Neither of the boys could swim but that changed in a matter of weeks and they are now confident and able swimmers…Max is an excellent instructor and I’m amazed how much they have come on!

Max has been a great swimming instructor for our son. He learnt to swim well in a few months and has gone on to do his badges. Still going strong a year later and still enjoying his lessons.

I did not regret having my lessons with Swim Now. Max is an excellent coach and I admire him greatly at his patience and skills. I am a 43 year old lady, non swimmer with no confidence with water at all. From the very first lesson with him, I became confidence and started floating. He talked me through the structure of the lessons and I didn’t believe initially until he started the lessons with me. He always encourage me that I can do it and I actually was able to do it.

By 5th month, I grew from beginner to advanced to my amazement. The structure was plain and straight forward. His patience was non to compare with, His skills are top notch and makes Swim Now a better organization.

I would recommend Swim Now to anybody that wishes to improve their skills especially with Max. I am now a good swimmer and anybody that sees me will think I’ve had more than 10 years experience. lol

Great experience. My 7 year old daughter has done lessons elsewhere for 3 years and never gained confidence. With just a few lessons with Kirsten she's gained so much confidence and is almost swimming without any aid. Couldn't be happier with her progress.

I'm learning with cara at Blackburn and she is an excellent instructor very helpful in overcoming my fear of water. Is good with giving advice when I do things right and a brilliant communicator when I get things wrong. Cara also offers good advise when I'm struggling with something. I would highly recommend Cara at swim now if you want to learn to swim.

My lessons have been excellent but the company seems only interested in getting your money. They charge £53 a lesson, and in the small print it says you have to sign for three months. They take £219 a month in advance so that's £657 I've commited to pay them. None of this is explained over the phone - the only thing they care about is getting you to sign the direct debit and it's only after you've signed it that you receive the Ts and Cs. I did it through Bannatyne's gym where I'm a member so I trusted them to treat the customer fairly. I shouldn't have.

My instructor was ill last week but I don't get my money back, I get a credit which I have to use within six months whether I want an extra lesson or not. The only thing that was made clear was that I needed to give a week's notice if I was going to miss a lesson.

If I were you, I wouldn't get involved with this company at all. I used them because I'd had an illness that meant I struggled with breathing. I wanted to get back to swimming but felt nervous. My instructor has undoubtedly helped with that but I really don't need months of lessons - but I'm stuck with them.

I have very mixed feelings about Swim Now.

The swim teacher has been absolutely amazing with my child, who has additional needs…patient, calm, friendly, and genuinely understanding. He has made such a positive difference, and I cannot fault him at all.

Unfortunately, the actual company has been diabolical to deal with. I wish I had read the reviews before booking.

Firstly, trying to get hold of someone is a mission. You have to attempt contact multiple times before getting any response, which is incredibly frustrating, especially when you’re paying such prices.

I changed a lesson to a different day within the same week through the central hub, and it was confirmed with me a full 7 days in advance. However, this change was never communicated to the swim teacher. As a result, I wasted a 40-minute car journey after school with my child, only to find out upon arrival, while she was getting changed, that she was not actually booked in.

We had no choice but to turn around and go home, which completely disrupted the evening. For a child who thrives on routine, this had a significant impact and the evening did not end well.

To the swim teacher’s credit, he contacted the relevant team while we were there. However, nobody from the company bothered to contact me afterwards to apologise, explain what had happened, or offer any form of compensation. Instead, I had to submit a complaint email myself and repeatedly chase them just to confirm whether it had even been received, and I am still waiting to hear back.

Considering how much they charge, I would expect a far better level of customer service and communication. Sadly, based on my experience, I can understand why others mention a high turnover of teachers.

Would I recommend the teacher? Absolutely. The company? Unfortunately not.

I am a senior citizen who was a complete beginner, with no confidence at all. I have tried to learn to swim previously and had no success. I have been taking Swin Now lessons for 8 weeks with Ben in York and am so pleased with my progress. Ben is an amazing instructor and so patient with my fears. I would definitely recommend Ben and Swim Now to anyone.

So far I cannot fault Alex. I’ve gone from being terrified to now confidently progressing at a pace where I see improvement each week. He acknowledges that I have ‘issues’ with swimming so whilst making sure I progress he fully supports me on the mental block I had & physically he encourages me to push myself. Every lesson is progress & he explains everything- the full whys & wherefores of the techniques

Jason is a great instructor. He concentrates on the correct techniques and makes the swimming sessions productive . I would highly recommend him and swim now.

BAD BAD BAD, Terrible customer service, first lesson no one turned up, I should of known but no I thought it would be a one off. Four lessons went well although I was asked to attend earlier than my booked time but never thought anything of it, then on the fifth appointment no one turned up, no one answered the office phones had to contact the teacher direct who advised she was off sick. Called all that week for an update, no one ever got back to me until the day before the lesson advised someone will replace teacher, also promised the two lessons where no teacher turned up would be given back free. No updates I had to keep calling, left loads of messages, finally got someone who advised payments will stop until further notice. Month later payment was taken after many attempts I got someone who advised money will be reimbursed, I asked for the money owed from previous month they advised it would be reimbursed also. Got the reimbursement for most but not all of the money owed. Given up, will report to trading standards, no customer service, no value for money, take your money and don't deliver. The teacher herself was good but the company itself is terrible. Stay away.

It was easy to book a lesson, and had a great introductory lesson in a dedicated lane in a local gym. I have been swimming all my life but wanted to improve. It helped that the pool was like a bath! The instructor was helpful and enthusiastic.

Swim Now has been great for my girls aged 6 and 8 who have had 2:1 lessons with Will. They’ve progressed really well, and this can be seen in their confidence in the water too. This has been quickly noticeable compared to the previous group lessons we tried (of which we tried a couple of different providers).
Will has been a super teacher and is very patient with the girls. They’ve learned more in the last couple of months with Will, and at a higher level, than they had for the last few years.
I highly recommend swim now!

I used Swim Now for one-to-one swimming lessons and, given the high cost, the experience was disappointing.

My initial trainer left with just over a week’s notice, with no proper handover. Notes were apparently only passed to the new trainer at the last minute, so the transition felt disjointed. The quality of coaching was also uneven – the second coach was a clear improvement, which highlighted the inconsistency.

I asked for a refund and even offered to pay more just to exit the remaining package, but this was refused, which felt inflexible.

I was also told a roped-off lane would be available, which was important given the lessons take place in a hotel pool with other swimmers present. Without a dedicated lane, sessions are regularly disrupted by people getting in the way, which significantly limits the effectiveness of the lesson. In practice, this wasn’t provided at my location. I later found out it was available at another site, but this was never communicated.

Overall, I don’t think this represents good value for money. I’ve since found a much cheaper alternative for one-to-one coaching in Manchester that provides a roped-off lane and a consistently good standard of coaching.

UPDATE: Following the company’s response to this review, I contacted the CEO as suggested in an attempt to discuss my concerns directly. Unfortunately, I did not receive a response.

I appreciate the company’s acknowledgement that communication regarding the dedicated lane should have been clearer. However, the issues I experienced went beyond this and included poor continuity between instructors and an overall service that, in my opinion, did not justify the premium price charged.

Having now completed lessons elsewhere at a significantly lower cost, with a good instructor and also a dedicated lane provided as standard, I continue to feel that my original review fairly reflects my experience.

No Business has disappointed me as much as Swim Now! I have tried to have a taster lesson 3 times at the West Bromwich location and it hasn’t happened due to their booking errors and no communication. Each time i’ve reached the location and have left without having a lesson. First time, the instructor was on leave but they had booked me in, second time, The Instructor said they have no booking for me but i have the confirmation in a email and third time, the Instructor is off sick but hasn’t contacted me to let me know. The people i spoke to on the phone assured me that these errors wouldn’t happen again but no one has followed it through to make sure they don’t happen. They don’t provide any contact details for the Instructor so when i reach the location and they are not there, i can’t contact them. Isobel, the Instructor at West Bromwich needs to communicate with her clients. They don’t answer their phones or check their emails, I’ve had to call them multiple times just to speak to them. Avoid them at all costs.

Disgusting company, I was unable to attend due to fever and tonsillitis. Was told by the Manager Laura at the West Bromwich branch, I forfeit my money. Noone ever answers the phone. No response via email. Con artist, that want to rob your money.

Aghi was absolutely amazing teacher my daughter at her swimming lessons. Amber has come on so well already. He’s absolutely brilliant with children and knows how to connect with them during their lesson.

Lydia was my instructor, really friendly, put me at ease. Could instantly see what needed work. Gave easy to follow instructions. Would recommend
