dealt with some very personable people and had one call from Carl Fletcher but in a short space of time had to relay some of the same information to four different people.
Communication was initiated by myself with most of my calls and emails going unanswered in the last week.
Communication between AFG and Roe & Co (from whom we were buying our house) seemed to be freer and I was surprised to be told by Sue from Roe & Co that AFG were having problems contacting our Mortgage company. I emailed AFG and asked if the email regarding this matter had been mistakenly sent to Roe & Co instead of to me but they failed to reply.
On the day of completion I was assured a statement of account would be emailed to me in advance of payment from our house sale being distributed. This hasn't happened so although money was transferred to our account on the evening the sale went through I have still not received a statement with a breakdown of how they arrived at that figure.
Clearly they haven't the staff to cover the work they take on and therefore contribute to the stress and anxiety of a house move instead of making it simpler for the client.
Please read all the reviews and consider carefully before using this company. I would definitely not use them again.

Extremely poor firm, they do not care about their clients and make it clear, they don’t acknowledge complaints, please don’t waste your money, use an alternative firm who care about their clients.

Can’t reply to their comment, they DO NOT pride themselves other reviews back this up ! AFG you had your chance to resolve, my complaint was acknowledged then simply ignored and never heard a peep from you, so don’t try to make out like you’re shocked at the review and want to resolve it now it’s public and affecting you!

After reviewing their poor service, AFG Law are now unwilling to represent us if we don't remove the negative reviews... professionalism at it's best.

25/10/2023 - AFG, please stop trying to have my review taken down from Trust Pilot. Have some integrity in your actions and accept your service was terrible.

**Update ** yes you have responded on your other review platforms, bravo. Explain, why I would call you? No apologies so far, why does it require a call from me. Your firm has acted with complete disregard for my father. It speaks volumes that my fathers purchase was nearing completion and you didn’t charge him a penny for the billable hours when you couldn’t get the file over the line. Awful service, assistants can’t manage conveyancing end to end… use this example as a case study. Rebecca was unprofessional and rude as she didn’t respond well to be caught out in not working with integrity and honesty.

Also, it’s my prerogative where I post reviews. I use multiple platforms to reach as many people as possible.

Please use another solicitors. Chaotic and a stressful experience from start to finish. AFG Law don’t work for their clients, only themselves… if the work requires a little extra due diligence or time and effort don’t rely on AFG. Below average law firm with no integrity or pride in their work. Conveyancing isn’t a strength of theirs. If you’re looking for reliable, trustworthy solicitors go elsewhere.

Would not recommend, 17 completions to do in the day of our completion!
Taken on too much work by the sounds of it.
Two wrong emails sent with regards to money in error.
Mistypes on a bill.
Cost me a lot in fees. I was recommended by smoothmove and really should have done my research properly to look for a more reputable firm.
As someone that has bad anxiety the wrong emails tipped me over the edge and was definitely something that I could have really done without.
When I rang and spoke to Carl yes I was quite upset but I think if you don’t understand mental health then you struggle to understand where the other person is coming from.
In a nutshell absolutely would not recommend, do research.

To begin with they were very interested in my business, suggesting it would be a quick piece of work as it was to settle child access and logistics etc. However, the alarm bells should have been ringing when they set a flat fee for all the work. The communication was helpful at first and reassuring as I was quite stressed. From there on in it was pitiful. The letters written were strewn with grammatical errors which I had to correct. I transcribed the letters to the partner (Lauren Anderson). She repeatedly failed to call back when promising to and failed on almost all levels of achieving what i asked her to. She then stated she couldn't carry on my work and handed me over to another solicitor, whereupon i cancelled me using them. In short, amateur and unfit for purpose.

Though out the process I have been given sound, honest advice. Even when it wasn’t exactly what I thought was going to happen. That said, it was delivered honestly with a professional amount of empathy. The key for me was truth and to stay in mine.

Communication was prompt and I appreciated being met in person from the start.

Our representatives in court were very experienced, understanding and honest.

The outcome was the best I could ask for in compliance with the law and I’m glad the court saw the importance of protecting my child and myself. This outcome I believe was thanks to AFG Law and of course the will of God.

I have used AFG Law for on 3 separate occasions & can not recommend them highly enough.
I used Anita Boardman to deal with Probate & can not recommend her highly enough, it wasn’t a long process at all & was stress free which is what I needed.
I also used Dominique Oliviero & Leah Lancaster to sell & buy my new home, it literally took under 8 weeks to buy my new home, they couldn’t have done anything more.
I can not recommend this company highly enough.

We were dealing with the will of my late sister and should have done our homework prior to employing this company. Unfortunately there is very little if anything good to report. Slow, they took more than twice as long as the six months estimated in their first communication. The distribution figures were ALL miscalculated we did challenge this and they were changed. Communication really slow. Not a recommended experience.

Dealing with AFG Law for a mortgage transfer. All the financial details were already agreed prior to AFG Law becomming involved, 4 months later we are still waiting to complete. No information is ever sent, I have had to chase on each and every occasion. The previous reviews on here suggest a pattern of negative service which I can only agree with.

These Solicitors where recommended by Miller Metcalfe for the purchase of a house, the paperwork was sent for myself and my Wife to complete but there where 2 or 3 questions we weren't sure how to answer so we telephoned there Silverwell Street (Bolton) branch up today mid morning only to be informed that no staff was available to speak to but that they would ring back when there was someone available. Around 2.35pm a male member of staff did call me and after around 10 minutes of discussion it was agreed I would call in at the above offices to get the forms sorted out with the correct information and also let the staff see the documentation for proof of ID & Bank statements to prove our credit worthiness, great, no not really because they had no staff available to complete this important task until next Wednesday! I was shocked at this long delay so asked for a cancellation, I will hopefully find a Solicitor that has enough staff to give a much faster service than AFG LAW provide, waste of time, don't bother with this lot unless your not in a rush!
