Very good service from the team at Tackle Box regarding a discontinued item. They exchanged it for a similar product which was more expensive, at no extra cost. Complete order arrived quickly aswell.

I was sold 20lb braid that clearly had…

I was sold 20lb braid that clearly had a manufacturer problem as I could snap it with my hands , I returned it to the shop thinking they would be understanding instead they was saying I should have had a shock leader ? For your information your braid snapped on the line
clip first time round nothing to do with no shock leader. To make it worse one of the shop attendants tried with his hands and couldn’t brake it I explained I can break it and went to cover my hands so they won’t get cut, the shop attendant said I couldn’t use my jacket to protect my hands as this is not breaking it with your hands ? 20lb braid ? I just wanted to demonstrate how easily it broke so I put it round the line clip of a reel and give it a very light pull and it snapped. This was still not good enough for them, so I broke the new 20lb braid bare handed and it snapped very easily but you can imagine with a diameter of 0.2 or something it was always going to cut into my hands and I am left now with a pretty bad cut on my hand . They was very dismissive from the beginning and when they did exchange the braid I wasn’t refunded the difference . Over the years I have spent thousands at this place that was the last time !! I am still left very angry about the whole incident I wish I could add a photo of my hand I’m so angry right now they only agreed to exchange the braid once I was injured and the braid was clearly faulty what brand new 20lb braid can you snap in your hands or by pulling the line clip by hand ??

You are correct the faulty alarms I bought only a few weeks earlier that failed first time I used was changed with no problems , I was also given a large spomb that looks second hand by another very nice shop attendant after you refused to replace the brand new black midi X I lost 1st cast with the faulty braid.
I am only replying as you said what have said said did not happen , I only wrote the review regarding the bad experience I had as I left the shop and the noticed my hand was cut from the demonstration. When I say it was hostile it’s because there was some back and forward regarding me using a jacket to protect my hands I will now change the wording perhaps hostile can be taken out of context. if you remember correctly I then wrapped one end around the line clip and pulled with my other hand. Believe me I pulled that so lightly when it snapped on the line clip and that still wasn’t good enough so I had to use bare hands as your shop attendant said if I use my coat that isn’t your hands maybe that’s my fault as I said when I returned the faulty braid that I can snap it with my hands. At this point I was clearly stressed so I broke it with my bare hands. I also did raise concern about the price difference and you said that doesn’t matter ? Please feel free to watch your cctv back

I will be fair and say over all the years I have used your shop I have always been treated well and think your shop is an amazing tackle shop with very experienced staff , I always considered and have even told people in the past that tackle box is one of the best in the country. I was recently planning to have my Harrison rods re corked and always refer to your website regarding mono lines and there actual breaking strains compared to whats advertised over the years it has helped me big time. For this I will change my review slightly and up the stars and this was a one off over many visits to the tackle box.

We are quite surprised at this review, as will most people who know us and have had dealings with us over many years.
Let’s summarise your visit on Monday 8th May.

You came to us with a spool of Fox Spomb Braid, 20lb breaking strain. You informed us that you had had breakage problems with it resulting in a lost Spomb. After a civilised conversation and demonstration by you of how the braid was breaking, we replaced it with a spool of 50lb Whiplash which is the exact same price as the Spomb braid, so no refund needed, you expressed no objection to this.
You cheekily asked us to replace the Spomb you had lost which we did.

To clarify, at one point you demonstrated breaking the braid by clipping it behind your reels metal line clip and with approximately 12 inches of braid and yanked it, at which point it broke at the clip. We did comment that in our opinion that was not a fair test with a direct pull at such a short distance, however as mentioned we replaced it, no quibble.

You also had with you a set of the new generation Delkim alarms which after an extensive check proved to be faulty, we replaced those, no quibble.
When you left the shop, you even thanked us for making everything painless in dealing with these problems.

At no point during your visit did the conversation or situation get strained or as you describe, “Hostile”, as it is not our way of doing things, it’s not in our nature. Our policy always is to deal with any issues with consideration from the customers point of view, fishing is a hobby not a job so our outlook is that customers do not need hassle with genuine problems, we will always and have always done everything in our power to sort things in the customers favour.

So, to receive this review confuses us, as you have not described your visit anything near what actually occurred.

Despite this unfortunate situation you are still welcome in the shop, but please if you feel that any future dealings with us is not to your satisfaction then talk to us.

Great service

Ordered late afternoon on the Wednesday, they dispatched it on the Thursday and received it on the Friday. Always great service and phone if there are any problems with order. They are my go to mail order site.

Darent Valley 11’ 1.75 T/C Specialist Rod new Quiver Tip addition set

As usual my experience with dealing with Tackle Box was seamless and reliable from placing my order to receiving it safely delivered three days later
My order was for the new quiver tip top set for my existing Darent Valley 1.75 11’ Specialist rod which is a great addition to the rod and excellent value. Anyone has one of these excellent rods should invest in the new quiver top set addition in my opinion

Outstanding customer service

Outstanding customer service , never received anything like it from other tackle shops , my Darrent valley top section was snapped in the van and they sent out a replacement free of charge ready for my weekend session , will be using the tackle box a lot more from now on

A huge thank you to the Tackle Box for fixing my bite alarms that weren't connecting properly.
A superb rang of tackle (including their brilliant Darent Valley & CF-X own brands), great stock levels, and the best customer service in the business.
