Opened a packet of Nasturtium ‘Burning Embers’ tonight - the packet states approximately 40 seeds but it only contained 12. I wish I’d looked at this review site before I wasted my money. I won’t be trusting Unwins again. I’m not hopeful I’ll get a refund judging by what others have written here.

Bought a packet of White Lady runner beans a total failure 29seeds in the pack 11only germinated the rest split but no shoots growing it means I’ll have to buy plants or go short. Am self isolating so can’t go out to buy plants .or you could send me some thanking you in anticipation.D Saunders.

Bad company to deal with. Poor communication. The website says goods are 'in stock', so you go ahead and order and give your card details. Nothing happens for 3 weeks.No sign of the goods. Then a parcel arrives, but with shortages on opening. You email them- you have to search for an email address that actually works- to advise of shortages and request a refund for them. Waited another fortnight and still no response. I cannot be bothered to chase them up - life is too short - but don't you make the same mistake, shop elsewhere! Or you risk your blood pressure going through the roof!

Several weeks ago I purchased Unwins Chili Pepper seeds. There were THREE seeds in the packet! I wrote to Unwins with details including a photo of the packet and asked for a replacement as I could not return to purchase as in isolation. They have just ignored me and I don't appear to be the only ignored customer.
Customer service is shocking and and their quality control equally so.
I am also going to be writing to their directors.
I will not purchase their seeds again and would give less than one star if possible.

I have bought a packet of cherry tomatoes seeds only 10 seeds in packet and only half have germinated! The packet of aubergine seeds contained 8 seeds and only 4 have germinated. Very poor return.

My packet of Moneymaker tomato seeds from Unwins has produced one tomato plant, 3 marigold seedlings and several mystery seedlings, possibly willow herb? Not a good buy. The seeds were well in date and grown on my windowsill.

I purchased a packet of Unwins Kale superfood mix, and when I opened the packet there were no seeds in side.
Reading the reviews online, it seems that I am not alone with this occurrence! Some people have also experienced far fewer seeds in their packets.
Perhaps Unwins/ Marshalls (same company) could improve on their production and popularity, during this coronavirus crisis, and inspire the nation to become permanent growers!. Even those without gardens could benefit.

I bought my usual broad beans "crimson flowered" but have to advise only about 40% germination. This is v disappointing & it is not as if I am a novice as I have grown them for over 40 years. I bought them from Dairygold in Carrigaline, Co Cork they were in date & perfectly stored in my opinion.

I grow Sunflower king Kong successfully every year but this year only 2 of your seeds germinated and one was very poor specimen

I bought a packet of rocket seeds from Tesco’s which were £1.99 with 25% extra free I opened the packet to find one seed!
Really disappointed

Bought a packet of unwins broad bean seeds, on opening the packet thougt they looked strange. Planted 10 in pots in the green house, after nearly 3 weeks no plants. Every bean rotted. Inspected the rest of the pack, 6 beans had large holes in where they had been eaten, the rest are a strange brown colour, which was the colour of the seeds i planted. These were stored in a sealed tin in the house since being opened. Purchased from Marshalls in March this year.. I grow these plants every year and they always grow perfectly. Now i have no beans and will have to try and purchase some more if i can. Dreadfull quality.

Today I bought a packet of Unwins Orkado F1 tomato seeds for £3 from Tesco. I couldn’t find the amount of seeds until I went to open the packet at the flap on the bottom. I had prepared a 12 cell seed tray so you can imagine how surprised and disappointed I was when I counted out just 7 tiny seeds equivalent to the cost of just under 50p PER SEED! Come on Unwins - are you taking advantage of the terrible situation we are all in whereby gardeners are unable to buy seeds or plants from garden centres because of the lockdown? Judging by previous comments above I am not the only one to be taken advantage of. Shame on you Unwins.

I was going to plant some tomato seeds today. The packet even offered 25% extra. Unfortunately there were no seeds at all in the packet. I have tried emailing for a replacement but the email is bounced back. So no seeds and no satisfaction.
I am extremely dissatisfied

today 06/04/20 bought 2 packs of unwin lobelia seeds from asda. 1 pk OK but definitely not 1000 seeds as says on pk.possibly 200 if that The 2nd pack is completely empty no seeds at all not even the packet that contains the seeds. Really disappointed with this company. £3.98 for lot less than 1000 seeds plus 1 empty packet. Would send empty pk back but don't have stamp

Bought a pkt of tomato’s seeds, opened and 2 seeds inside. I was disgusted, now with the virus and being isolated, unable to buy more.

Hi I bought packet of Echinacea seeds, cost of 4.99e, to only find 9 seeds in total of packet, I was looking for a email address to contact directly, totally disappointed,

I bought some lobelia seeds from Asda, opened up the packet to my horror to find hardly any seeds in the pack.
The packet said 1 thousand seeds, if there were 100 it would an exaggeration.
Unwins seeds are a disgrace.

My husband ordered the Misted Tip Strawberry Collection for me as a present. When they arrived I planted them up straight away.

In less than a week they were covered in powdery mildew so I emailed them with photos. They replied saying that they had mildew (which I had told them in the first place) and that they would send me a mildew spray. Four weeks later and nothing.

It seems that not only do they send out diseased plants but fail miserably with customer service as well.

Take my advice and buy elsewhere as I will be doing.

Avoid this company ordered nematodes 3 weeks late phone there costomer service was horrified to find they were charging me to phone them unbelievable that they RIP off customers that they to phone them

I bought 30 raspberry canes from Unwins. They were all planted in the same fruit cage under identical conditions. With one variety, Tulameen, 11 of the 12 canes simply did not grow, whilst the remaining canes grew normally.

They have used every excuse to avoid admitting they are ar fault, and the from the phone and email communications their staff are briefed to avoid any admission of responsibility. If you request to speak to a Supervisor or Manager it's either 'they are in meetings all day' or 'they will only tell you the same as me'

Just don't deal with them, do what I should have done and buy from your local independent Garden Center, at least you can have a decent conversation with them!a
