I'm writing to thank my rep, Martin, and the whole union. I would recommend Yourmate to anyone.

Before finding Yourmate, I knew nothing about unions. I was desperate and signed up to the first name Google gave me. I didn't realise that many unions won't support you if you haven't been a long-term member, or if your issue started before joining.

When I found that out, I felt foolish, stuck, and completely alone.

Then I found Yourmate.

The relief I felt when Claire explained that you represent members from day one stays with me. I cried. Someone was finally going to fight my corner.

Martin has been more than exceptional. He listens, he understands, and speaking with him feels like talking to someone who genuinely cares. We worked through everything—my concerns, what I needed, what to expect, how things could go.

Before Martin got involved, my employer had been aggressive and dismissive, speaking to me as if I didn't matter. Having Martin at the meeting changed everything. He stepped in when they tried to trap me with certain questions, and he challenged them directly when they repeated themselves or tried to steer the conversation unfairly. Watching him hold his ground—and seeing the dynamic shift with the HR manager and director—gave me the confidence to stand up for myself.

Every conversation with Martin felt like relief from the anxiety I had been carrying.

It’s so sad that I lost my case with my organization,and Martin Cheetham was my representative,an organization who doesn’t care about staff wellbeing or health status .am going through depression right now. and presently pregnant as well ,both the representative and the organization choose 14th of this month for hearing but unfortunately no one said anything .so bn a black African one has to just maintain his or her distance,I will respect no one should contact me anymore further ,because not like anything was done at the first place anyways. kindly respect my present state.
