Youngs Pub The Cherry Tree East Dulwich. Why do I need to download an app and register with a complicated process, and then the app doesn't work, or send a confirmation code and then my partner did the same and still couldn't order food. Waste of time. Food cannot be ordered. Very frustrating.
I recently visited a lovely Young's pub but was horrified to notice that the pub sign no longer had historic connections. Instead it was a bland letter in the shape of a building with absolutely no connection to the culture or historic origins of the pub. Who did this? I don't want to go to a pub and find the sign is some sort of pastel cutsie picture you will find in Ikea. Massive thumbs down 👎🏼 to Youngs for destroying romantic historic ambiance.
Excellent time this December at the Bath Cider House (a Youngs pub).
Great cider, food and atmosphere - a well run and managed pub.

After a very pleasant pint or two of Youngs Original at the Horse and Groom,East Ashling,went into the website to find out a bit more about it - well,you would struggle to find any mention of ale,without spending a bit of time digging around in the website - naively thought the actual beers may have been at the forefront!
I'm tempted to not write a review, because I don't want Youngs Hotels to become so busy that I can't get a room. But, it would be selfish of me not to share.
I've stayed a few times at The Alma in Wandsworth and on each occasion I've really enjoyed my stay. The rooms are fabulous, spacious, well equipped, very comfortable beds, wonderful staff and delicious food.
I was disappointed on a recent short trip to London that The Alma was not available for all of the nights I wanted, so I stayed instead at The Spread Eagle, also in Wandsworth. This was almost as good, however, it's the location of The Alma that gets top marks from me. Near to the railyway station and Old York Road with cafes, restaurants and coffee shops that swings it.
Any future trips to London or indeed in the south east of England will see me searching for another hotel in this small chain.
I have no connection whatsoever with Youngs, I'm just a very satisfied and happy customer. Nor have I received any form of renumeration or compensation for this review.
