I had to write this review because I find the situation really worring. A few days ago I tried to purchase a litre of gin at a Duty Free Shop at Heathrow airport and was told by the assistant that no Duty Free alcohol was allowed into Australia. I told her I was a fairly frequent traveller and had never heard this before so it must be a very new rule. She told me she had been doing the job for 19 years and it had always been like this and she had never sold alcohol to Australian's. She said the most that Australians could bring into the country was 100 mls. She told me if I bought the gin she would write on the packet " customer would not listen". My bag had been stolen during the trip and
I didn't have a phone to google " alcohol allowance Australia" so I gave up and didn't buy the gin. Of course you can bring 2.25 litres in so that lady has been doing her job wrong for 19 years !!!

Gill at Gatwick north terminal helped us with purchase of sunglasses. Absolutely brilliant service. Took her time helping my husband choose the best sunglasses to suit his face & just couldnt do enough.

Azra at Manchester duty free has just made waiting for a delayed flight so much more pleasant! She's helped me try some great skincare - my brand loyalty is up for grabs since boycotting Estée Lauder brands - and even had a perfume suggestion to top off the glow up. She's nailed it, and Lancome can thank her for my future purchases.
Wrong Packaging
Service at Heathrow T5 was OK, although I was a little put out by having to use a self-scan checkout. As staff member put my purchase - a bottle of gin - into a sealed bag and I left.
When I returned to the UK, I was stopped by security in Greece and told that I would have to check in my hand baggage as the gin was in a black plastic bag and European regulations only allow clear plastic bags.
There were no warning or advisory notes about this in the shop at Heathrow and I consider that they should not be using processes which are not acceptable in all airports, particularly European ones.
Order through Reserve And Collect
Made an order through Reserve And Collect for 130+ pounds. Wanted to make a gift. Received damaged packaging, which apparently was opened many times and was lying in the farthest corners for months. On the box with powder there are many fingerprints of other people. It is not very pleasant to take into your hands a hygiene product that was owned by unknown people before you, it is unknown what they held in these hands before. The second package is simply dented. The other two packages are normal. If you like to buy used cosmetics with other people's fingerprints, at the price of new, then use the services of the Reserve And Collect service In the store World Duty Free Stansted

Rude lady called Manjit at duty free Heathrow terminal 3
I was served today, 4/7/25, at The duty-free Heathrow terminal 3 by a lady called Manjit at 17.41, her attitude was rude and unprofessional. On getting to the Chanel counter, no one was there, so I looked at the product that looked like a Chanel No. 5 ( favourite perfume) sliding off the paper sleeve (not the sellophane). She appeared from nowhere with the words “you should not do that” in a rude and sharp voice. I told her that was not helpful and rude that I have worked in retail in the past and not what is expected of an employee, she first blame it on tiredness and when I said it wasn't good enough an excuse, she continued to try to educate me telling me how she has worked many years from age of 16 and that she was 60 years. She does need training in customer care. “Manjit, the customer is the heart of a business” Stop making excuses for rudeness!

Exceptional Service from World Duty Free Customer Service.
I purchased a pair of sunglasses from the Duty Free Shop in Cardiff Airport. They were a bad design and I contacted Gucci who made the glasses and they refused to do anything about it.
I contacted World Duty Free Customer Service and they were absolutely amazing. At first they thought they were out of warranty, but the lady I spoke to, Jag, rang me back the following day to say that they were in warranty, so I was able to make a claim. She was so helpful and polite, nothing was too much trouble. She talked me through the return process and said they would be in touch as soon as they received the glasses. I sent them back recorded delivery and I had an email the next day, saying they had received them and they would refund the cost.
A few days later, the purchase price of the glasses, plus the cost of the postage was back on my credit card.
What an amazing service ! I can’t thank you all enough.

World Duty Free Stansted overcharging
Purchased 200 Marlboro Red cigarettes for a friend, from WDF Stansted on 23 Feb 25. As a non-smoker, i had no idea of the cost. WDF charged me €87. The friend refused to buy them from me, and told me i'd been 'overcharged' (to put it mildly) at that price, and that they were much cheaper at almost every other Duty Free airport or country worldwide. Take my advice - don't buy Duty Free cigarettes at WDF Stansted, to avoid gross overcharging.

I have just tried to pre-order zero alcohol gin as I have done previously for collection pre-flight. It seems that this option is no longer available which is very irritating and unfair to those of us who cannot drink alcohol on holiday.

Christabel,she served me on self scan on 21 February 2025 she was a African lady who was not professional at all. She was talking to her fellow colleagues saying how horrible her job is in 2 other stores at Birmingham airport. She did not seem happy a very miserable and not happy to help me rudely pointing fingers. My point as a costumer is I fly quite a lot from Birmingham airport every time I travel with BHX her behaviour gets more worse and non professional. I am surprised how world duty free has employed someone like her who hates her job. I could have been a mystery customer. I am very disappointed on every visit. I hope my message will get through to the right person. Thanks.

Bad counter working
Hi ! I was in the London Gatwick airport. and had some chocolate, drinks from duty free. My bags were with me and I was rushing . Unfortunately I didn’t see some lady was waiting on the queue. Because there was lots of counter empty . I was gonna pass but there was lady stopped to me and I was happy with this . But lady was not nice who is working there . I think she said you can’t pass the queue , this is England .i didn’t understand why you say like that things to your customers instead of been nice .
