Absolutely shocking service from Swim Now at Elk Mill, Oldham. They cancelled my first lesson at the last minute due to instructor sickness meaning I finished work early and lost money for absolutely nothing.
The following week, I had a genuine emergency and broke down on a main road in an HGV. Despite the fact that they had just let me down days prior, they hid behind "company policy" and refused to offer any flexibility or even a partial refund.
It’s a completely one-sided arrangement. They cost you money when they cancel, but the second you have an unavoidable emergency, they pocket your cash. Do yourself a favour and avoid this company.

Jason is a great teacher and motivator. While I can swim, my technique was very poor but in a few weeks it has improved, so much so I managed 0.56 miles in 40 minutes 👍🏻

My trainer is Jason. He is very supportive and the classes have been really effective for me. I am a beginner and initially I had very low confidence. He gave me the confidence I needed. I was not confident to float and thought I couldn’t swim at all. But after just a few sessions, he made me believe I can do it. Now I am making great progress, and his guidance and feedback have helped me a lot. Thank you, Jason🙏🏻

The company deserves zero stars. As students we have a 7 day notice period for cancellations or changes, however the teachers can either give less than an hours notice or not turn up at all! One teacher injured himself 6 days prior to my lesson and texted me an hour beforehand to cancel, despite knowing for days that he would not be able to teach. Today, the teacher didn't even bother turning up. No phone calls from Swim Now or anyone. I'm taking legal action to recover my money.

Poppy is an amazing teacher. She is really kind and encouraging, while also being really focussed on building confidence and technique. My daughter was very nervous about the water when she started lessons and now she's a confident and capable swimmer. 1-1 lessons, with a dedicated lane in the pool mean she's progressed really quickly without the distractions of a group lesson.

Ian has worked wonders! Our son is neurodivergent and hated water - he wouldn't even have his hair washed in the bath. So we worried that he wouldn't be able to take part in school swimming lessons in Year 5.

Ian supported him 1-to-1 over the Summer, and for over a year since then. Now our son is swimming better than I can!

Ian is patient, kind, and understanding. He helps my son learn to swim at his own pace, building his confidence, and making it fun. That's not easy!

We feel so lucky and grateful that we came across Swim Now, and especially that we found Ian as the perfect teacher for our son.

Also the swimming facilities are always clean and well maintained which made the experience even comfortable. I highly recommend this place.

A very understanding swimming teacher has helped me conquer my fear of open water. She has put no pressure on me and has patiently watched and helped as my confidence slowly grows. I am now starting to enjoy swimming and hope to complete this task with the help of a great teacher

The instructor was patient, friendly and informative. The approach was professional and supportive.

My daughter used to attend group swimming lessons with another company, but after months of trying, she wasn’t progressing. She spent a large part of each lesson just standing in the pool watching others.Switching to private lessons with Swim Now — and especially with Ian — has made a huge difference. Her progress has sped up, her technique has improved, and she finally feels challenged in a positive way. I can see how much satisfaction and confidence this brings her.
One of the biggest advantages has been Ian’s ability to tailor each lesson to her specific needs. Ian explains things in a way she understands, and he’s helped her feel comfortable with strokes she previously struggled with. His mix of professionalism, encouragement and fun creates a great atmosphere for learning. Yes, the lessons are more expensive than some alternatives, but the quality and results make it absolutely worth it.

Our 8 year old son has been having lessons with Jamie in Skelmersdale, and we are so pleased with how he has progressed. Our son has gone from being very nervous in the water to having so much confidence and absolutely loving his weekly lessons with Jamie. I can’t recommend Jamie enough.

July is an excellent swimming instructor. She is patient, professional, and explains techniques clearly, making lessons enjoyable and easy to follow. She creates a supportive environment that helps swimmers build confidence and improve their skills. I would highly recommend July from Swim Now to anyone looking to learn swimming or develop their technique further.

Easy to sign up. Had 3 different instructors and July has been the best in improving my confidence in water and working on my techniques. I noticed I have improved.
It is quite expensive but I think it is worth the money.

Ian has been absolutely fantastic with our son. He is incredibly patient and has truly exceeded our expectations—especially considering our son couldn't swim at all when we first started. We believe swimming lessons are one of the best investments you can make for a child, and we are so glad we did.

Fantastic experience with swim now. The staff are absolutely wonderful and helped me to change instructors after my taster session as I wasn’t happy with the experience provided. Couldn’t be happier with Ian, very patient and lovely instructor. Very patient when I had to miss a lot of lessons due to injuring my foot because of the venue and helped a lot when I came back. Staff was very friendly when I first signed up as well. I feel much more confident now during my swimming lessons and would recommend swim now to other people especially Ian as he has helped me a lot.

Claire who teaches in north Bristol pools, is excellent. She has helped me come a long way with my swimming, improving technique each week, i thoroughly recommend Claire as a swim teacher.

Will from Swim Now has been fantastic. He engages with the children on a level they underatand and are comfortable with and it has given my Son so much confidence over the last 5 months.
I would highly recommend.
