I found this a thoroughly convenient way to learn and also a very cost effective way. The modules are presented in an easy to use manner and I just found the whole process very straight forward. My practical flight assessor was very helpful and friendly.

I was sceptical at first regarding the price but 3iC blew me away the course was great and I could pick it up in my own time. Pete my assessor on the practical day was brilliant. He put me at ease and I could of picked his brain for hours. Thank you 3iC I’m now fully licensed.

I choose the 3iC Online approach for two main reasons. Firstly I prefer to learn at my own pace and secondly as the course is good value compared with many of the three to five day offerings.
Everything required for submission to the CAA for a PfCO is included in the £395 plus VAT price tag. Theory course, prep of Op Manual, theory and practical tests. Advice on submission to CAA.
The online material is well presented and easy to use. Any subject matter can be easily repeated either before or after the included tests.
The instructor manages to keep most of the potentially very boring syllabus interesting. His voice (British English) is lively, engaging but not annoying. He seems to have a lot of enthusiasm for the subjects.
Revision is easy. I made notes to reinforce my learning although this is not essential. Working away on your own allows for say an hour study and then a break. I did not try to download the course to use offline. Check if this can be done if you intend to study on a train or wherever.
I have been involved in training and teaching for a lot of my working life and understand just how tiring three or more days of classroom study can be. Students miss the point because they are bored, dozing off or whatever. Maybe they don't understand and the pace is so fast the can't or don't ask for an explanation.
In my experience, some tutors are very good but most are not. 3iC online course was for me a useful tool and I saved many hundreds of pounds. My view is that many providers of PfCO course are charging far too much with 12 or more students paying over £1000 each.
3iC admin backup and organization is very good. Practical and theory assessment dates and times are flexible.
This approach to gaining PfCO suited me. A point that may be important to some is that the 3iC approach is bound to take a little longer. I've seen offerings from some providers suggesting the whole thing can be done in little as three days or more often five days.

I thoroughly enjoyed the training process with 3iC. The online course was very well structured and easy to follow and I learned so much. It was easy to complete the course in my own time. The course materials were excellent and having templates for the operations manual made it pain free to complete my own. I very much enjoyed the assessment and found the assessor’s comments very helpful. I would thoroughly recommend 3iC to anyone looking to do commercial drone training.

Could not have been any simpler. Within 3 weeks of paying the course fee I have my PfCO. At my own pace. At times to suit me. Done and dusted. (To be fair, CAA did their bit in 6 days)

If I am honest then I was slightly apprehensive about doing it online but, having now obtained my PfCO, I do not see any point in going to class-based courses. In fact, doing it online affords you the time to go back over stuff you didn't get first time around.

So long as you are comfortable flying your drone then the online course is absolutely good enough. Plenty of explanation of what you need to know.

I fully recommend 3iC. Everything was clear from the start and they helped me exactly when I needed it. The staff, personal tutor and flight assessor were all easy to get on with, knew their stuff and just made the whole thing a pleasure to do.

There isn't really anything else to say! Use 3iC and you will be absolutely fine.

I signed up to and paid up for the online PFCO course with 3IC.

Working a full time job and filming weddings on the side I had no idea how I'd fit it all in, especially over this busy summer.

However right from the start the 3IC process was very easy to digest in my own time and enabled me to do everything in bit size chunks.

The online learning was good, only downside was some of knowledge test questions wouldn't let you get the correct answer due to it not recognizing the clicks in the correct places. Frustrating but I could get round it.

The templates for the Ops and System manuals are very straightforward and I had my details entered in literally no time at all.

The online learning took me around 8 hours.

This is where 3IC then really excelled. After I'd finished the online learning and my manuals I was put in touch with an assessor really local to me, and I literally arranged my flight assessment for the following day (Mid week). Amazing! (Thanks Matt!)

After a frantic evening planning the flight and completing the required documents, I sent them back to the assessor that evening and he approved them. Ready for the following day.

My assessor in Coventry was very friendly and professional, and balanced treating the process seriously with being approachable and me feeling able to ask questions.

I passed the flight assessment and tests, and got my certificate the following day from 3IC. I submitted my application to the CAA and got my PFCO the following week. Such a speedy process!

I'm so pleased I opted to get my PFCO this way rather than a residential/multi day course. I saved so much time and this was fantastically priced in comparison.

Would highly recommend 3IC to anyone looking to obtain their PFCO, they are 100% legit and know what they're doing.

A very thorough and enjoyable experience. Lots of content to learn but was provided in an easy to manage fashion, and I was able to learn at my own pace. The practical assessment was relaxed and clear and the whole process was very satisfying.

I’ve recently completed my PfCO with 3iC, from start to finish Liz was very helpful and was always available at the end of the phone or by email.

I found completing the modules online allowed me to progress at my own speed and certainly found when I got into a routine this worked well and was very straight forward.
Writing the operations manual was well supported with good advice form both Liz and Dawn who was my assigned tutor.

When I was ready for my practical exam this was booked effortlessly, luckily my examiner was flexible and we arranged a suitable date, as described in the handout the practical went perfect with an hour for theory and approximately another hour for practical assessment.

On completion of my my flight assessment and final theory exam I applied to the CAA for my PfCO which I again obtained guidance form Liz at 3iC, she was more than happy to help, I have now received my award from the CAA which arrived within 3 weeks of applying.

I’d like to thank 3iC for all the support especially Liz and Dawn, I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a cost efficient, relaxed and hassle free way of obtaining your PfCO.

Just passed my PfCO in Scotland with 3iC and found it to be a superb experience from start to finish.

The online courseware is pitched very well, supplying all the rudimentary information required to pass the PfCO Theory Exam. I studied at my own pace and covered everything twice before booking an assessment. It is supplemented with excellent videos and real world examples to which the training lends very well. Very useful pointers are provided with regard to flying techniques. I was immediately struck by how much the course affected my train of thought when putting a drone in the air. Good practice and safety are strongly encouraged throughout the learning and will make you a better pilot.

I am a relative newcomer to drone operations and was nervous about the assessment component. However I passed with the support and encouragement of everyone involved. My assessor (an RAF instructor) provided not only a a full de-brief of my performance but was also nice enough to explain his own path and the techniques required for me to keep improving.

This review is sent having only recently completed a PfCO with 3IC using th outline platform and then ssessment by affiliated Instructor.
Having searched around for a few weeks, on recommendations I settled for online teaching as opposed to a physical instructor before me. I was a little sceptical at first but once I'd logged on and found the course content, I was immediately impressed and satisfied I'd made the right choice. Everything is extremely professional and well put together, with a clean modern look. The lessons are extremely well presented and with this style you get to pause to make notes or remind to take the lesson again, which you can do at any time. In th background you get support with questions asked through messaging. After completing the theory your then linked to a local instructor to go through the next phase of practical assessments.
This is a thoroughly professional platform and fantastic customer value. Although intense learning at times this was a great experience and I 100% recommend 3IC.

Straight 5 stars for me, the ability to access all the training online allowed me to study at my own pace and from multiple devices when on the move (Java is a little outdated and clunky but functional) Tutors, Admin staff and Assessors are extremely helpful, professional and respond quickly (Even responding at the weekends too) Special mentions to Dawn and David for putting me at ease and making what initially appeared as a complicate process straightforward and methodically worked through.

With the changes made by the CAA to the law affecting drone operation made in the last year the implications for the required changes for drone operations manual are significant and considerable.
I have just renewed my PfCO with assistance from 3iC and their knowledge and expertise made a difficult job much easier. I found the renewal notes sent out by the CAA confusing and more easily understood if you already understand them. 3iC templates takes this pain away. They have documents that they know have passed CAA scrutiny and if you use their templates word for word it would seem, providing everything else is in order the CAA rubber stamp is guaranteed. Included in the 3iC package is a very quick and efficient review of the documents you produce with their templates. It works very well.
It is however, in my opinion and experience not perfect. For example I took the complete 3iC online course for my first application (and passed first time), when I was compiling my ops manual from the templates, current at the time I queried items that were in the table of operating characteristics, that is in both the ops manual vol 1 and the systems manual volume 2, which I knew to be incorrect. I was advised that I should leave as was (ie incorrect) because other students had submitted them that way and the CAA had signed off on them. I did as advised and passed. Maybe this approach comes from the military where, in my opinion, this 3iC course emanates. This time I submitted those tables in the format I knew to be correct and passed anyway.
One other criticism is the unnecessary way 3iC have handled the CAA changes. The renewal template was essentially a blank document to be filled in from scratch, for someone updating a 3i original all that is really needed is the “delta”, which could be done on a cut and paste principle. This would have been much easier if required new text was highlighted wording in the renewal template. Some of it was, but most of it was not.
3iC don’t mention it, but maybe if you use their blank document from scratch for your renewal, you will avoid having to have serious word document formatting skills, which will arise if you adopt a cut and paste approach.
I also found some of 3iC abbreviations/definitions in their renewal template to be at variance with new CAA regulations. 3iC say their document is CAA compliant. I used my own interpretation and my documents were approved, but maybe the CCA did not read that page in my manual!

All in all 3iC were extremely helpful and can be recommended. They respond quickly and make a difficult job easier and with apparent certain success, whether it represents value for money, I am not sure. I guess that depends on how the CCA react if you submit a “bummer” without 3iC support.

What an excellent course! Easy to follow and informative. I loved that I could do it in my own time and the Assessors were approachable and friendly and talked me through any issues I had as I went along. The assessment day was nerve wracking but my assessor Matt Dutton was very professional and put me at ease.

I decided to choose 3iC for my PfCO training because of the flexibility it offered by learning at home and my own pace. Every question I had was answered promoptly and precisely. The actual assesment and exam was handled fantastically and I came away learning a lot more than was needed, which has help me in my business.
