1st Move International is a UK international removals company, established in 1997, helping people and families move household goods and personal effects from the UK to destinations worldwide.
We run regular weekly shipping services to many popular destinations and publish our sailing schedules online, including vessel names, departure dates and estimated arrival dates, so you can see exactly when your belongings will sail and when they are due to arrive.
For shared-container moves, your belongings are professionally packed and palletised before shipping. Once packing is complete, we measure the finished shipment in cubic metres (cbm) and photograph the completed pallets, giving you clear evidence of how your belongings have been packed and the actual finished volume of your shipment.
Popular destinations include the USA, Canada, Dubai and the UAE, South Africa, Australia and New Zealand. We handle everything from a few boxes and smaller shared-container shipments to complete household moves in dedicated 20ft and 40ft containers, with customs support and door-to-door delivery available.

Based on our personal experience, we would not choose this company again.
The only positive aspect of our move was the delivery teams in both the UK and Perth, who were polite and professional.
Our belongings departed the UK on 11th September and arrived to us in Perth on 19th January. During the sales process, we were given assurances over the phone with the sales team, regarding cost transparency, delivery times, container sharing, and the quality and ease of the insurance claims process. In our experience, these assurances were not reflected in the outcome.
We encountered additional charges that were not clearly explained upfront, delivery times that differed significantly from what we were led to expect, and some items arrived damaged. Since delivery, our attempts to contact customer service in the UK regarding an insurance claim have not received a response to date.
While the Perth delivery was handled by a partner company, the issues we are experiencing relate primarily to communication, clarity of costs, and post-delivery support from the original company. However, I did complain to the partner company based in Australia regarding their poor communication, and this was acknowledged and they apologised.
Overall, this review reflects our personal experience, and we would recommend that others carefully compare providers and ensure all costs, timelines, and claims processes are clearly documented before committing.

Highly Recommend 1st Move International! We used them for our move from London to South Carolina (US) and it was smooth and easy. The team is extremely friendly and in communication the entire time. If I had a question, they were speedy to respond. It took 7 weeks door-to-door (note: this was over the Dec holiday period). Everything arrived exactly as it shipped - no issues with missing or broken items.

Outstanding
The company were so helpful and transparent in all the phases of the move. It was a difficult time after losing a family member, but Tess in particular was able to guide us through each step. We had so much support, even for a small move, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 1st Move again, they were fantastic.

Throughout the entire process
Throughout the entire process, I felt well taken care of. Relocating globally is a significant undertaking, but this team made it seem effortless. Everything we owned arrived intact and within the promised schedule. The service provided, from packing in the UK to unpacking in the UAE, was excellent. I wholeheartedly recommend their services.

Not happy with the price and revised price
I liked the fact they were very professional what I didn't like was you gave me a price but when you came and pa kaged everything up and then gave me a revised price my price doubled which I was not happy about. I ws now in a position that if I asked for my stuff back I was told that I would have to pay a storage fee or I had to go with it and pay the higher price. I asked for justification and got a bit off the new price but it was still no way neay my original qoatation.

From the very first call to when we received our goods, the whole experience with first move was awesome. They were professional, proficient, responded to all our questions and were kind. The US end was worrisome
The US end was worrisome. The palette was not treated with care and cosideration when delivered. The truck didnot have the correct size of forklift to handle the palette.

Overall great experience
The guys came and packed things really quickly and well. They were very nice and took direction really well.
They also walk you through the forms you have to fill out really well.
The boat trip from London to LA took a while but I was able to track it using the vessel name and a random vessel tracking website.
Once it landed in LA, it was delivered safely in well packaged pallets to our driveway within a week. Overall experience was excellent.

Unethical pricing and manipulative…
Unethical pricing and manipulative practices
I would strongly advise against using this moving company. They initially provided a quote after being told the exact size of my storage unit and knowing precisely what items needed to be moved. Once they collected and packed everything - with full awareness of the volume and items involved - they suddenly doubled the price.
It’s an exploitative business model designed to profit from storage and delivery “adjustments” after the fact.
Completely dishonest and unprofessional. If you want transparency and peace of mind, choose another mover.

As per our emails to you, we quoted based on the details that you gave us at the time, and from the email that you have now shown us, the size of your storage unit was only confirmed to you after we had quoted and you had booked. Our quotations are transparent, and they all clarify the size of the shipment that the cost is based on.
1st Class Service…
We were kept informed at all the stages. The guys that came and packed our goods were very friendly and helpful. On receiving our goods in New Zealand we found everything to be well packed and labeled. I would recommend 1st Move International to anyone thinking of sending anything overseas.

From Chippenham to Tokyo, Japan
I was happy I chose 1st International for my move. It's not the biggest company so they charge less but they got the job done. The biggest issue will always be how good is the local agent as it is obviously difficult to manage things from the other side of the world. The local agents were great and everything arrived in good condition and in good time. Door to door service.

The movers were great packing and being…
The movers were great packing and being organized, however the customer service misquoted several thousand dollars under the actual cost. In addition, the cost of the travel insurance for our goods was never mentioned and we incurred another several thousand dollar cost after they had already picked up our things. We were told the shipping would take 12-14 days and it took 6 weeks. Lastly, we were not given details about what was needed to receive our shipment regarding customs, which resulted in another 4 week delay because we didn’t have the correct forms in place.

We are sorry that you felt that you are only able to give us 1 star out of 5. Your quotation was based on the detail given to us at the time, but we collected a much larger volume to that which was quoted I'm afraid. The transit time of 12-14 days was advised as port to port excluding the time taken for packing, handling or Customs clearance. As I understand it the 4 week delay was due to a lack of residential status, which is a requirement for Customs Clearance in Canada.
Apologies again that you weren't satisfied with the service that you have received from 1st Move International and we will use your comments to improve our services where possible.
