Wickes - Barnstaple Anmeldelser 37

Ordered my nine bags of bark and weed killer and a pot of ready made cement on the 29th/5/2026 I had my confirmation and also then I had a delivery slot for the 30th /5/2026 11 am to 3 pm actually turned up this. 31/5/2026 at about 14:15 ? Loads of excuses vehicle broke down but the vehicle should’ve turned up at Wickes Barnstaple am on the 30th to load but didn’t turn up until 17:30 to load the staff at Wickes Barnstable kept me informed of what was going on sorry it was down so late to the courier  CITY SPRINT 

Ordered 13 bags of compost that were due to be delivered on 29 May. Nothing arrived and no phone call as promised. Checked the system today and it stated that there had been a problem and to contact the store that I did. They were next to useless and agreed it hadn't been delivered and said their courier doesn't let them know why it wasn't delivered and the member of staff obviously had no intention of chasing them up. I made it clear I needed the delivery for a project this weekend and again he couldn't care less and said the best he could do was to deliver it next Wednesday (5 days late!). I checked again this evening on their couriers website that now says they were at my address at 16.23 and then back at the store at 16.33. As I live over 20 miles from the store if they can get back to the store in 10 minutes get them a job in Formula 1. Somebody is lying!!
I have used Wickes a lot over the years without issues but this experience has been appalling with a couldn't care less attitude and less than truthful courier staff. Why can't it be delivered tomorrow as I know they have all the stuff I want available in store and you would have a reasonably happy customer, leave it to Wednesday and you have a very unhappy customer?
Tried calling the national number to get some help, it rang and rang for ages until I gave up. Sums up Wickes attitude to their customers on this occasion.

Zac was incredibly patient and helpful whilst trying to source us some wood for panelling. This wonderful young man went above and beyond customer service to help us. He is a credit to the store and certainly knows customer service. Give this amazing young man a pay rise . X

Our designer Janice was infinitely patient and really knowledgeable. She offered some really useful suggestions and solutions as part of the design process. We were really happy with the outcome and felt fully informed to make a decision.

Myself and my husband met with Sophie today in Barnstaple to get advice on designing our new kitchen. She was fantastic, so helpful and knowledgeable about all of the products and easy to talk to. We placed an order, very happy

I visited the Barnstaple store last week to enquire about help with materials to use for the scenery making for our village pantomime. Filled in an application form. Today I was able to see Lydia in the store and collect £100 worth of items to use. Our charity volunteers are really grateful for the support we have had...the panto is in March..busy, busy now...

Tom and all the staff cannot do enough for i would recommend this place .

I visited the store today, I couldn’t find what i was looking for. I was directed to what a needed and given se great advice. I’m sure i’ll be back on store soon. 😁

The men who were working the New Years day shift in the Barnstaple branch were creepy. They watched my wife and daughter go to the toilet and proceeded to report this back to their colleagues, it was creepy and not a nice atmosphere. They weren't aware that I was with them so I heard what they said. The older members of staff didn't bring the younger man into line, it was not a nice atmosphere for women and unfortunately put a bad mark against this firm

I still have not had my bathroom fixed. I have not had a date for them to come and fix it. They have sent me one bit around the bath told me to choose tiles which I did ,but I have still not had the tiles this has been going on and I’ve not been able to use my bathroom for seven months now They’ve asked me to get quotes. I got quotes. They then took so long to get back to me, then they said I had to get more quotes because the tiles I originally had are out of stock, but I can’t get anyone to come back to give me quotes because Wicks took so long to get back to me the first time The companies have lost interest in me. I have told Wick I want them to come and fix my bathroom, but this is still not happened and I have not had a date of when they can fix it. I am a single parent and I need my bathroom which I paid very good money for .This is why we should not use big companies because you do not get the customer care you should do 😡so please everyone do not use wicks and make sure you go to local family companies.

Sophie was great. She arrived on time and we discussed my kitchen needs and requirements. I am looking forward to seeing my kitchen design.

Paid £205 for some architrave,skirting boards and 3sheets of hardboard for a bathroom job,one sheet of hardboard turned up 4 hours after the time I received a txt saying its next on the delivery,I thought B&Q was bad but this experience takes the biscuit big time,I can promise I will never ever use wickes again,I’ve never witnessed such utter stupidity before in my life….AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Colleague was very helpful assisting me to find the items that I wanted, took me to area that he thought it would be in to ensure I got what I needed when he wasn't 100% sure where it was, and directed me to lines that he knew the location of. Made visit simple.

I would just like to personally thank Matt at the Barnstaple store for his help this afternoon.
I first asked Matt about where the drill accessories where ( even though he was busy he still came and helped) Matt said the drill that I had was perfectly fine but an impact drill would be perfect. I looked and you currently didn't have the Wicks one and the others were more expensive then I could afford.
I proceeded to the till where Matt was now. He went out the back and picked up the combie drill, then cleaned it as it was full of dust. I told Matt the impact drill was out of stock he then went out the back and said that the Einhell was a better range and had two impact drill anymore the price was £99 instead of £156. Absolute bargain.
Matt was very helpful and didn't make me feel stupid by asking questions which I have had in the past from another very well know DIY business.
All the staff at Barnstaple Wicks need a huge well done and thank you as they all work so hard and are always busy.

Called today for some decking boards.
The yard man was great, really friendly and helpful.

We had a expensive kitchen floor supplied and fitted by wickes, we have tried all ways to get a site manager to look at the floor over the last year with very little luck! In 4 different areas of the kitchen/utility the slats have lifted, it's getting worse, the issue is 1 slat had not been clicked into place and it's messing up the rest of the floor over time, my dog cut her paw pad on one of the lifted slats and we can not go bare foot, I have sent several emails, made numerous phone calls still with no luck! I had a site visit twice the first time I was called to a emergency but did not have a phone number to call to cancel, the 2nd site visit, I was in, she arrived and just stood at the door (seen on ring doorbell camera) she did not knock as my dogs would have barked, she did not call my mobile, she stood for couple mins and left, I've tried making a complaint once again no response, we are furious that we have spent hard earned money on this expensive, poorly fitted flooring!

On visiting Barnstaple, we decided to check out this store, it was tom that helped us find what we were looking for, ( purchase made). genuinely helpful and polite, also gave us some great places to visit during our stay here, thanks Tom, top gentleman.

Please let Carls boss know that he is very reliable, excellent at his job, his attention to detail is spot on, nothing is too difficult for him, has amazing customer care and support, would have him here anytime.

Tom at the Barnstaple store was absolutely brilliant. We came into the store desperately needing expert advice and assistance and he rescued us. He was friendly and knowledgeable and so helpful. We cannot rate him more highly
