Very organised and helpful team, both from Wickes and the fitters from Red Dragon. Simon from Red Dragon was always available for help and the fitters were thoughtful and hard working. They did a great job and offered helpful suggestions.

I had 10 days work done in bathroom and kitchen. I booked a break away to escape and the timing was perfect for return. I walked in to a new home. All so well done. My neighbours tell me it was quiet. All rubbish is collected.
I feel so safe too. I certainly recommend Red Dragon builders. And thank you to Wickes.

Just had my utility room designed by Luke, he has worked really hard to help me design my perfect room. Really professional and so patient despite me being indecisive and making lots of changes! Highly recommend!!!!

The Bathroom fitters consulted me regularly to make sure that what I wanted was delivered. They were meticulously in producing the finished product.

The designer had his own fixed opinions of what we wanted. The design was well short on our requirements. He also wanted a quick.decision as we were informed prices were increasing. There was so much lack.of thought in the design. Another supplier listened to what we wanted. Listened to our design ideas and did not ignore us. Not surprisingly, the alternative supplier got the contract. Better design, better.communication and he actually listened. Interestingly, we have a similar experience at the same store in 2010. Another alternative supplier came.up.with a much better design for our then kitchen in our previous property, better quality units and a much nicer looking kitchen than Wickea offered us then. This contract was.not about price. It was about a product we wanted. A product that met our needs for the next 20 years. Wickes.did.not meet the brief. We paid more for a far higher quality kitchen, one with professional.appliances and a kitchen designer that listened to our requirements. Quality is about meeting customer requirements. Wickes were way off the mark and despite the salesman's arrogance and focus on his.commision, we went for a hugely better experience elsewhere.

My experience with Wickes’ bathroom design and installation service has been a disaster—misleading sales promises, shocking fulfilment failures, and appalling customer service. The only saving grace was Red Dragon, the third-party installers, who were professional, hardworking, and went above and beyond despite the chaos Wickes created.

Deceptive Pricing & Hidden Costs

When I ordered my bathroom, I was assured by the designer that the £5,000–£6,000 I paid upfront for installation covered everything except for two minor known costs:
• A new consumer unit for the electrics.
• A stud wall, estimated at around £200.

However, when Simon from Red Dragon conducted a site survey, he flagged several necessary works that Wickes had completely failed to account for, meaning the true cost was several thousand pounds higher. These were legitimate and unavoidable costs for the installation, and Simon was completely transparent about them. The issue here is entirely on Wickes, who misled me into thinking everything was already accounted for.

Chaotic Delivery & Missing/Wrong Items

Then came the nightmare of deliveries. Instead of a single scheduled delivery, items arrived in batches over four days from multiple couriers, making it incredibly difficult to track what I had received. When Red Dragon arrived to begin installation, they discovered that almost nothing was correct:
• No toilet (but I received three cisterns).
• A random toilet seat I never ordered.
• A sink and pedestal that were not what I selected.
• No vanity unit.
• Missing fittings for the radiator, flush plate, sink plug, hand shower—the list goes on.

This meant that, despite already paying for these items in my original order, I had to personally purchase replacements out of my own pocket just to keep the installation on track. I effectively paid twice for some of the items Wickes failed to deliver.

Customer Service Failures

Wickes’ customer service only made matters worse. I initially spoke with Jimmy, who promised to resolve everything—then promptly went on leave without making any notes on my account. After chasing multiple times, I finally reached Doug, who was actually helpful and managed to correct most of the issues. However, I am still waiting for the correct sink and plug, and this project has dragged on far longer than necessary.

Red Dragon: The Only Positive Experience

Despite the terrible designs and incorrect specifications provided by Wickes, Red Dragon’s team did everything they could to salvage the situation. They worked with me to reorganise the layout, helped me source missing materials, and generally went the extra mile to ensure the bathroom turned out as well as possible. If not for them, this would have been a complete disaster.

Final Verdict

I will never order a bathroom from Wickes again. Their design service was a joke, their sales process was misleading, their fulfilment was a disaster, and their customer service was unreliable at best.

The only positives:
• Doug from customer service was helpful (eventually).
• Red Dragon were outstanding and saved this project from catastrophe.

If you do choose Wickes, be prepared for unexpected extra costs, incorrect deliveries, and a complete lack of accountability. Or better yet, go elsewhere.

Kitchen design and supply - Paul has been amazing and so informative and helpful from his initial visit to our house to designing the kitchen with us and then seeing it through to delivery.
We have now just gone back to see Paul to start work on our utility room.

had a problem with my flooring in kitchen complained and Simon Thomas from Red Dragon home improvements sent one of his team Kieron and man and wife team to completely replace the floor
first class team work by couple who came from Romania to work in England cannot fault their work ethic flooring now really nice and all units put back excellent work thank you team and Simon.

We have had a lot of problems with an en-suite for several years and finally decided to sort it out. Paul came round to measure and help me understand what could be done and how best to deal with it, and he made the whole process so easy. Paul and his team are excellent and highly recommended.

Had our en-suite bathroom designed by Wickes Andover and installed by Red Dragon Home Improvements. The design process was straightforward and there was good communications by both Wickes and Red Dragon ahead of the installation date.

When it came to the installation, Simon and the Red Dragon team were brilliant. They arrived on the Monday morning and were tidied up and finished by Thursday evening. The install team were proactive and worked around any issues that came up, kept us informed throughout and made sure the install met with what we wanted. At the end of it all we have a lovely new en-suite bathroom. Great experience and would be happy to recommend Red Dragon and use them again for any home improvement works.

I have visited many branches, but its always a pleasure when dealing with Andover staff compared to other branches and other retailers. People are friendly and welcoming, ready to smile and help.

This review applies to fitting and customer service only. Work started on kitchen 16 December 2021. Fitter left before Christmas to go on holiday leaving me with no sink or cooker. Came back and "finished" kitchen. Extremely displeased with it. A new (excellent) fitter came and completely replaced everything, including tiling. Several items included on order were not needed and despite messages to and from Head Office and Andover have still not had a refund for them. Am at my wits end about what to do next.

Any problems I was informed straight away, and sorted quickly, the tradesmen where smartly dressed and keep things clean

We decided to upgrade our bathroom this year, we went in to Wickes to arrange a design appointment.
Paul came round to view our bathroom and made a plan for us, taking in our requirements that we needed. He was fantastic throughout the whole process wasn’t pushy neither. He even gave us advice and ideas down to the little details with what we could do.
We did get stuck with a few bits and pieces along the way, but he was fantastic helping us solve them.
We cannot recommend this guy enough. He is polite, friendly and professional. He is absolutely brilliant and we had an A star experience.

A while back I purchased a Einhell garden strimmer from wicks ..all good quite please with it ...until I returned to buy some replacement blades looked on the Einhell display stand couldn't see any replacement blades so I ask at the counter...apparently wicks happy to sell the machines but if you want the blades you have to shop somewhere else not happy.
