Worktop arrived wrapped in only a thin layer of plastic and was damaged in many places.
The damage was discovered by kitchen fitter on day of fitting. He was able to partially fit the worktop by cutting off the worse, but not all, of the damage.
I contacted Worktop City by post (as I do not have access to a computer on a regular basis.) After a few weeks had passed with no reply, I contacted them by email.
I was told no letter had been received and it was now too late for them to do anything. I emailed back explaining clearly it was not my fault the letter had got lost and regardless of the amount of time passed the worktop had still arrived damaged. I also explained I was not looking for a full refund as I had chosen to have part of the worktop fitted, I simply needed an extra metre to make up the amount I was short due to the damage.
Three emails later and I am still waiting..............
I would not recommend this company.

Ordered from worktop city after receiving many samples to ensure I was happy with my choice. Promptly emailed back to confirm order. Phone call following day to arrange delivery. Chose my preferred date. Our road it tight for lorrys. Delivery driver walked up road to my house and weighed up his options. Managed to squeeze his truck through. Driver was very polite indeed. As a one man delivery team to keep their prices low on worktops I was more than happy to help unload. Would be helpful if sack-barrows were kept onboard lorry just incase truck couldn't get through. Overall it has been a hassle free smooth transaction and delivery. Weldone Worktop City.

I had an initial bad experience with Worktop City and gave a poor one star review. A director of the company contacted me directly to explain the situation - basically they had tried to use a supplier/courier from Swindon that did not perform. Worktop City have now bent over backwards to rectify the situation.
I have changed my review accordingly in anticipation of a successful outcome. Watch this space as I hope to increase my rating still further.
Trustpilot has been most useful both for me and, I believe, Worktop City.

Avoid these people. Awful service! I purchased two four meter lengths of worktop. Before ordering I phoned Worktop City to confirm when they could deliver. They confirmed a delivery date and I placed my order only to receive a call to say they couldn't deliver on that day! They rearranged delivery for a different day.

On the morning the delivery I received a call from the driver to say they'd deliver in an hour and asked if I knew it was curbside delivery. At no point was this stated at the time of purchase. It only said 'a able person to help'. I asked if the driver would help with the delivery to the door as she said they were not insured to go in the house. She agreed to this.

An hour later I received a call from a rather giggily driver to say she couldn't get the large lorry into my road so she'd parked down the road (different road down a steep hill). The driver then pushed the four meter lengths of worktop from the lorry for the one person needed to 'help' with the delivery to carry them up the road into another road and to the correct house. The driver did not get off the lorry, perhaps she wasn't insured to get off it!!!

I sent a message to Worktop City to inform them of the situation and my displeasure. To date (4 weeks later) they've not responded.

In this day and age what kind of company delivers such a large and heavy item in this way??? It's cruel and unacceptable.

Cowboys. When I was disappointed with worktops & asked to return it, the guy shouted out me. Yes, shouted. I didn't pretend it was faulty or damaged, I just wasn't happy with the textured finish - expected to have a delivery charge to collect them...instead of hearing "no problem, we can arrange a collection but unfortunately there is a 25% restocking fee" I had "WE CAN'T JUST GO AROUND PICKING UP WORKTOPS COZ YOU DON'T LIKE THEM!!" I had to pretend through gritted teeth to be sickly sweet as I was told on another phone call when I chased up if they had spoken to the supplier ref collection dates that "I'm going to put the phone down in a minute and you won't get your refund at all". Wow. After 7 (yes 7!) calls and around 5wks from start to finish, I finally got all of my refund which wasn't fully done in one go, and yes, they charged me 2 x delivery fees (one each way) and 25% of the order. FYI I called Formica Axiom, it's not the suppliers that charge that it's them, and they weren't happy to hear about their conduct either.
There only seemed to be two men there, both pretty young, and if I had to place money on it brothers, the younger of which was the rude one. But that part is just my opinion.
The only plus side is they were cheap, but they messed the delivery up 1st time and were super rude, so you get what you pay for....
The one star on Trustpilot reads "Bad - unacceptable experience, unreasonable and rude conduct". Totally sums up these guys!
PS - The refund was from another internet company "weloveworktops" hmmm trading under two names huh??! So watch out for that one too!

I would recommend worktop city. They have good selection of worktops and the service is professional.

The good
Competitive prices and a focus on worktops makes doing business relatively easy. You can actually speak to someone if need be.

Room for improvement
The last time I ordered from these guys was during the Olympics in London. They phoned me and arranged a special delivery for an additional £60 charge as couriers where avoiding the area. Which i understood In the event the roads in west London were empty, so the courier company had an easy journey.. However the guy that delivered the goods would not assist the builder in taking the work tops up a flight of stairs. having paid additional money really for nothing this last part of the service let the whole transaction down. I am hoping this will not happen again.
