Original Insurance was booked with Insure & Go, due to COVID a claim needed to be made for travel disruption.... thank goodness no one fell ill, accident or any other major disaster. Cannot imagine trying to deal with such rogues in that situation, this is frustrating enough, following it up with the Financial Ombudsman... and in future will do more homework and checking on Insurance companies to AVOID any others who are like Travel Claims Services
Scam merchants - avoid at all costs
Another shocking review- because they just don't pay out. 9 months of repeatative emails asking for irrelevant information (eg confirmation of flight cancellation when flights were not cancelled and not being claimed for.) Eventually after waiting 3mths to get "confirmation from your credit card company that section 75 will not cover it" (we all knew it did not come under section 75 so why insist for a letter confirming it? - to delay the preocess further that's why.) Final decision - no payout. I will be going through the FO to complain. If anyone else on trustpilot with 1 star has the time to do the same- it will help to get them closed down.
Terrible service
Terrible service. TCS act on behalf of Virgin Money Insurance. They have taken 10 months to investigate a claim, have failed to communicate throughout and have put obstacles in place to delay and prevent having to pay out. They clearly deserve their 1 star rating on Trustpilot. I would never trust them in the future, not Virgin Money who clearly must know of the poor reputation of their claims partner.

Travel Claims Services Ltd appear to be part of Insure & Go and deal with claims on behalf of Virgin Money who my Travel insurance was with.
This outfit give the Insurance Industry a bad name. It took me 10 months to get a small claim paid £320. I had to complete and submit claim forms 4 times!
At best they were totally inept. At worst they were doing their best to avoid paying a perfectly valid claim.
I will be avoiding the Virgin brand going forward.

After originally putting my claim in…
After originally putting my claim in during March 2020 (via Virgin travel insurance) and uploading all supporting information (and spending hours upon hours on hold and countless emails requesting further information, which was already initially provided, which I pointed out but was told would still take a further 30 working days to assess each time) my claim has been rejected on the basis (apparently they sent out an email - none of which I have received) that I was offered a voucher (note this voucher's expiry date was when national lockdown was still in place and there were no means to travel to the country - which was still on the "advised against travel" list) because apparently a voucher that you can't use because you are not allowed to leave your house for more than an hour a day, yet alone leave the country, is sufficient compensation.
Shocking system - it is now January 2021 and I have to wait a further 8 weeks for my complaint to be looked at.
I fully understand the impact that COVID-19 is having on the business but as insurance providers to not pay out on legitimate claims or assessing them in a timely manor is appalling and will be reporting to the Financial Ombudsman Service. TCL are doing all they can to avoid paying out on valid insurance claims, I sincerely hope the FOS look into this and take appropriae action.
Appalling delay and denial of a valid claim
Like another Reviewer, I would give a Zero if I could.
As Coronavirus emerged in March 2020 we followed FCO advice to return early from holiday in Turkey, and I submitted a fully documented claim under our Virgin Money Travel Insurance immediately upon return to UK.
VMTL handed the claim over to Travel Claim Services Ltd who took every opportunity to delay and deny. They asked for information and documents that I had already submitted, and it seemed as if the claim was being reviewed by somebody with no knowledge no ability. They even asked me to get a statement from Turkish Airlines to explain why their fare was so much higher than EasyJet who we had booked our planned return flight with!! It took till November before TCS agreed to pay, but they continued to refuse to pay for our overnight accommodation and for petrol for the hire car saying it wasn't covered by the policy. I challenged them yet again to quote the relevant policy clause or else pay up; otherwise "please send me details of the complaints and appeals process". At last on 30 December TCS Ltd agreed to pay the claim in full (less £50 policy excess of course), nearly 9 months after my claim was submitted!!
Travel Claim Services Ltd are clearly trying to avoid paying out a valid claim, presumably hoping that the claimant will give up without fighting for their rights.
I suggest to anybody claiming that you keep plugging away; companies like this don't deserve to get away with it (or to be in business).

If I could give this company a zero I would. This has been a shocking and stressful experience. After having to get an emergency repatriation flight home last year due to multiple flight cancellations relating to Covid-19. I made a claim for around £1000 in Apr 2020. After multiple requests from the company for the same information I submitted with my original claim. Followed by multiple emails and phone calls from myself to explain I had already submitted what they were asking me for. They have finally offered me £118 !! as they keep telling me I am eligible for a refund from the flight companies. I have tried many times to get the money back from the airlines with no success, which is why I made the insurance claim. I was under the misconception that this was the point of travel insurance. How wrong I was. I have made a formal complaint and will be going to the financial ombudsman next if this is not resolved.

The company that is described by Diane is not the company I have dealt with. I went out of my way to get all of my losses back on a cancelled trip which I largely succeeded in doing. Only when I could do no more did I then make a modest claim, which I assumed would be settled quickly. No such luck.
If they won’t settle simple claims, what would happen if you needed urgent and expensive medical treatment?
Virgin Money, who sold me the policy in the first place, asked if I wanted to renew my policy? My decision was an easy one to make
Absolutely shocking experience
Absolutely shocking experience. Submitted a straightforward claim relating to a travelling trip being ruined by COViD, losing out on flight money and excursions that were cancelled. Claim was over £2,200. They offered to pay £12.02. I work for a loss-adjusters, and it should have been the simplest claim for a disrupted trip in line with the policy. They took 7mths to give me a final answer, constantly lying to me about when someone will look at my claim. If an insurance policy does not cover these costs incurred, what is the point of it? I advise to use a reputable insurance company in future.

I first submitted my claim before Christmas. We need to remember this is the Claims company related to the insurance provider we chose. I sent my claim in following cancellation of an accomodation booking only with Destination 2... They refused to give me a cash refund, only a voucher. After much to and fro with them I got in touch with Travel Claims, the claims handler for my insurance company... I started the claims process 16th Dec 2020, and have been paid out, less £80 policy excess. I was paid out yesterday. I also received a seperate email asking if I wanted to submitted a complaint on how the claim was handled. Its not all bad.
They keep lying
I am still waiting for the payment of my claim although was told that it had been paid. Spoke with 2 different people that advised the following:
1st customer service representative said that the payment was made on 31/12/202 and I should check with my bank since they could not do anything from their side.
2nd customer service representative said that the payment had NOT been made, yet, and that was clearly an issue that they are now going to investigate...without of course committing to any timeline for resolution.
I am speechless.

Shambles of a company!!
Shambles of a company cancelled 2 trips in March. Due to being unwell with Corona. Should be an open and shut case as I have medical records and proof of being tested. Yet instead they have just vanished. 9 months of asking for random details back from me. (That I have already sent). These companies need better regulations.!
AVOID THIS COMPANY
Claim made in March 2020, continually getting delaying tactics asking for essentially the same thing over and over. Latest tactic, I must supply evidence that I didn't get a refund for accomodation that was never claimed for, paid for or used. Excess appears out of nowhere, £145 per person, there was no excess when I bought the policy (online through compare the market) they say it was clearly stated on page 2 of a policy document I have never been given or seen.
I thought I was buying insurance, instead I became another scam victim !

Please avoid. Still awaiting my claim since my holiday in June last year was cancelled due to Covid. Keep requesting the same information to play for time. Part of the holiday was paid in cash apparently this is the crime of the century. Disgrace of a company

Using Virgin travel insurance was a BIG mistake as this company underwrites their insurance. Why do Virgin associate with them?
I have been waiting since April to receive money back for my travel insurance claim due to Covid. we have had endless emails and telephone calls. I was assured on the phone a few weeks ago that the claim was about to be settled. Still nothing.......
When you take out travel insurance read the small print and ensure that this company is in no way involved. I dread the to think what sort of state we would have been in if we had required their help for anything whilst away. I will never use them again and now we need to get solicitors involved.
Steer well clear of them or anyone associated with them.
I got my claim back
So when the pandemic hit, I was stuck in Colombia and I had to get flights back to the UK. I paid out of my own pocket £2k for a single flight to the UK, that was in April. I have bought my insurance with Virgin Money. I submitted my claim in May, they only accepted paper claims.
I made one phone call to check, they said paper claims are being sorted out. I got an email in September to said they have the claim and it takes 45 working days to process. On 18th Oct, I got an email saying they need more documents, so I sent it via email. On 11th Dec, I finally got a confirmation of my claim and on the 15th Dec, I got my money back.
Only took 6 months, 3 emails, 1 phone call.
I would choose AXA next time, they process claims quicker and they do pay out (I did a car rental claim and paid out in two weeks).

I've just had a claim with them for a substantial amount, it's taken them 8 months to compleat the claim, and when they did eventually pay my claim, after about 20 calls over the time, back and forth with the call centre and there claims team, they took money of my claim for a credit note that I'm never going to get back from STA. Call centre people are clue less, probably not due to the lake of the information on the system.
Absolute joke of a company. Never use Insure and Go again because they sub contract to this company.
