Jake was very easy to deal with, and kitchen ordered for a good price. Would buy from again!

Despite some initial logistics issues around a very large order of concrete tiles, I was fortunate enough to deal with the Operations Manager, Karl.
He patiently sorted through the issues, took time to check things and has resolved everything very satisfactorily. Well done Wickes!

Went to look st kitchens today and had no idea what i was doing. Daz at Wicks was so helpful in helping us put together what we needed and we could see this on a picture he created. It was an informative and pleasant experience and i would recommend them. Thank you Daz. Much appreciated.

In store service was great, attentive, and considerate. However, once the initial deposit was paid, little to no response, had to chase for dates, fitters, and now no further forward after 3 months.

I visited Wickes Nottingham today, to source a new kitchen, Jake, a Design Consultant was brilliant, he understood my requirements, budget and most of all provided the experience and expertise I needed. Thank you Jake, your time and attention to detail was much appreciated.

I am only on step one of the journey, so am awaiting the disaster that follows.

Handed over the deposit for a bathroom with fitting mid-July. Got an email from Wickes at start of August saying fitter will be in touch within two weeks.

3 weeks later email Wickes customer service as no contact from fitter- no response
Contact the designer, still had his number he said he would chase it up - still no response from the fitter
Contacted the designer again - he arranged a new fitter and said they would be in touch - two weeks later still no response.
Contact the designer a 3rd time - no response
Contacted customer services who said they would contact the fitter and call me back - neither the fitter or customer services called back.

I am noticing a pattern. We put a provisional date of 12th October for the work to start - I will be amazed at this point if that date is met.

Appears to be we will take your money and then you wait until someone can be bothered to do the job - hardly a full service.

Get the feeling that if you don't persistently chase this company, they take your money and let the job sit there forever, never to be done.

I have bought 2 kitchens and 3 bathrooms through him in the past 5 years in two Wickes branches he has worked at and they have all been top quality and just what we wanted. We had a Wickes installation every time and the fitters have been fantastic and managed our projects perfectly. We are so pleased with our latest kitchen and would highly recommend Wickes and Jake especially to everyone! Thank you!

I would like to add to my review that although I got a reply asking for more details and ref: number I have still not had a reply to my review and after reading other reviews it seems like it’s a normal answer they send to EVERYBODY I spent over £2000 for order might as well have just got a budget doors and drawers AVOID WICKES IF YOU CAN Very disappointed in the service we got from your Nottingham branch also the quality of the product i spent over £2000 on replacement kitchen doors and draws of your higher range they said it would be 10/12 days delivery so as a pensioner I arranged for a fitter to be ready to fit eventually received shipment nearly 4 weeks and was told because I added oven spacer 3 days after original purchase it threw original order out so they had to reorder I could not get a straight answer off anyone I admit I did get a bit irate on the phone and got a call back off Jake who told me in so many words not to come back in the shop as I would be refused service because I upset a member of staff I did ask him to put her on the phone which he did and apologise and said I was sorry as she got the back end of my frustration and she understood when products arrived the order was wrong with a damaged door and 1 door wrong size I asked if it could be delivered to the shop to pick up and that was agreed approximately 4 days after there was a delivery to my house. Since being fitted now about 3 weeks I have noticed one of the draw fronts has a airline crack and some small chips on the edge of the doors as for the kick boards Jake said he could work out how many was needed got 2 but he did not take into account the shape of the kitchen so ended up with 2 fitted and not the 3 because off cuts are not long enough I have always used WICKES for most things but after this experience would not use again.I would also like to add my wife rang and got passed to Claire the manager who was very abrupt and not helpful at all ? Jake could not confirm what had happened to our order she asked about cancellation and he said (well that’s probably the best thing to do but can not cancel until we have received shipment) and he would have to check his diary to see when he was available to sort a refund.I am usually an easy going person who does not complain but I feel I must this time.

All went very smoothly. Our designer Jake was very knowledgeable, approachable, and patient. We would definitely recommend his services.

initially, the experience went well, the designer visited and took notes to complete his design. we accepted the installation (£12000 + £1600 for "specialist work") and moved on. once we got home we realised he had added on stuff we hadn't spoken about, for example a robe hook, shower basket, and toilet roll holder that were on the pricier end of the spectrum, not to mention the delivery was £97.5!

until I found another installer that could do everything plus paint job for less than the installation cost. I tried to contact Wickes to cancel the entire project and was redirected 3 times, turned out I had to call the designer as he was the only one able to do the cancellation. meanwhile, one of the guys I had called had an extremely terrible attitude, using phrases such as "well, guess what, I have a full diary". it seemed that they were very quick to take payment and finalise a project, but cancelling it was extremely awkward.

we ended up cancelling but decided to still purchase the products with the designer in store. he suggested he retain some of the initial deposit to pay for the products, which sounded smart as then we wouldnt have any outgoing transactions for the day, but he only retained a small amount which resulted in us having to do a refund for the rest, plus 2 new transactions, which made it very complicated.

once we looked over the receipts, something didnt seem to add up and we were short of about £150, which mr designer didnt want to accept, constantly trying plug in the gap with what he "thought" it was.

already when we had gone in for the cancellation and reorder, his attitude was way off, we had scheduled a meeting at 3pm, but he was busy talking to another customer until about 3:15 - very unprofessional.

when we also mentioned that we would not be paying almost £100 for delivery, he didnt seem too happy, and kept reiterating that we wouldnt get it in time, blah blah.

the refund once again was done in three parts, which is exactly what we didnt want, and the order done with the designers programme was unable to be refunded then, so I had to leave the matter with him because apparently only the manager was able to refund an order because she had a certain key, so I left the store without the receipt and without a refund. the designer assured us that he would email us by the end of the day to confirm the refund but didnt.

now were checking everything through, turns out he didnt refund everything, left a door architrave which ended up charging us for delivery anyways. I dont know why he would do that because we were very stern we wanted everything cancelled.

story is still going on, as im still waiting for other parts of the refund.

overall a terrible, complex experience. they seem eager to help you purchase, and keep trying to add costly items, but once you want a refund, they cannot for so and so reasons.

Jake is a great guy, explained everything to us step by step we felt at ease with him from start to finish.

Amazing site manger, she is so knowalagable, helpful and on top of all activities.

The store manager and staff at Wickes are fantastic and helped me get a hedge trimmer from another store that was outside of the delivery area. Prior to that, I bought some garden equipment and Wickes offered great value for money. I appreciate all they have done for me and am definitely going back.

Jake was fantastic throughout the whole kitchen design process. He struck exactly the right balance between offering his professional expertise and genuinely listening to what I wanted as a customer. I never felt pressured - instead, he took the time to understand my needs and helped shape them into a design that works beautifully. He made what could have been a stressful decision making process genuinely enjoyable and pleasurable from start to finish. I’d highly recommend Jake to anyone planning a new kitchen.
