I’m absolutely furious and disappointed with Sytner’s repair department.I paid £24,000 cash for my car, and when I needed a simple repair, they kept it for weeks and returned it in worse condition — doors misaligned, seats scratched, and no proper communication throughout.

Great at selling cars, terrible at looking after customers. I completely regret buying from them.

I has a car shipped to Sytner Swindon from another Sytner Garage at a very acceptable fee. Joe Excell then ensured that the car was full checked and indeed a faulty radiator was replaced. He then met me on the day and ensured I had a good test drive. He was patient as my bank made a meal of transferring the money for the purchase. It was all very professional.

I m reading lot of opinions about friendly service. That only happen if you buy a car with not a problem. My car has an issue from beginning. I left a car couple of times to fixed, they do not nothing, every time I m back with same issues. They care only to sell.

I am writing because I do not know what more I can do to prove there is a persistent and dangerous fault with the vehicle I purchased from Sytner Select. I have reported every fault and warning light relating to the engine and oil since purchase. Despite this, Sytner Select and associated parties continue to ignore or withhold evidence, and I remain at ongoing risk.

Please treat this as an escalation and a formal request for decisive intervention.

Immediate Safety Incident (Most Recent)

On Sunday 12 October 2025, the vehicle lost power on the M69 and I broke down again. My 13-year-old daughter was with me at the time — this was extremely distressing and frightening for both of us.

I contacted the RAC, who were unable to assist because it was a Sunday and they did not have the necessary recovery options available at the time. I then contacted Green Flag, as I had been assured by Sytner Select Swindon that I had recovery cover with them — yet I discovered I did not.

As a result, I had to pay £250 to Layla’s Recovery for assistance and transport, which Sytner Select have refused to reimburse. This refusal is completely unacceptable, given that the breakdown was directly related to the same ongoing engine fault I have repeatedly reported since February. This was the 3rd brake down I’ve had on the motorway since then. But issues started from day one. I’ve had an independent garage also do checks and they come up with issues regarding the engine but again Styner Select ignored all findings.

If there is any doubt about this incident, Cat Martin and Dave Wilkinson from National Highways were present at the scene and can independently confirm what happened.

This was the third occasion since February 2025 that the vehicle has lost power during a long journey.

What I Have Done and Provided

Reported every engine/oil warning light and every power-loss incident to both Sytner Select and Black Horse.
Paid for an independent inspection by Swindon Automotive Repairs Ltd and submitted that report to both parties — which Sytner Select have ignored.
Repeatedly requested full service and diagnostic history, which Sytner Select have not provided.
Followed every instruction and test they required, despite delays, contradictions, and lack of communication.

Why I Believe There Is a Serious Fault
The vehicle has suffered three separate power-loss incidents (7 April, 27 May, and 12 October 2025), each time while driving at speed.
Both independent and Sytner Select technicians have confirmed abnormal oil consumption and a possible oil strainer blockage causing internal engine wear.
Sytner Select continue to minimise, delay, or deny these issues rather than resolving them.

Missing / Incomplete Evidence from Sytner Select
Sytner Select have failed to provide a full and transparent record of the vehicle’s history, despite multiple formal requests. I’ve requested documentation since day one regarding the car history ie 135 pt check. History of the car prior to my purchase, but nothing?

Only two workshop job cards provided despite numerous visits (17 Mar, 7 Apr, 22 Apr, 14 May, 16 May, 27 May, 28 May–5 Jun, 25 Jun, 2 Sep, 12 Oct, and others).
Internal technician notes, case notes, and diagnostic printouts missing.
Communications with Black Horse, Car Care Plan, Vauxhall/Eden Garage, Infinity Automotive, Swindon Automotive Repairs, and the Financial Ombudsman absent.
CCTV / ANPR / site access footage not provided.
Pre-sale inspection records and preparation history withheld.

A full and accurate vehicle history would greatly assist the Ombudsman’s investigation. By failing to provide it, Sytner Select are withholding key evidence and preventing a fair assessment of the true extent of the faults.

Harm Caused by Sytner Select’s Actions and Omissions

Repeated breakdowns and dangerous loss of power while driving with my child.
Direct financial loss, including £250 for recovery on 12 October 2025 and additional costs for oil and inspections.
Repeated time off work, loss of use of the vehicle, and emotional distress.
Confusion and contradictory information provided by Sytner Select staff, undermining trust and delaying resolution.
Prolonged uncertainty and anxiety as a result of incomplete or misleading information.
I cannot overstate how distressing this has become. I have done everything expected of me — reporting every incident, arranging independent checks, and cooperating fully — yet I continue to face safety risks, financial loss, and incomplete answers. It’s a complete joke and Styner Select are just so rude and totally lack any form of compassion or haven’t even heard of the word customer service. Under no circumstances spend your well earnt money at this garage. A bunch of cowboys is too much of a compliment.

Just like to say a huge thanks to Ryan and Liam for helping me choose my next car. They was extremely professional and extremely kind through out helping me. The process went smoothly, would defo recommended speaking to the guys for any advice on finding your next car.
