We recently had a garden room built by Your Extra Space, and the experience was really positive from start to finish. From the first meeting to the final finish, the whole process was professional and well organised.

Martin visited our home at the start of the project and was very helpful. He really took the time to understand what we wanted to achieve with the space we had in the garden and helped shape a solution that met both our vision and our budget. He also shared ideas and different solutions based on his experience, along with photos of completed projects, which helped us visualise what was possible and make confident decisions about the design. Before starting on site also provided a 3D design of what the room would look like, which also helped us to change items around on the outside.

From the appointment Monika then managed the project brilliantly. She coordinated all of the site teams, organised deliveries, and kept everything running smoothly. Communication was excellent throughout via a WhatsApp group, so we were always kept informed of progress, delivery dates and next steps. We were concerned about the electrics and how this would be installed. Their electricians did a great job on installed and concealing the cable to the garden room.

The site teams were equally impressive. They arrived on time every day, worked efficiently, and kept everything clean and tidy. Each stage of the build was completed on schedule, which made the whole process seamless. They also worked closely with our separate contractor who was installing a wood burner, ensuring everything was properly coordinated with the roof installation and flooring.

The finished garden room is fantastic and exactly what we hoped for. The craftsmanship, organisation, and customer care shown by the entire Your Extra Space team were outstanding.

I recently had a garden room built by Your Extra Space to use as both an office and a gym, and I couldn’t be happier with the result! The team were fantastic, really engaged and professional throughout, and they constantly made sure everything was built exactly to my requirements.

Their price was very competitive, and the service was really comprehensive, they took care of everything, including the windows, electricity connection, and underfloor heating.

Communication was easy too — we had a WhatsApp group for updates and photos, which made things simple while I was working from home.

Another big plus was that Your Extra Space have a physical presence in some garden centres, so we were able to see their work in person before deciding. It really helped us feel confident about the quality and design.

Overall, a great experience — I’d definitely recommend them to anyone thinking about adding a garden room!

One thing I'd suggest if I was to use their services it get the painting added to the quote as that was pain in the butt.

Great studio efficiently built over the course of a week. Martin and the team worked with me on a specific requirement and created a great space for my family to use as a home gym. Would recommend them if you're considering a garden studio.

I regret ever using YourExtraSpace. What should have been a simple garden room, which they promised would be finished in 3 to 4 weeks, dragged on for 5 months of stress, delays and constant chasing. There was no project manager, 11 different workers rotated through the job and major defects were left, including faulty electric, plumbing, and a mis-laid waste pipe.

They lied and said planning permission was in place and continued building when it wasn’t. Michael or Martin did not attend site to inspect. We are not builders and could not verify whether the work was safe or compliant.

The electrics were only fixed after I raised serious concerns about the supply feeding the garden. I had to pay an independent electrician to inspect it, and he confirmed the installation was shoddy and dangerous. Only after I challenged them did YourExtraSpace correct the work.

Faulty plumbing caused two major leaks which resulted in thousands of pounds of damage. Our brand new flooring had to be replaced, our brand new sofa bed, internet router and doors were ruined, and we had to wait weeks for the room to dry out before it could be repaired. Then it leaked again, causing the same damage all over again. We later discovered the hot water tank had not been installed correctly and was fitted without an overflow. The tank has since broken, leaving us with no hot water in the garden room. The whole experience has been nothing but stress.

When we sought help, YourExtraSpace refused because we hadn’t paid the final invoice, despite the fact that the invoice was withheld only pending verification of the retrospective planning permission, which was entirely reasonable as refusal would have left us liable for substantial costs. Their stance meant we were left to absorb the costs of repairing the damage, rectifying faulty plumbing, and replacing the flooring, sofa bed, internet router and doors ourselves.

We also requested the Building Regulations Completion Certificate, and they said we must pay first to receive it. We reluctantly offered to settle the invoice in person at their office, on the clear condition that we would receive the certificate in hand at the same time. Despite this reasonable offer, they have not responded, and we still have no certificate. In my view, it appears there is no certificate, as none has been produced despite repeated requests.

We fulfilled every step of the payments on time when asked. In my opinion, the company has cash flow issues, which is why the delays, excuses and poor workmanship occurred.

I am a fair person, and I will say the build itself looks good. Out of the 11 tradespeople there were some skilled individuals, but when it came to plumbing and electrics they were not properly qualified and could not provide the promised certifications. There were also many other errors that we had to point out ourselves and demand be corrected.

Poor communication, no accountability, and no professionalism. I strongly advise avoiding this company. Yes, it seems they have some good reviews, but please consider how close you are to their office so you can challenge them face to face. Being in London, that has been extremely difficult for us. I would recommend your extra space for anyone that wants an outside room, they we're very reasonable on price, dedicated to completing the project to the time lines given, with the site teams working to 8pm and weekends when required
The site team were very polite and communicated with me on any site issues that occurred
Monika (Project Manager) and Martin(Sales) stayed in touch while the build took place until completion and once completed a bottle of wine and some chocolates were sent through the post as a thank you which was a nice touch

What can I say. It is really simple decision to be made when I turned up their showroom after get quotation. YES. Go ahead! Just exactly like the company name. Your Extra Space. Just 5 weeks,even include Easter break. Amazing transformation. They know what customer is thinking. Even more. They changed for me from 4 payments to 5. Make me more comfortable. The project was processed smoothly. From the price to the quality. Today 100% completely and 100% successful. 100% achieved and 100%
One thing I would like mention to the potential clients. They might reply you massage a bit late. But please don't panic like me. I can't fault the company. They've been great from start to finish. Even if there are small delays their communications are good and transparent, so I feel up to date with what's happening. They helped us to design our small garden cabin, offering us advice as we went. They were flexible and willing to make changes when needed. The guys who did the work worked like daemons in the coldest of Januarys, arriving at 8 am every day with temperatures as low as -6. I'm very happy with the cabin and have recommended Yourextraspace to at two other friends who are considering a garden cabin.

We wanted a beautiful garden room, but we didn’t want the stress or the risk of shoddy workmanship or a never-ending project….and Your Extra Space delivered in spades ! The build finishes were fantastic and the whole experience was a dream from start to finish. Monika set up a WhatsApp group to coordinate the work and kept us informed at all times. The ground-works team arrived early and the concrete slab was down and finished the next day. The structural team arrived again early and within a couple of days the walls were up. We soon found that the work rate stayed high when we kept the teams supplied with hot drinks and snacks, Peter…you know who you are…!
When the roof went on and the cladding was added, we began to see our dreams realised. If you want true value-for-money without compromise on quality, Your Extra Space can’t be beaten. Happy to recommend.
