what you displayed on the website did match reality
what you displayed on the website did not match reality example the colours that you could select were not the same as I was told in the end so not very satisfied as the colours I had chosen were no longer available. The time frame from ordering to actual delivery and assembly are un realistic when you say 28 days from order you might as well double that after selecting colours, then the team that actually deal with the assembly I was not impressed on how this process is dealt and felt as though if you did not do as they dictated you would charged additional cost should they need to do additional work. Nor did I like the way you were told regarding parking as though it was your total responsibility regarding the parking and that they would look for spaces to park. This part of your service I found very bad! Your sales team were great. so from something I was actually looking forward having assembled not quite now. At this present time I would not be recommending buy from your site due to the service from the assembly side.

We’re sorry that the colour confusion and installation arrangements have taken the enjoyment out of something you were looking forward to.
The colour options displayed on the retailer’s website did not reflect those available, and we have asked for the listing to be updated. We also appreciate that the proposed installation week is later than the advertised timeframe led you to expect.
Our checks on the base, access and parking are intended to help the installation run smoothly and prevent problems with your building. Any potential additional costs mentioned related to work that might be needed if the base proved unsuitable, rather than standard installation charges. However, we’re sorry these explanations came across as demanding rather than helpful.
We have provisionally reserved the week commencing 2nd November and are awaiting your confirmation that this works for you. We’d welcome the opportunity to address any remaining concerns directly and help you feel reassured about the installation.

I purchased an Elm Log Cabin (17ft x…
I purchased an Elm Log Cabin (17ft x 10ft) as a birthday surprise for my wife and ordered it well in advance to ensure it would be built on time. The delivery was delayed, which completely ruined the surprise.
When the cabin finally arrived on 20 July, several pieces of timber were warped and cracked, and key parts were missing. It is now October, and despite numerous emails and phone calls, I am still arguing with Shire to obtain the parts I paid for.
Seventy-two days after I first raised the complaint, I am still being asked to provide evidence that the fascia boards are missing. This is unacceptable. I have already explained the issue repeatedly and even pointed your team to the construction manual, which clearly shows that more than one fascia board should have been supplied. Receiving a single fascia board and then being expected to prove the rest are missing is absurd.
I paid £2,800 for what should have been a quality product, but the customer service has been extremely poor. Staff are polite and make promises to help, but those promises are not followed through. A straightforward issue has been dragged out for months with no resolution.
I am extremely disappointed with both the product and the way this matter has been handled, and based on this experience, I would not purchase from Shire again.
I wish to add here that I expect following your reply that the missing fascia boards will be sent NOT skirting. I REPEAT IN CAPITALS MISSING FASCIA BOARDS TO BE SENT NOT SKIRTING THANKYOU

We’re sorry the delivery delay spoiled the birthday surprise for your wife, and that you’ve had to spend so much time chasing parts afterwards. We understand why you’re frustrated.
Rob has arranged the four lengths of internal skirting agreed with you. We also accept that the incorrect measurement in the instructions caused confusion and made this harder to resolve.
The photos provided suggest that some fascia boards may have been fitted inside as skirting. Rob has asked for wider photos so we can check this and identify what’s still needed. We appreciate that taking more photos is inconvenient, especially after everything so far, but they will help us avoid sending parts that don’t resolve the issue.
Please reply to Rob with those photos so we can help get your cabin finished.

Buying the shed was ok but feel very sorry for delivery driver.
Buying the shed was ok and arranging the delivery. Our concerns are that you can’t download the assembly instructions, we needed this to check which way the bearers went for laying the base. We rang up and they did email them to us.
On delivery day we were told between 10 and 2, but as I tracked them it became later and later.
When the poor guy eventually arrived it was a single person with a flat bed lorry and our shed hung 2 feet off each side. The driver had experienced problems all day because of this but top marks it was not damaged.
He was then expected to unload by himself.
My partner had just had a hernia repair so couldn’t help him, the poor man had a problem with his leg so was in pain.
We think it is horrific that a company expects one person to drive considerably distances, this was his 6th drop off, and unload very large sheds by himself.
The shed itself is ok reasonable quality for the price. The fittings are poor quality and the wood on one of the bearers on the base shouldn’t have been used as damaged. Nothing seems to be missing but we will
find out when we put it together. We were considering buying a summer house from them but if this is the way they treat their staff we will be buying from another company.

Regarding the assembly instructions, these were provided by email when requested, and we’re sorry they weren’t readily available to download beforehand.

Frankly, not a good service
When the arbour was delivered there were no instructions or fixings (screws etc). When the instructions eventually arrived I found that three pieces were missing. I was astounded to find that I had to paint on preservative before assembly and the holes for the screws were not pre-drilled. The last time I assembled garden furniture it arrived complete and ready for assembly.

As Alex confirmed, your arbour is pressure treated at the factory. The additional treatment recommended in the instructions provides further protection, particularly for areas that will be difficult to reach once assembled. Disappointing Customer Experience
Really disappointed with the whole experience from start to finish.
For an item that was advertised as being in stock, I do not feel that a three-week delivery lead time is acceptable. Then, the day before the scheduled delivery, I received a call from the manufacturer—outside of their advertised working hours—to say they hadn’t even been able to build the shed yet. This resulted in a further week’s delay.
Then, as if things couldn’t get any worse, on the revised delivery date I received another call to say there had been yet another problem and they were unable to deliver that day.
When the delivery finally did arrive, I had to offer to help the driver unload the items from the vehicle. Quite honestly, I have no idea how he would have managed to offload the product safely without either injuring himself or potentially damaging the shed.
Overall, the communication, delivery timescales and delivery process have been extremely disappointing and this will be my first and last experience with Shire.

Very poor service
The delivery was made by one person which meant that he arrived later than planned and for me to get to my appointment I had to help him. One piece of glass was smashed and the front panel (with window holes) was damaged. I contacted your service the day after and arranged a replacement to be delivered on 22nd. This did not materialise and not given another date.

Following your call on 23rd September, we arranged the replacements for 28th September. Unfortunately, that delivery could not go ahead, and a text notification was sent that morning. We apologise for the further delay in resolving this.
Your replacement delivery is now booked for Monday 5th October, with a voicemail left and a confirmation email issued on 1st October.

What a hassle, good luck if you order!
Whilst the product will eventually be nice when we’ve got it complete and in situ, the process has been frustrating and very disappointing.
2 stars given as the final outcome will lift it from a purely 1 star review
We ordered our clematis corner arbour on the 28th June and only now, on the 28th Sept do we actually have all the pieces correct for us to assemble and build. That’s 3 months! Too late to enjoy our arbour this summer.
1. The delivery date on the order advertised one week, they then gave us a 4 week ahead date. When I complained it was brought forward a week to 24th July but was still far longer so don’t believe what the site says - that’s just to get your order.
2. On delivery. 3 of the main support posts were badly split and you wouldn’t have been able to securely attach the other pieces. They were replaced but we had to wait more weeks for these to arrive. This was reported immediately.
3. We gave all the pieces a couple of coats of Cuprinol garden shades, which took a few weekends given the number of pieces and you have to do front and back, and when it was all ready, we started to build, only to discover that the RH bench seat was 3-5 cms short - a distance too great to be pulled in by tightening screws. Had to send photos and video to prove. More weeks wait. Piece was replaced but we were then on holiday. Got back and had to start to paint again.
4. Re-started the build only to discover that the LH seat back had the support struts on upside down. More hassle and phone calls. Again video and photos sent. They agreed it was wrong and sent the replacement part.
5. A part was delivered but the wrong part…they sent the seat base not the back despite their own emails to me confirming the correct part and part number! Can’t they get anything right!
6. Correct part now finally arrived and we can paint again and finally finish the job.
7. I requested a goodwill gesture of the refund of the cost of the extra can of Cuprinol we had to buy given two large pieces had to be painted from scratch. It was refused. Honestly wasn’t much to ask given our hassles.
Overall, the build isn’t easy and the product is heavy. There are gaps between pieces but with persistence, strength and tightness you can largely close these. There are a couple of small errors in the booklet with the instructions:, for example instruction 15 refers to RH seat back at the top but the picture down the side says LH - given you’ve already fitted the RH one in step 9 you’ll realise. But just check each step is our advice.
So good luck if you order one of these.
It is a solid and attractive piece when finished but as one delivery driver told me, they deliver loads of replacement parts, so be warned.

We’re sorry for the problems with your Clematis Corner Arbour and the time and effort it has taken to reach this stage. We understand your disappointment at not being able to enjoy it over the summer.
To give some context to the overall timescale, the issues were reported separately as assembly progressed. Following delivery on 24th July and replacement of the posts, the seat base issue was reported on 23rd August, with its replacement received on 27th August. The seat back issue was subsequently reported on 20th September. We recognise, however, that these faults caused additional work and disruption.
Sending the wrong replacement after confirming the part required added to your frustration, and we apologise for that mistake. We also appreciate that repainting the replacement components involved extra time and expense. Your request for reimbursement of the paint was considered but declined, and we understand your disappointment with that decision.
Thank you for confirming that the correct final part arrived on 28th September and for highlighting the points about the assembly instructions. We hope you can now complete and enjoy your arbour, and we’re sorry that both the initial delivery timescale and the replacement process fell short of your expectations.
