Excellent service, lovely fresh meat

Cancelled two of my orders without any explanation

Unfortunately this company chose DPD as their courier.
The parcel was dumped on my doorstep, wrong way up in direct sunlight and it was more than an hour before I was notified by email, because the courier made no attempt to let me know.
So far it looks as though my complaint is about the courier.
Trying to contact the company to explain what happened is an exercise in futility because if you try to reply to one of their emails it bounces back. You are left with a useless chat bot that has extremely limited criteria that doesn’t cover the issue that I wish to address.
Consequently, I will never order from them again because their after sales service is totally non existent.

We have had a few orders from the fat butcher. And the meal is always brillant.

Extremely disappointing customer service from The Fat Butcher

I placed an order worth £55 on 30 September, with delivery promised for 7 October. The tracking app continued to say my order was going to be delivered, yet it hadn’t even left the warehouse.

I contacted The Fat Butcher late on Friday 9 October through their AI customer service system. On Saturday 10 October, I also sent emails and called the butcher’s shop, only to be told, “Sorry, we can’t help you, love.”

On Monday, Alex emailed to apologise and promised that my order would be sent out on 14 October. I also managed to speak directly with The Fat Butcher through their TikTok live on 12 October, where I received a full apology and was assured that the issue would be sorted.

Even the owner contacted me via WhatsApp to ask if everything was okay. I explained the whole situation, but despite all these contacts, nothing has been resolved.

As of 15 October, I still haven’t received my meat or my £55 refund. I’ve asked for my money back, and now I’m being met with silence — no refund and no meaningful update.

What makes this so disappointing is that I’ve given the company every opportunity to put things right. Delays can happen, but customers should not have to chase repeatedly across emails, phone calls, TikTok and WhatsApp just to get a basic problem resolved.

The real disappointment isn’t just the missing order; it’s the lack of follow-through when things go wrong. Good customer service is about how a business treats its customers when there’s a problem, not just when everything goes smoothly.

I expected much better from The Fat Butcher. At this point, I simply want my £55 refunded and this matter resolved. A very disappointing experience.

The delivery and communication was spot on, and I’ve tried 3 different online butchers, but the quality of The fat butchers meat was definitely the best. I will be ordering again.

First time and most probably last time so will use The Fat Butcher.

We placed an order on 01/10 for delivery on 09/10 but unfortunately had to change the delivery to 10/10.

We were (and still) looking forward to the order and never received any notification on the order. Sent a few emails on the Saturday chasing it and was just lobbed off by the AI response.

On Monday 12/10 received an email stating the order was not processed due to a system and fulfilment issue. Was told it will be delivered on 14/10. Yes you guessed it no delivery or any form of communication on the day until I started chasing at about 1400 and eventually got a response at about 1530, once again fulfilment and system issues. I was asked when I would like delivery the next week and said either on 17/10 or failing that the latest on 19/10.

Guess what, they booked it in for delivery on 24/10. This will mean a full 3 weeks since placing the order. They did offer a credit to my account but highly doubt I will ever use The Fat Butcher again so a fat help this will be.

In this fay and age not sure how a company can constantly keep messing up an order before it is even out their door.

We will avoid this company at all cost loads of other online butcheries which I have used and will return to them and was treated very well every time we used them with no issues at all.

Brilliant service. Delivery when supposed to be. Great offers and an easy to use app. Could do with dropping the minimum delivery charge to £50 tho.
