I've been with xyz for last 5 years and they have been nothing short of exceptional. They will always get the best price for my needs. When the broker called she asked about…
When the broker called she asked about no claim bonus years. I had been a taxi driver for 2 years and the first year I had an accident (my car was crashed parked up in front of my house at midnight while I was sleeping) it was non fault accident. I had put down 1 year no claim bonus she said (the broker) because it was not my fault it still counts no claim bonus, I thought she knows better so she put down as 2 years no claim bonus. Now when I received the claim bonus document from the previous insurer it was showing 1 year no claim bonus also mentioned the non fault accident. They recalculated and asked me to pay more money, I ended up paying more than the previous insurer on top of that I'm stuck with device that monitors every movement of mine and I get rated. I feel I was tricked into it from them not being transparent towards me. I do not recommend this insurer

However, we do not believe your review accurately reflects the circumstances surrounding your policy and, for transparency, we feel it is important to clarify the facts.
Before your policy was placed on cover, you completed our mandatory compliance call. During this call, you were reminded of your duty to provide complete and accurate information and advised that any discrepancies identified could result in an additional premium, changes to the policy or, in some circumstances, cancellation.
During the validation of your policy, information was identified which differed from the information on which the original quotation had been based. Once this became apparent, we contacted you, explained the position and provided you with the option of paying the additional premium required by the insurer in order for your policy to remain in force. You chose to pay the additional premium and continue with the policy.
We are therefore disappointed by the suggestion that you were "tricked" or that XYZ Insurance Services Ltd was not transparent with you. We have a strict compliance process in place specifically to ensure that customers are made aware of the information on which their insurance is based and the relevant policy requirements before cover is confirmed.
You were also under no obligation to proceed with the policy if, before cover commenced, you felt that the policy or its conditions did not meet your needs.
We appreciate that having to pay an additional premium is frustrating. However, once a discrepancy is identified during the validation process, we cannot simply disregard it and are required to ensure that the insurer has the correct information.
Should you wish to discuss the matter further, please contact our Customer Services Team and we will be happy to review the circumstances with you.

I cancelled the policy same day but…
Dear XYZ Insurance Services Ltd,
Thank you for your response. I would like to clarify a few important points.
I accept that, according to your cancellation notice dated 15 June 2026, the policy remained in force until 22 June 2026. My concern is not simply the date of cancellation; it is the refund and the amount of money that has been retained.
You have now stated that “your refund has now been processed”. This is the first clear confirmation I have received that a refund has actually been processed. However, you have not stated how much has been refunded or how the amount was calculated.
I paid £700 in advance, and a further £211.89 was collected through the finance arrangement. Orchard Funding Ltd confirmed to me in writing that the £211.89 was forwarded to XYZ Insurance Services Ltd and advised me to request the refund directly from you.
Therefore, please provide:
1. The exact amount of my refund.
2. The date the refund was processed.
3. Confirmation that the £211.89 received from Orchard Funding has been included in the refund calculation.
4. A full breakdown showing the original premium, the amount charged for the period of cover, any cancellation/administration charges, and the final refund amount.
You have also stated that information provided during the quotation/compliance process differed from the information originally provided. If this was the reason for cancellation, I request that you clearly identify what specific information you believe was incorrect, rather than making a general statement.
I have retained the policy documents, cancellation notice, payment records, correspondence with your company and the written confirmation from Orchard Funding regarding the £211.89.
I welcome your confirmation that the refund has now been processed. I will therefore wait for the stated four working days for the refund to reach my account. However, I still require the exact refund amount and a full calculation explaining how it was arrived at.
I will update this review once the refund has been received and the matter has been fully explained.

As with all insurance policies, it is the policyholder's responsibility to ensure that the information provided is accurate and complete.
During the quotation and compliance process, information later came to light which differed from the details originally provided. As soon as this became apparent, we contacted you to explain the situation and offered you the option of paying an additional premium so that your policy could remain in force. You chose not to accept this option, and the policy was subsequently cancelled in accordance with the insurer's requirements.
For clarity, your policy was not cancelled on the same day. Cover remained in force for over seven days before the policy was cancelled, and your refund has now been processed. Depending on your bank, refunds can take up to four working days to appear in your account.
While we appreciate that this outcome was understandably disappointing, our team kept you informed throughout the process and did everything possible to explain the options available.

All charges applied were in accordance with the terms and conditions that were disclosed and accepted before the policy was purchased.
With regard to your complaint, we can confirm that it was acknowledged within the required five working days, in line with our Complaints Procedure. A copy of this procedure was provided to you and is also available on our website. Your complaint remains under investigation, and we will provide our final response within the timescales set out in our complaints process.
