Wickes - Chippenham Anmeldelser 

I contacted Wickes about replacement windows and was guided towards what I needed. Very friendly and helpful customer service.

We have recently purchased a kitchen from Wickes. We dealt throughout with Wayne Wright at the Chippenham branch. From start to end he has been outstanding. He has helped us through the whole process, planning, kitchen selection and then linking in with us thru the delivery & installation side. If I was in business offering the services that Wickes offer, Wayne would most definitely feature on my staff. Thank you very much for a 5 star experience.

Unbelievably disappointing experience, made worse by the complete lack of support from customer services in resolving installation issues. After a full bathroom refit, we have been left with a bath we cannot use, a hole in the wall where an extractor fan should be and no shower screen. Because Wickes has removed the cost of these items from our final bill, they now claim none of this is their responsibility.
We paid for — and agreed to — a full bathroom installation. Wickes are ignoring this and every response from their customer services team simply repeats that these issues are now ours to deal with. Wickes seem perfectly happy to leave customers with an unusable bath/shower after an £8,000 bathroom job.
We chose Wickes for peace of mind, using their design service and fittings selected by them and their recommended fitters to install the bathroom. The work began on 5th May and took four full weeks. Before Wickes started work the plumbing in the bathroom worked perfectly.
As the fitter had trouble connecting the waste pipe of the Wickes chosen bath to our waste pipe (because the new bath is lower that the old one), they put in a new small waste pipe to drain outside to a gutter drain and plumbed the sink into that as well. This drain was not checked or tested before this and it can’t cope with the water from the bath/shower. The bath and basin should have been plumbed into the existing waste pipe to the sewer. The existing extractor fan was removed by the fitter, then no electrician arrived to fit the new one - so that was just abandoned. The shower screen chosen by the Wickes designer would not fit on the bath, so that part of the work was also abandoned - despite the fact that part of a window recess was boxed in to accommodate the shower screen. Wickes have removed the charges on our bill for the fan install and shower screen but actually we wanted these installed.
We have asked Wickes to send someone to inspect the work, and they refuse. Their only response is that we can take the matter to the ombudsman — a process that will take months. After spending £8,000, we expected a bathroom to be proud of, not one we can only look at because the bath/shower cannot be used.
Unexpected issues can happen, but a reputable company works with the customer to resolve them. Customers who trusted you with thousands of pounds should not be left with a bathroom where the bath is unusable.

Wayne was friendly and explained everything on the home consultation. No pressure from him and all options given.

Spoke to Nathan regarding my kitchen needs and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and helped with all my queries and questions

Kerri was very helpful with the design and planning of our kitchen. She visited our home to see what she had to plan for and then spent time with us at the Chippenham site to ensure we had everything we wanted for our new kitchen.

I went to Wickes as they have a great offer on top soil at the moment.
The store was clean and tidy. Top soil was easy to find and a member of staff was more than happy to help me to the car.

I went into store with a question surrounding paints, the store manager Nathan was very hands on and helpful and was able to assist me with my question in addition I met another colleague called Daniel who was very efficient on the forklift as I needed patio slabs

Kerry at the Chippenham store provided a great design for our kitchen.
Andy the fitter was very professional, even though there were a couple of issues early on. The issues were due to the delay in delivering some of the kitchen items. Overall we are very happy with the final result.

Edited to add: After receiving the comment below from asking for details, yet again they have not actually responded which mirrors the install experience.

We recently had a bathroom renovation project carried out through Wickes, complete disaster from start to finish mainly due to design errors and poor coordination and incomplete deliveries. The project was supposed to be complete within two weeks, but took over two months - with the collection of installation waste only being organised after having to serve notice under the Consumer Rights Act after being run around in circles for over three weeks, far outside of the quoted three to five days.
Overall quality is nothing special, sharp edges were present on the newly installed radiator and this was water under the bridge to the call centre.
Every step of the way Wickes did not offer any sense of apology or accountability for errors caused by themselves, instead the call centre was consistently rude and defensive.
After escalating complaints through their processes, they offer a meagre compensation deal which does not reflect the content of the complaint.

Again, this store always provides! Went in to grab a few DIY bits, the store was so neat and tidy easy to find!!

Spot on A+++ great service helpful with all my needs

Went to B&Q and couldn’t get out there quick enough… AGAIN. Staff are there to work for minimum wage and very miserable. Go to Wickes and it’s clear that everyone wants to not just work but to go that extra mile especially Hayley. Looked like she had a lot on her plate but that didn’t matter as her customer first mindset kicked in and helped me with a lot that I needed. Branch manager should be very proud. First class Wickes

Seriously poor customer service and a forthright sales assistant (Jan) pretending to be the Duty Manager because she has worked there for 18 years.
I requested a product and was informed that it was in stock before I made a special trip to collect the product (the sales assistant was advised of this). Unfortunately the sales assistant did not check the product correctly and when I arrived there we discovered that major parts of the product were missing. All they could do was provide a very insincere apology qualified by "what do you expect...." as if they had done nothing wrong.....!
