What more can I say about 3iC they are truly remarkable! I run multiple businesses so having 3iC to help me out with all of the ongoing legislative changes that the CAA (Civil Aviation Authority) impose with regards to using my UAV commercially is a godsend. Liz the individual who I communicate with is warm, friendly; but more importantly very professional. The process is as simple as contacting 3iC via email and within the day I get all of my questions answered via a telephone call.

As somebody who has very limited time having a company like 3iC whom I can turn to, and an individual like Liz to help me with all of the above is just excellent and very much appreciated. I will certainly be using 3iC either later this year or early next year to help me convert my PFCO into a GVC qualification. Thankyou! Thankyou! Thankyou! 3iC I do not know what I would do without you guys!

I originally trained with 3iC in 2018, when I applied for my PfCO. I have been a commercial Drone Pilot since then, having completed my practical training and tests with Phantom Flight School, also in Spring 2018. Due to the rule changes, I've needed to convert to GVC to get my OA and 3iC provide the necessary conversion course to do that. It's cheaper than other provider's, but also understand's that I'm not starting from scratch with a new GVC and just need to learn the changes and refresh on the unchanged subject matters, which is always good to do.

This is about flying a drone safely, competently and within the law, not learning to fly a 777 or Typhoon Jet. 3iC strike an excellent balance with what you need to know and not crowding the student with unnecessary information. I'm also a qualified trainer and had no problems with the 3 slide packs to cover off my conversion training. The mock exam was also helpful. Liz & Andy were great with sorting out my final exam and I also appreciate the helpful advice Liz provided, her communication was excellent and very prompt. I fully recommend 3iC, after all, I returned to use them after my PfCO training!

Prior to writing this review I did contact Liz with my concerns, however they were largely ignored. The 6 month time limit for a GVC is also rather arbitrary, although due to CoVid an offer to extend this for one month was offered. I have decided not to take 3iC up on that offer as I don't want to tarnish my professional credentials by qualifying from a poor training establishment.

It is clear from the outset that a structured approach to training such as the ADDIE cycle has not been used by 3iC. This is a concern in itself but underpins why their GVC is such poor quality.

The result is some of the worst aviation training I have ever come across. So bad in fact that I decided not to continue to any sort of formal testing stage: it would have required further investment of time and money (probably by another provider).

It is widely acknowledged amongst training teams that blended learning (use of multiple techniques) is by far the most effective way to educate a practical and complex subject. It is also understood that powerpoint is a blessing and a curse: in this case the latter.

How to use the instructor notes slide (the ones you are asked to print off) has clearly not been understood and many of the slides were not proof read. There is far too much text across most of the slides and a module involving over 90 of them is simply too much. It is SO easy to do power point better than this.

"We expect our pilots to be professionals and learn themselves..." (or words to that effect) was the comment from 3iC when I pointed out that there had been no contact from the "mentor", even approaching time expiry. As a former training captain, this was a pretty eyebrow raising comment. Yes, professionals are expected to learn themselves, but there is a tacit understanding that at least some mentoring should be involved.

The classic examples of where mentoring, blended learning and correctly written slides/courseware would benefit students include guidance on how to use relevant CAP's, interpretation of navigation charts and understanding met information. All of these challenge experienced aviators, let alone the novice. Embedding videos into powerpoint is not difficult.

Then there is the "Learning Management System" - basically a portal to access the poorly designed courseware; not a proper LMS.

If I happened to be an employer searching for UAS operators, anybody with a 3iC qualification would not make it through a CV sift; their training is simply inadequate.

All in all, an entirely negative experience and I would advocate people to avoid using 3iC.

I would like to thank 3iC (In Particular Liz) for their professional, courteous and patient service and assistance in supplying the training and experience thereby gaining my combined GVC & A2 CofC. Their system allowed me to do everything at my pace (I was very busy during lockdown in my key role) The manner of the syllabus allowed me to learn quickly but retain the information and time to fully investigate the CAA CAP722 policy. I would also like to thank Andy my PFA assessor and instructor in who's vast aviation experience will certainly assist my UAS future. Overall, I have no complaints and complete praise in their methods and manner. I would also certainly advise the instruction/lesson prior to the PFA.

As my PfCO was coming up for renewal, I got in touch with 3iC again (as they had helped me so much with my PfCO the previous year). Liz had assigned herself as my tutor again and nothing was any bother to her. I completed both the A2CofC and GVC course. All documents can be checked by 3iC to ensure everything is in order for the CAA application.

My PfCO was up for renewal so came back to 3iC for help and advice. After a change in leglisation I was advised to take the GVC conversion course. 3iC were fantastic as always with thier support and help through the training and the renewal application. Special mention to Liz again who was super helpful throughout the process.

I've completed both my PFCO and A2CofC with 3iC and found their training to be extremely good in both cases. Friendly staff and very experienced - they made putting together my operations manual an absolute breeze. I would definitely recommend them as a UAV training and certification provider.

In 2018 I completed my PfCO including the flying test with 3iC and received a lot of help from the team. It lapsed at the start of the 2020 with the lockdown. Come 2021, I signed up with 3iC this time for the A2CofC course and exam. Again I was really impressed by the course. Less complex than previously but the same attention to detail.
I highly recommend 3iC as an RAE for gaining your UAV qualification.

I completed my initial UAS PfCO course with 3ic and so, a year later, when it came to applying for my Operational Authorisation and renewing my manuals, I decided to use their service. Very happy with the rapid comms and needless to say CAA were happy too.

Dealing with 3iC was effortless as always. It made our renewal super simple. Highly recommended!

After being notified of a second lockdown, the first thing I did was look for an online drone course to
1, keep me busy
2, finally get my commercial drone licence.

After a good hour searching for the right fit, I came across 3ic.
They offered a fully comprehensive online course, that I could complete at my leisure. I was sent a few hundred pages of course notes, detailing the entire procedure for obtaining my Pfco (permission for commercial operations)

After a week of hard study, and with the help of the 3iC team, I completed the online theory test.

From there I was booked in for a practical assessment with a very friendly and knowledgeable gentlemen who went through a comprehensive final exam with me, involving pre flight checks, in flight manouvres and procedures, and a post flight checklist and debrief.

Shortly after passing the exam I received my certificates and recommendation for the pfco, and 3iC once again guided me through the application process.

6 days after applying to the CAA, I received my full Pfco certification.

Anyone looking for a drone qualification, look no further than 3iC.

Cost me about £700 and all you get is some poor quality online PowerPoint presentation and a number of PDF's.
No contact from the "coach" or the company at all. Emailed them and got a response after two days.
