Great Customer service from the first original phone call. Only reason its not a 5 star is I felt there could of been a bit more communication while waiting for everything to be put in place.

Extremely disappointing service and serious confidentiality concerns

We recently used Your Mortgage People for our remortgage and unfortunately our experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

Although the remortgage eventually completed, we felt that we had to do much of the work ourselves. We were constantly chasing for updates, following up on outstanding actions, and repeating information to different members of staff. We were never informed from the outset that multiple people and departments would be involved in handling our case, which led to confusion and poor communication throughout.

Part of the process was also handled by Integra, a company used by Your Mortgage People. Unfortunately, many of the issues we experienced appeared to stem from the lack of communication and coordination between the various parties involved. As customers, we were left chasing updates and trying to establish who was responsible for different parts of the process.

One of the first issues we encountered was Samantha’s middle name being recorded incorrectly on multiple occasions, despite us correcting it several times. This resulted in unnecessary delays, additional correspondence, and avoidable stress.

We were also repeatedly asked to resend documents and information that had already been provided. It often felt as though information was not being passed correctly between departments, leaving us to complete the same tasks multiple times.

The most concerning issue was that our mortgage deeds containing confidential personal and financial information were sent to the wrong email address. After repeatedly informing the company over several days that we had not received the documents, we were eventually told they had been sent elsewhere. We consider this a serious breach of confidentiality and are extremely concerned about how our personal information was handled.

When the deeds were eventually sent to us, the document quality was poor, with print so small that our witness struggled to read them. We completed and returned the documents, only to be told they were not acceptable and had to be completed again. This was particularly frustrating as the issue arose from the documents supplied to us. We also incurred additional costs having to send documents by signed-for delivery.

Throughout the process we felt that we were doing the chasing, coordinating communication, and resolving issues ourselves, despite paying for a professional service. The overall experience caused significant frustration, inconvenience, and stress.

We have submitted a formal complaint and are currently awaiting the outcome of Your Mortgage People’s investigation. However, based on our experience, we cannot recommend their services. The repeated administrative errors, poor communication, lack of ownership of issues, and apparent mishandling of confidential information fell well below the standard we expected from a professional mortgage broker.

From start to finish the staff at Your Mortgage People were friendly and understanding. Justin and Laura in particular couldn't do enough to help us. Our mortgage completed today and we are very pleased with the service we received at every stage.

We honestly couldn’t be happier with the service we received from Your Mortgage People. From day one, they made us feel completely at ease and took the time to really understand our situation rather than just treating it like a standard case.
What stood out most to us was how approachable and patient they were. Everyone we have dealt with at Your Mortgage people have been excellent. Robert, Leigh and Jason were helpful, kind and efficient. They found a product that worked well for me (I am self employed so not always an easy task) and they constantly communicated with me letting me know what was happening. We were kept up to date through the process and they happily answered all my questions. I would highly recommend. These are the best company I have ever dealt with over my many years of being a landlord. I will definitely be using them again in the near future.

Second time using them. Clear and up-front about things. Found us what we needed and locked in a rate nice and early which avoided any nerves about potential interest rate rises between them and completion. Also helped with questions about buying and selling during the process because we were a bit spontaneous and decided to move house!
