Lily in Wickes Letchworth gave great service with a smile, helping load four heavy bags of chipped bark into my car

I called Letchworth today to see if they had a particular item, Lily answered and offered to help, thank goodness, because she was polite, helpful and offered to go and check if they had stock on the shelf, a moment or two later she came back and said that they have one left and it was reduced to clear. Lily said that she will put it behind the till for me, I thanked her and said I would come along in twenty minutes to collect. I came into store and met Lily. A more helpful, smiling, go above and beyond, brilliant young woman I couldn't have wished to have met. Lily you are an absolute and total credit to your company and it was a pleasure to have met you. I have no doubt you are destined for great things. Thank you.

The product was in store at the offer it suggested online. I was helped to load, unload and was served by the same person. Lily was helpful, knowledgeable and very pleasant to deal with. Nothing to be negative about. Thank you.

We had ordered online and when the delivery came one of the items was missing. However, the next day Ciaran phoned to ask how the delivery was and when I informed him that one of the items was missing he brought it round himself within the half hour. He went above and beyond to help and we are very grateful.

We had a truly terrible experience with Wickes and would strongly advise against using them for bathroom installations. The installer (ABL) they sent was completely unprofessional and got every aspect of the job wrong. If you get assigned this fitter you need to refuse them. Instead of focusing on fixing the problems and supporting us as customers, Wickes were extremely slow to respond and spent months arguing with us while trying to deliver the bare minimum.

In the end, we had to find our own independent fitter with a solid reputation to put things right. What should have been a straightforward process turned into a 7½-month ordeal where we were left without a complete bathroom. We finally resolved the issue after using our credit card provider and the FHIO to help represent our case.

I have told everyone to AVOID Wickes for any type of installation job! Make sure you pay on a credit card (so you have chargeback / section 75 options) or go on a payment plan so you don’t pay in full up front. Keep records and documentation of everything!

The store is well stocked and we find everything we need there. We've started using Wickes as our first point of call now instead of B&Q.
I want to particularly say thank you to Jordan who has been very friendly and helpful. It's good to see great customer service and someone who enjoys their job.

My dad ordered a kitchen from Wickes in Letchworth Feb 2025 and works commenced in April. The fitter took out my dad’s kitchen and left him with no basic facilities for at least 4 weeks
My dad kept getting texts from the fitter with excuses of why he couldn’t come. My dad wasn’t well and had been diagnosed with asbestos cancer, bowel cancer and blood cancer he was very frail and breathing was very difficult so getting around wasn’t easy for him. My dad’s neighbours hadn’t seen my dad for a couple days and went round to check on him an ambulance was called and he was taken into hospital. He was diagnosed with severe dehydration and an infection. I went round to my dads house and was in total shock to see how he had been living…he had a little microwave by the settee, it would of been hard for him to get around as there were kitchen boxes all around and all the kitchen ware from his old kitchen stacked up in his living room. I contacted Wickes and told them about my dad being left like this and the fact that he has had no sink or any basic facilities in the kitchen for at least 4 weeks, Their reply to this was “Well he had a sink in his bathroom!” So Wickes believe it’s ok to leave an 87 year old man without any facilities to make himself a drink or food as he has a bathroom!! My dad sadly passed away May bank holiday weekend and never got to see his kitchen - it’s now Tuesday 26th August and we still have no kitchen as the bits that have been done was so poorly fitted the whole thing needs to be done again a couple of examples - quartz work top not fitted correctly one side sits on sink edge other side hangs over, cupboards fitted poorly one panel upside down, all the others need to be realigned the list is so long. We finally had a visit from Wickes after numerous telephone calls and emails and we managed to get a copy of their report which clearly shows poor workmanship and have agreed to put things right. That was 4 weeks ago and still waiting for my dads kitchen to be done, they say they are looking for a contractor to do the works! Please tell us Wickes how long does it take to find us a fitter?
I would strongly advise anyone thinking of buying a kitchen from Wickes just remember if they can leave an elderly man (who paid a substantial amount of money for his kitchen) with no kitchen facilities for 4 weeks maybe they are not the company to buy one from because as soon as they have your money your not classed as a customer anymore - your a nuisance!!
I have a copy of their full report and even had workman of my own on site who could of done the work that needed doing but Wickes have refused to pay for this….so here I am left with no fully functioning kitchen! I will get in touch with local papers/radio stations and anybody that might be able to help me as I am sure they will be shocked to see how this company left my dad because if he was alive today he would still be without a kitchen that he paid, I might add in full!

My dad ordered kitchen on 19.2.25 and paid in full the same day by debit card.

I phoned up because it was only showing 1 item in stock. I spoke to Natalia, who was very helpful, physically checked the stock and then put it aside so I could come and pick it up. So unusual to deal with someone so helpful these days.

visited your store in Letchworth and was served by a young lady named Jess. She was polite, warm, and extremely helpful. I mentioned that I had spent over £200 on paint that week, and she suggested I get a trade card. Not only did she explain the benefits, but she also took the time to help me set it up.
Jess is a fantastic ambassador for your company, and you should be very proud to have her on your team. Great customer service like this makes all the difference!

I reached the head of the checkout queue. No wallet! Never mind, checkout Lisa cheerfully took over. She established that I had a smartphone and guided me through a really good process for paying for the goods beside the till. Basically, ordering my bits online with Click and Collect. Simple! I left with a smile. And my bits.

After trying to sort out an issue on line, I decided to visit our local store in Letchworth. After talking to the Manger Jordan for two mins the issue was sorted and I will now continue buying from the store and not online. So much nice talking to a human who understands the issues and cares about his customer service.

I had an issue with some mixed paint and, despite there being a large element of ‘user error’, I had the paint swapped out all very reasonably and efficiently. Jordan on the front desk could not have been more pleasant and helpful - thank you.
