I am just getting into crafting and was struggling with cutting paper with intricate shapes with the current craft scissors I had so I had a search online and Whiteley came up! After reading the reviews and looking at their long history I felt like they were trustworthy and reliable for me to purchase from them! I was a bit overwhelmed with the choice in scissors for paper crafts they had so I contacted them via Instagram and they were helpful in recommending which scissors would work best for me. This only reassured me more that I was making the right decision purchasing scissors from them and to exceed my expectations further the scissors are amazing! My fingers tend to hurt from using other craft scissors for long periods of time whilst crafting - not anymore! Thank you Whiteley!

Ignore emails and do not reply to telephone messages. Knowone answer the phone. Had to use my bank to get through to these people on my behalf.

I recently purchased 2 pocket knives one for myself and another as a gift for my brother. The blade of the knife I have kept has broken off at the pivot joint rendering it useless.
Just heard from their customer services. New knife on the way.

Update: new knife arrived today as promised.

I bought a pair of these scissors a few years ago and I love them, they are so good to handle my fabric barely moves with the sharpness which has retained over the last couple of years. I tend to use William Whitely and sons scissors more so than all the others I have, as they are so easy to handle, stay as sharp as the day they were made, and lovely to look at. A beautiful pair of scissors which will last generations. I don't recall the exact date of buying them but have put an approximate.

I have previously bought a scissor set and the kitchen scissors. I was pleased with the quality of both ( as an ex hairdresser I know scissors)

I purchased the lock knife, just a small knife but a perfect gift for my gamekeeper friend. It had a small blemish, trivial really and if it had been for myself I would not have made issue but I contacted the company and they were amazing. You never know the quality of a company until you have an issue, they were gold standard.

I panicked because my auto-fill on my phone had put in the wrong delivery address which was an address I no longer can access, but I didn't realise until a couple days after I had placed the order! Completely my fault but fortunately after I emailed Whiteley, I got a response from the Whiteley team who said it wouldn't be an issue to change it and confirmed everything with me. My scissors arrived to the correct address and they are lovely and cut like a dream! Really appreciated the customer service they provided and how they resolved my issue, as well as an excellent pair of scissors - Thank You!

Odered a pair of 8" Chemically Blackened Shears, never received them and no responses to my emails.
Had to dispute the transaction with my Bank to receive the money back.
Terrible service.

Excellence - Shears arrived in a beautiful presentation box, with cut outs sections to keep the set securely and once opened a lovely presentation.

I placed my order online, very late in the day, then decided to up grade items chosen. I spoke to Jade and two colleagues separately regarding my order. I requested delivery ASAP and my items arrived as requested during this busy Christmas period. I was so grateful as one was a leaving gift. Unfortunately, the address i requested delivery to had a redirection which delayed my delivery by a week. Not the fault of William Whiteley (WW) But when I spoke with Jade and her colleagues they were so reassuring and advised me what I could do.

My set of Shears arrived, and the recipient and myself was ecstatic. True craftsmanship, the weight, design and finish is second to none. It is as if the Shears were made to measure, so comfortable. I would strongly recommend purchasing from WW. If you want quality, a heirloom, style and precision and be apart of history, I would recommend William Whiteley.

My wife sent some pinking shears back for repair/ replace on the 11th November, they were signed for at William Whiteley by Jade. Despite several email,phone calls and left messages I can't find out what's happening with her scissors. They were a present from her late father so she is now getting very concerned.
Perhaps this may generate a response?

We ordered a pair of left handed tailoring shears from William Whiteley and aside from being very impressed with the quality of the product we were blown away by the customer service. Unfortunately we had repeated issues with Royal Mail delivering to the wrong address but Jade went over and above to help resolve the issue (which Royal Mail did not make easy!). A wonderful company that I wouldn't hesitate to recommend :)

We ordered a set of 3 scissors on the 19th of December 2024, eventually 2 scissors arrived but not the third pair that we had paid for, when we contacted them they said that they were to follow, after that they have not responded to repeated emails, and we still do not have the goods that we paid for.
It would appear that we will have to go to ths small claims court.
Since we submitted this review a delightful lady called Jade explained what had happened, and sorted it out , which is all one wants when things go wrong, I would now definitely recommend this company knowing that their producys are great and IF things go wrong they will be sorted out. Thank you.

Last year I bought gardening scissors as a birthday present for a friend. They were very pleased with them, and so was I when I tried them out. When asked what I wanted for Xmas I asked for a pair myself.
After a month of use I am beyond pleased. They cut hard flower stems with ease, are more controllable than my kitchen scissors when cutting herbs and are comfortable to use. The design
They are worth every penny.

Superb Service! The expensive scissors I ordered for my granddaughter were lost in delivery process. This company tried to find out what had happened with DPD, the delivery company but it seemed that this would take ages, so they immediately sent out another pair. My granddaughter has received these an says they are fantastic and a joy to use. Would go to them every time now as it is rare to get such brilliant customer service nowadays. I can't praise them enough - I was expecting untold hassle! Perhaps they could run the country for us!

I have bought many pairs of William Whiteley scissors as presents. The kitchen scissors have been very popular as wedding presents, with the wedding date lasted onto them.
Graduation presents for a couple of Sheffield students, suitably inscribed, were very well received. Both students have since bought further pairs for themselves.
I bought a pair of garden scissors as a moving in present for a friend they were so good that my latest purchase is a pair for myself. An added bonus was the free gift bag
BTW we have grandads William Whiteley pinking shears, probably at least 60 years old and still going strong.

I purchased my 4th pair of Whiteley from their site and I’ll never be buying again. I can’t complain about past purchases as they’ve been perfect but the kitchen scissors I received were not as expected. They were loose in the box, the blades were marked and tarnished on the points, there’s been a wrong size screwdriver used and took a chunk out of the the flat head channel, but worst of all they looked as though they have been used.. not what I expected.

I contacted customer service and I got a very patronising response stating that “ due to the craftsmanship they can not guarantee a perfect cosmetic finish” so I replied to that then got another response saying it was meant to be educational.

Most people will understand that anything that is hand crafted will have variations in each individual item but there’s a difference between that than something that looks used, has stains on the blades, tarnished on the tips and a chunk out of the screw.

I will go elsewhere from now on

If you want the best of the best, this company meets that expectation. Everyone of their scissors is a work of art. You can literally feel the difference between these immaculate pieces compared to all the other junk being produced today. Everyone who has handled these scissors has commented on them being different to anything else they have handled. The cutting action is something that just can't be replicated. The company is super old, full of tradition and is worth supporting. They have made scissors for the Queen Elizabeth II and Queen Victoria... that should say enough. If you can afford their EXO range, you won't be disappointed. I guarantee you, these will be one of the best products you will ever buy in your life. Those EXOs can cut through military vests... All of their products are well worth their expense. What you pay upfront now will provide you with years of joy and service that outweighs the cost you will pay for multiple cheaper scissors. Support manufacturers that do their job right. I am not affiliated, but it is super rare to find good, strong companies worth supporting in today's day and age. My wife bought me a set of the Damascus steel professional chef’s knives. They come in a beautiful heavy duty leather roll - the knives are an absolute work of art. They were delivered with a free cleaver too. I am very very impressed with the quality and usability - I strongly recommend them.

I waited ages for the exo scissors to come back in stock, place my order a month ago eagerly been waiting and nothing, after send so many messages with know response, I had to call them up in the end over a week ago, to learn my order had not left there build and reassured me they will send another pair scissors out to me and they are not cheap, still know confirmation about my order to say it’s left and when I will receive it, they didn’t seem to concerned, looks like it’s left down to me to chase my order pretty poor service and disappointed!
