Wickes - Plumstead Anmeldelser 

Plumstead is my local wickes store and has great friendly staff who are always very helpful when I’m placing delivery orders several times a week. I am a trade pro member and find wickes the cheapest place to shop for most materials it’s helps that the store is always stocked and tidy. Great experience all round

Great availability and great prices! Everytime I go in the shelves are full and the staff are helpful especially the staff on the checkout, makes my shopping much easier and won’t go anywhere else!

I purchased 32mm Floplast waste pipe and SW elbows this morning from the Plumstead branch. I cut the pipe to go through the external wall to connect to stack.
I put the elbow on and guess what, it wobbled about.
Tried the pipe on basin trap and it only went in 15mm.
Pipe only measured 30mm. Took it back and showed them and their reply was it was push fit pipe (it didn't say push fit on the lable).
Refused to replace the pipe as it had been cut.
32mm pipe is 32mm no matter what fittings.
DON'T TREAT ME LIKE AN IDIOT!!!!

I do not enjoy writing negative reviews however, this was the worst customer experience I have endured and my complaint to the customer services team around a month ago is still ignored so Wickes didn't give me another option. The project to fit a bathroom and kitchen ran into excessive additional finishing costs which are not made clear at the start, one of the sales agents made a disparaging comment about the items being "the [swear] you need to include to make a sale" which I unintentionally overheard from a phone call discussing my order which was on loudspeaker, this was immediately after I had committed to pay Wickes a substantial amount of money. There was a multitude of errors with the order, missing items, additional items I did not order, incorrect items, the list is large. The toilet cistern broke after two weeks and it took over a month to finally get someone to fix because the contractor and Wickes could not agree on the costs to fix this, the product is under warranty but if you want it to be fixed you can either pay yourself and get someone else to do it or wait months for them to resolve it internally. This was during a time when my elderly parents were staying at my home with one bathroom. The construction waste was lying outside my home for around 3 weeks longer than it should have been because my phone number wasn't provided to the collection service so they could not enter the property, this like a lot of other things I had to call and resolve the issue because dealing with the Wickes customer service is like dealing with a never ending web of people who do not communicate with each other. The initial toilet seat broke after two weeks, after a month of waiting for another one to be installed this has also broken after 2 weeks so again, I organized this and paid out of my pocket the extra because it just takes too long to deal with customer service, the quality of the items is very poor. The quartz order for my kitchen was incorrect which took another month to resolve, myself through phone calls and emails direct with the provider. The fridge was not delivered on time because my address details were incorrect on the order which I had to resolve myself by calling the fridge company because most of the time these issues are ignored by Wickes. My kitchen is still not complete after about 4 months. The bathroom is complete, but the things keep breaking anyway. I received several automated texts throughout asking me to respond YES if I needed to talk with someone from customer service which I did multiple times, no one calls back they leave you to figure out how to complete your bathroom and kitchen installation while they are happy to charge you for it. There is a lack of responsibility because everything is done through contractors and if there is a problem, which there certainly will be, no one wants to take responsibility. I had had some quotes prior to going with Wickes from companies which provide and install in-house which seemed more expensive at the time but in hindsight it would not have been that much more and would have been much better. The amount of time I have wasted on the phone trying to resolve mistakes and get this done is an absolute disgrace. Shockingly bad overall experience, would never recommend.

We had a great experience with our Kitchen Renovation and we’re so glad we made the decision to go with Wickes. Most of that is due to the fact we were assigned Kasey as our installer. He was brilliant. He arrived everyday at 8 am and worked through the day until past 5pm so we could see what was happening each day. He project managed everything using his great team who also all arrived on time and worked so hard. Kasey would tell us of any issues and give ideas about how to sort them. He was very innovative. The kitchen was finished on time (10 days was quoted and that’s what it was) and is stunning. We kept in touch with our Designer George throughout the process and he sorted a couple of issues we had very quickly. We are very happy with the quality of our kitchen

My father in law came in for some Knauf Pro Roll Max Plaster and received amazing customer service from James, he really helped and went above and beyond so that he could find the particular product as he had already been to two different stores. Thank you for your help, he was over the moon and doesn't use technology so asked if we could write the review on his behalf!

Terrible experience with Wickes customer service in general, kitchen design person ( George ) and branch manager ( Damien Hallett ) at the Plumstead branch.
I needed a new kitchen so I went into the Plumstead branch of Wickes to make an appointment for a kitchen designer to come to my house to help me design the kitchen.
The earliest appointment I could have at my convenience as well, was Friday the 14th of February at 5:30 pm, The girl who served me said that George will call you on the day to make sure that the appointment can still go ahead so on Friday I waited up until 3 o’clock before I rang the branch and said can you please confirm that my appointment can still go ahead as I’ve not had a phone call as promised, I wasn’t speaking to George himself but a man said yes he will be with you at 5.30, so after work I went home and got ready and prepared for my appointment, 5.30 came and went , no call to let me know he was running late so at 6 o clock I rang the branch to ask if he was still coming, a girl answered and said well he is not here so he must be on his way.
The Plumstead branch is 20 minutes away from my house in busy traffic because it’s only 2.2 miles away and in busy traffic at 5.30pm you can bearly stay in third gear because of all of the stopping and starting you have to do.
So 6.15pm comes and I’ve still not received a call from Wickes all day so I ring them again and the same girl answered, this time I ask her to ring him and ask if he is still coming, so she puts me on hold and when she comes back to me she says, George said he has had a minor accident and will have to cancel and re-book for another time, and that was that , it was the only thing he could of said, if I was a kitchen planner on my way to a customer’s house and had got into a minor accident in my working time , I would of called my branch manager and said can you please call the customer and let them know that I can’t come and why???
The next morning Saturday the 15th of February I ring the branch and ask to speak to the manager and I want to put in a complaint, so I speak to ( Damien Hallett ) I tell him that I have a complaint about what happened yesterday to me on Valentine’s Day, about not receiving a phone call during the day to see if the appointment could still go ahead for both of us ,me and George and that I had to ring the branch .
I went on to say that I waited until 6 o’clock before I rang the branch only to be told by a young girl that George has left the building and he must be on his way to me , so I carried on waiting to 6.15 to which I then called the branch again and asked if she could ring him and ask him what is going on ,I was then told that George had been involved in a minor accident and that the appointment was cancelled and that he would have to rebook with me.
The manager said “Oh I hope George Hasn’t written his car off and is okay, I said but why couldn’t he have contacted me to tell me that he wasn’t coming? The manager replied? Well if I had written my car off I wouldn’t have called you either ,I said George has told the girl at work that he had a minor accident that doesn’t sound to me like he’s strapped up in an ambulance on life support and he can’t use his hands or his phone .
So without knowing whether George did or didn’t have a accident the manager was not prepared to give me a apology, so I won’t be using Wickes anymore and I have now booked a appointment with Howdens kitchen, I can 100% guarantee that I will receive a better service from them, because the service I have just received from the Wickes in Plumstead would be enough to make anyone run in the opposite direction, it was shocking and disgraceful, never again bye Wickes I will gladly spend my money elsewhere.

The cheerful assistant named Jomes at this branch was both knowledgeable and courteous ensuring that all items I needed were located and even transferred to my car each time I purchased .

Excellent local Wickes! We’ve been here A LOT recently, often several times a day 🤣 and it always has what we need. The staff are always really friendly, helpful and knowledgable - special shout out to Jackie who is a ray of sunshine!

George Whelan was extremely helpful when we chose and ordered our kitchen, he went above and beyond to make sure we were completely happy before we left the store.

George is very kind and respectful man .
He welcome me nicely and he asked me if l want cup of tea with friendly atmosphere.
He shown me around to chose the type of design l want.George allowed me to ask questions and he to his time to answer me accordingly.
He took his time to explain the details of the products am going to purchase.

Came in to store the other day. Needed some help finding interior paint. Was approached by a very friendly, kind and helpful colleague by the name of G. She guided me through what I needed, gave me some extra tips and advice. Would definitely recommend going back again.

As a pensioner the staff were very helpful and offered to carry the large amount of timber to my car. Thanks you staff for your help, I have back problems and will definitely be coming back soon.

Lovely store. This isn’t my local store but I recently had to travel to Plumstead to collect an item needed that same
Day. Was a lovely well laid out store and easy to find your way around. The staff are very knowledgeable and approachable too.

I recently visited Wickes and tried to use a discount code I had taken a screenshot of from the app. Unfortunately, the network at the store is terrible, so I couldn’t load the app directly. Despite having used screenshots in the past without issue, the staff member at the till, Jamie, refused to scan it. His refusal was not only unhelpful but was delivered with a rude and disrespectful attitude, which made the whole experience frustrating. As a loyal customer who has used this method before, I’m disappointed by this unnecessary and unprofessional behavior. Wickes should ensure their staff are trained to handle these situations with more understanding and courtesy.

Went there with my wife looking for flooring at the plumstead branch amazing customer service from a lady called g made life easy with helping with the measurements and with the flooring products we were looking for thankyou so much excellent service awesome 👌
