Our History
The Fat Butcher is the brainchild of our founder Mark, a butcher with over 30 years of experience in the industry. Starting as an apprentice butcher in the Dewhurst’s Butchers of Leeds, Mark quickly climbed his way up the ranks before finding himself in a Microbiology training program in Northampton. It was here that he truly got to know meat on a deeper, more scientific level.
After leaving Dewhurst’s, Mark ran the gamut in the retail butchery industry, with positions in traditional butchers, supermarket operations, and town centre market stalls. After years of working in the physical sector, Mark considered that maybe there was a better way.
That’s when The Fat Butcher was born, conceived as an online butchers and meat delivery service that would allow customers to receive personalised and pre-prepared meat boxes straight to their door. No more chancing it on what the butcher had in. No more walking home with heavy bags of meat. Just premium, top-quality cuts of meat delivered straight to your door.

I can only muster up one word for the Fat Butcher and all their products and that is WOW!!! if you dont want excellent quality meat and ridiculous prices delivered to your door then carry on going to Asda for scraps

I have ordered different choices of meats quite a few times from The Fat Butcher and I have never been disappointed.
The meat I have received at different times has been at a very high standard and very tasty.
It has always been delivered with care and on time to the selected opted delivery date and it’s always at a great price compared to supermarkets.

I’ve used this company several times and have yet to be disappointed. The meat arrived on time. I was informed of the delivery. It was well packaged and fresh. Package appeared open at top of box, with just 1 strip of celotape, which is totally un-effective. Glad everything was there, but one of the Chinese chicken bags had split. Had to wash all other products before freezing.

Disappointing
I was really looking forward to this delivery. And when I opened the fillet steak, I was so disappointed with it. The fat that was cut off probably weighed around 500g maybe more. I messaged yourselves through the website contact form. And I've not heard a thing. I'd love to enclose the pictures, just to show the customers how poor it was.
