Had the joy of having a cable supply issue leading to a loud bang and smoke in our house on Christmas Day of all days… Neil arrived within 10 minutes of our initial call, who quickly diagnosed the problem and got in Bas to finish the job. Dreading the turn around time, the boys had diggers in and had the job finished within 4 hours of our first phone call. Cannot thank the lads enough for their hard work and great organisation, very professional. Top notch service. Thanks from No 9.

Out for 46 1/4 hrs didn’t quite make the 48 hrs…no compensation….would love to fed ex the ruined frozen food to MD ….disgusting ..

My electricity has been off for 4 days. Its cold. I have no heat or light. SP Energy has provided zero information or help. My neighbours are all elderly, cold and confused. The company has shown utter dereliction to care of customers.

Like many in N Wales we lost our supply on Friday evening. This was reported to SP Networks on their automated system which confirmed they were aware and hoped to have the supply back by 800 am the following day
It wasn’t
Tel again an automated system now said 4.00pm the 8.00 am then Monday!
This morning supply back on but just enough to run 3led lights and charge a mobile-nothing more. No main lights no tv or freezers etc, but the worst is that SP Energy now tell me that all is ok and my supply is back on!! Moreover their systems make it impossible to inform them that our supply is most definitely not back on
The SP network system has been designed to prevent any form of human contact, GREAT FOR THEM, lousy for the customer!
In the meantime our freezers are nearing the point of no return and we are helpless

A negative experience with this company. They enjoyed knocking on our door and advising they needed to switch off electrics and dig up our driveway. We had no prior notification or request for consent for this to be actioned. Much improvement needed.

Avoid at all costs. Overcharge for electric my estimated bill was double what it should of been took 16months to rectify but was till overcharged customer service absolutely disgusting would not recommend to my worst enemy not even worth the 1 star

I asked for a quotation for them to connect an electricity supply to a new build house. They quoted me £3247 for the job and told me that included everything except temporary traffic lights. I asked how much extra they would cost. I was told that it would not be much but they could not tell me an exact amount until I paid the £3247 for the works. They also said that when they gave me an exact figure for the temporary lights, I had the option to cancel the job and get a full refund. They ended up quoting £7500 for the whole job so I cancelled the job down and they are trying to keep £355.57 for wasting their time in them giving me a quote. It says on their website that they do not charge for giving quotes. What a terrible company to deal with. It is a shame I cannot leave them zero stars

Phoned at 1.30 and engineer arrived at 2.05 can’t get any better than that

In NE Wales, where SP Energy Networks maintains the infrastructure. A barn conversion needed connecting to the network, with the erection of a new/additional pole involved; but also the nearby transformer needed replacing to accommodate the additional load of an Airsource heating system.

The work was split into two parts on different days, with both carried out really efficiently by the subcontractor. Our SP Energy contact, the Operational Engineer for the job, couldn't have been more helpful and was in regular touch to keep us informed by phone, email or in person, and the subcontractor (Gardner Powerline Maintenance) was equally friendly and efficient, taking the time on a visit beforehand to explain what they'd be doing and discuss requirements.

On the day arranged for the second part of the job (changing the transformer), there was snow lying all around including in the field where the pole was that they had to access and work on, and the steep narrow lanes to get in and out of here were untreated and very icy. As the day dawned we really didn't think they'd turn up, but they did and just got on with it, with SP's Engineer also here about three times to check up and then sign it all off.

With such bad experiences and dreadful customer service from so many large companies these days, it's such a pleasure when something goes well, as it did here, and well worth saying so. Great job overall by all concerned. Couldn't have asked for more.

The pylon near our horses' field had been making strange noises which we thought was caused by the wet weather. Then it started to make explosion noises causing much panic so it was time to report it. The SP Energy van was on site within half an hour of the call, and the transformers replaced and the power supply restored to the house and buildings within a few hours. Very quick and efficient service and the engineer kept us informed of progress and checked everything was working before he left. Happy horses!

James Warwick gave me a call. Excellent phone manner. Has a very strong understanding of the service he's selling and actually engaged with my side of the conversation. I already have a decent deal, but in the end decided that his points were strong for making the move to SP Energy fixed-rate deal, right now.

SP Energy Networks sets the bar high! In 5 yrs since we moved to southwest Scotland we have had a number of power cuts for different reasons. In every case we have been able to ring the emergency number and get an instant update on the situation. The phone is answered automatically and knows which property you are calling from so can give a specific update on your supply. When we had a serious outage a couple of years ago where power was off for hours, we had phone contact from them to update us and check we were OK. I also called them out a few years ago as we wanted to find out where the underground power lines are on our land before we put livestock on. They sent 3 workmen who spent the morning here finding the lines for us, although it was not a straightforward task. They were helpful and friendly and did a great job. If only all companies could give this level of customer service - well done!

Storm Dennis isn't that bad where I live but alas the lights have been flickering. At 1910 I tried to report dim lights but the flickering had stopped. Phoned to reort the problem only to be greeted by a useless auto answer. Recognised my post code but not my address. I just hung up in disgust. People are better than machines ! Suggest you have people answering the phone or at least address the auto answer issues.

Excellent service. Quick no nonsense service. Job was completed to an excellent standard and they attended exactly when planned. It was a difficult task as tree beaches had wrapped around electric cables but they managed to free the lines perfectly.

Excellent job of cutting trees and branches away from the power lines. All left tidy and well organised. Thank you

Most people complain about BAD service these days but I would like to say SP ENERGY came to replace 2 poles that carry the electricity supply to my home in North Wales and changed the main fuse in my house.

These men worked hard all day without a break, they were WONDERFUL, all were polite, helpful, clean and a pleasure to have around.
