Product arrived within time specified (10-12 weeks). I had questions about how to fit the shutters and contacted via telephone my questions were answered and I was reassured.

The shutter turned up damaged I. Two locations. The quality of manufacture was poor with the joiner in the corners not aligning but over lapping. This on top of of a 11week delivery with a further 11 week wait for a replacement.

One for my bathroom and one for a bedroom . I just wanted to say a massive thankyou . The quality is amazing the care taken in the packaging to ensure that they did not arrive damaged was incredible. The box of fixing was also a pleasant surprise. Your company made the fitting of these blinds for a total novice one of ease ! The on line video was so useful too . So just a message to say really really pleased with the service and quality ! Cannot fault a thing

We placed an order with Shutters Direct during lockdown after having previously had quotes from several other companies which were in some cases double the price! We wanted to get a bit of privacy for our living room which looks out onto a communal green but due to the size Venetian blinds weren’t an option and we hated the idea of vertical blinds or a net curtain!

Having never had shutters before and being unsure about if we could open the top and bottom independently, I gave customer service a call and they were very friendly and helpful when it came to answering questions about the shutters and the process of ordering so we went ahead with it and ordered via the website (after triple checking measurements!) we even opted for the cover against wrong measurements just to be on the safe side.

After receiving an email to say that the order was confirmed and estimated delivery would be 10-12 weeks (quite the wait but actually shorter than a family member who actually ordered from another company so we were happy) things did go a bit quiet.

We thought the order might actually be delayed due to lockdown but 11 weeks on we had another email to confirm delivery was taking place the next day. Bang on schedule as promised!

It would have been nice to have an update or two along the way but I can’t really fault them for it as short of saying we’re working on it, what would they say?

As for the quality of the shutters, we couldn’t be happier, they fit perfectly and have made our house look like the smartest on the block while offering us that extra bit of privacy we wanted in the front room.

They came well packaged and with all the fixings we needed and whilst the guide on how to fit them on the website wasn’t very clear, it was so easy to do. I would recommend making sure you have someone on hand to help though, especially if the window is big! If you aren’t great at DIY it’s something I’m sure a handy man could do in under an hour probably still making it cheaper than alternatives which include fitting.

I’m very glad we didn’t listen to the pushy salesman from other companies who said we needed to order through them as fitting would be a nightmare. We saved a great amount of money and are dead happy with everything.

Excellent quality product - looks much better than expected for cost - great value

We have ordered two of these shutters now. They look great and really make our home look on another level! Very smart and tasteful.We will definitely keep buying them for the rest of the house. They take 3 months to come and you don’t get any communication during that time or when they have been dispatched but it’s worth the wait! Very reasonably priced too! Thank you 😊

Great quality, but a shutter is damaged which needs to be replaced

We are very pleased with our shutters they did take a while to get hear but worth the wait,quality is excellent would recomend and definately use this Company again

We were very happy with our shutters - however we ordered 2 windows and unfortunately the boxes were not labelled and so we had no idea which frame went with which shutters - however the shutters are beauitful

I am extremely happy with the quality of the shutters and the packaging. The only shortfall though I missed out on an extra discount promo after I have placed my ordered.
I will definitely recommend it to everyone

I was goven the wrong shutters and still have not yet recieved mine with no idea when are where they are. I have had shutters from here before and they were excellent no complaints

I am aware of some bad reviews regarding this company recently, I somewhat reserve judgment at this point in time. My order arrived 10 weeks after purchase this was expected as delivery expectations were clear when ordering. I ordered two sets of shutters for two separate windows. One set was perfect and was installed with ease and looks great. They are of very good quality and workmanship.
The second set was not as expected and was obviously someone else’s order, different sizes, different colours. Contacted customer services and it seems they were expecting calls regarding a mix up. They arranged for the incorrect order to be collected a week later and at this point I’m waiting contact from them 4 days after collection regarding next step. I am sympathetic towards them as this was all bought manufactured and delivered during the height of the pandemic.
I have given 3 stars due to the quality and service to this point but am a little nervous of how this will be dealt with going forward due to recent reviews.

*****UPDATE - despite providing order number in response, we’ve not had any contact from SD that was not initiated by ourselves eg returning a call. We have had the third remake delivered today and it’s not the right frame. It’s meant to be a tier on tier shutter but there is no middle to the frame for the top tier to rest on. We also have email communication that they would be remaking the whole shutter, not just the frame, so that’s not happened either. (At this point we just want a shutter than fits and is what we ordered, however they get there.) Completely at a loss as to what to do now. Help, someone?

The customer service is an absolute joke.
We are 14 weeks into our 3-4 week lead time order and we are still waiting for our final shutter to be manufactured correctly and delivered. We have been understanding of Covid related delays and understand that the way the team are working means we can't talk to anyone repeatedly, reliably, but it's getting beyond incompetence now.

I'm sick of Lauren, Courtney, Ben, William, Sue, Mel and Summer promising calls back and them not materialising. The only joy I've had in getting a call back is posting on their social media chasing it up - and even then it's very obvious that the call has only been made because of the public social media nudge, and not through any desire to genuinely keep us updated. I'm also sick of the inconsistency in what we are being told - the manufacturer refused the remake, then they have accepted the remake, delivery will come from Wakefield, delivery will come from Northern Ireland, they are a new member of staff and haven't been trained properly, they've been there 5 years don't know why they said that etc.

If we hadn't already fitted 5 of the 6 shutters, we'd be cancelling the order and going elsewhere. We will certainly never order from any Interior Goods Direct subsidiaries again - which is a shame when we still have many more windows to "treat".

I ordered several plantation shutters and frames for my entire house as my blinds are all tried looking or broken from general wear and tear. Orders had to be placed independently and so components eventually arrived in batches. During this time the company had increased its own lead time on deliveries without informing me. Some components are missing because the drivers generally turn up unannounced and do not have any foresight to communicate with the customer beforehand. Nor is there any attempt to leave the packages with neighbours. Thus I am chasing an illusive order several weeks later. Of the order last which have arrived, I identified and reported several inconsistencies between what is shown in the assembly video and what reached me:
1) The blinds do not close in one single motion as per the demo
2) The holes in the frames are not pre-drilled
3) No wall plugs have been supplied
4) The screws supplied are very short and bear no resemblance to what is on the demo
5) Despite many adjustments, the ‘outer’ blind does not close properly on any of them
6) Some of the pins, vital to secure the blinds to the frames were missing
7) The website is very dated and is missing several features which would have smoothed the whole order-to-delivery process. Given the nature of the product (DIY, self service) I expected much more
8) CS has shown little or no empathy nor offered any form of compensation as I continue to chase down missing items

I am so annoyed with this I am considering ripping off their entire business model and improving on it. With a few tweaks here and there this could be a gamechanger of a product but the service and final product fall so excruciatingly short that I wouldn’t recommend anyone else using SD

Do not buy from this company.
The product supplied was the wrong size, I can accept that sometimes mistakes happen but it is about how a company addresses the issue. They have a attitude that the customer is wrong despite their own quality control paperwork showing the wrong sizes. They are slow to respond and only seem to respond in the evenings questioning if it is a proper company. I am still awaiting a resolution to the problem

7 months after my purchase, the order has still not been resolved. Firstly, part of my order was missing from my delivery which was very disappointed after a 3 months lead time. Secondly, parts of order came in a totally size. 7 months later, part of my order had yet to arrive.

Every time I called the wait time is over 45mins. Even when you do get through to someone, you will just have a short conversation with an incompetent adviser who will always tell you that a manager will call you back. Not once has anyone called me back. I’ve spoken to someone called Lauren who claims to be the only Lauren in the company, promising to put her reputation and career on the line to resolve the issue. She promised to me that her manager Mel will call me back on the same day which obviously never happened. I called again two days and another advisor or me on hold and hung up on me.

I absolutely WOULD NOT recommend this company unless you want to deal with a load of incompetent liars. Save yourself the cash and unnecessary stress

NINE REASONS NOT TO BUY FROM ShUTTERS DIRECTS

1. Placed the order in December 2019. As in August 2020 still have not received all items.

2. The order was first delivered in February 2020, but there were three pairs of missing shutters. It took two months for them to carry out investigations before they reordered the missing items in April 2020. The items were delivered in early July 2020. However, one pair is of wrong size. Have been chasing up for the missing pair since early July 2020 but with no avail.

3. When sent emails you only get replies that they are looking into it. But no one give you any answer or update.

4. When you call Shutters Direct, you have to wait up to one hour before someone to talk to you. (If they don’t cut you off). They promised to call back to advise the situation but never did.

5. Each email or phone calls are handled by different persons. There is no one to follow up your case. You have to repeat your case over again each time.

6. The supervisor is elusive. When asked to talk to the supervisor, they will advise the supervisor is not available and will call back. But no one call back. So there is no channel to make a compliant.

7. All delivery arrived in batches so it is difficult to organise worker to fit the shutters because you don’t know what parts are missing.

8. Some hinges of the shutters are not the colour you ordered. Some hinges are also marked with paints. When asked for replacement hinges, they sent you the wrong types. When asked for the hinges to be replaced again they just ignored you.

9. Totally frustrating dealing with this company. There is no customer care. They don’t care about customer satisfaction. They sell the product and provide no after sale services.

Shutters arrived undersized. Disappointing after 3 months, however, we are in the middle of a resolution so this review could go either way. But, even if this is resolved to our satisfaction, the 3 month lead in time is not acceptable. Just make them to the correct size!
