I was slightly anxious and unsure of how my teacher training experience was going to be at the beginning of the year, but SCCD training has worked vigorously to make sure that students still got the most out of the course. The lectures have been engaging and I quickly managed to get to grips with online learning. At first, I was a little worried about using Microsoft Teams, Zoom, Google classroom and interacting with the group online, but lectures were well planned, and everything was easily accessible.
SCCD training guided us through the year by being very responsive to emails and sending regular updates and information to support us through the ongoing uncertainty, which in turn meant that my initial teacher placement was able to go ahead with relative ease.
The fact I was able to progress with my placement experience is something I’m extremely grateful for. It’s been fantastic, and I have thoroughly enjoyed it. I’ve been able to go to school every day and the safety measures put in place by the school ensured that teaching could operate as normally as possible. I don’t feel as though I’ve missed out, as I have still been able to teach according to the PGCE programme guidance. If anything, I feel like I have benefitted more from being able to experience both classroom based and remote teaching.
The remote teaching side of things has helped me become more adaptable and to face any future challenges head-on. I used technology that I hadn’t used before and so gained confidence in IT. I was also involved in researching engaging and motivating content, which is particularly important for children learning remotely, and was something I might not have otherwise had the opportunity to do.
Working with teenager meant that I had to ensure the learning instructions and language were accessible for parents and guardians, as they are often the ones supporting their child through the tasks online. I was not only giving feedback to children but also responding daily to the feedback of parents and carers about how the children had engaged in an activity. This was valuable for the assessment process and used to plan further activities.
At times I was teaching partly in the classroom and partly remotely, and this helped me to strengthen my time management skills, IT skills. This could be challenging – as I needed to ensure that lesson planning, marking, feedback and assessment were all up to date for both groups KS4/5 – but it was also highly rewarding to see student learn during this challenging time. Whilst doing the teacher training course, I met many other learners on the same path as me and sharing our experiences was a great support to keep focus. I found our lectures pleasant, and the tutors were able enhanced our skills and knowledge, giving us the confidence and guidance to complete our placements during the pandemic.
I’ve really enjoyed my teacher training in my placement, especially watching pupil learn and progress while also gaining confidence and developing as a teacher myself. The lecturers ensured that the programme was enjoyable and engaging despite the challenges that we faced during COVID 19. The course pushes you to develop, not only as a teacher but also in terms of your broader skills. Having to balance school-based training with lectures and assignments is demanding, but so worthwhile, especially when you meet your end goal and gain QTLS! It was one of the most rewarding, challenging and also year of my life, but I wouldn’t change it for the world. You need to push yourself, challenge yourself as this course is not for the light hearted!

I have been on the journey with SCCD TRAINING for my level 5 in Teaching.

The journey was very challenging due to the pandemic, at one point I wanted to give up because I was getting frustrated and stressed.

However the staff at SCCD are one of the best in the business.

Why?

Not only did they go beyond for all learners but they put themselves and family last in trying to support us.

I am so grateful for all the support I have been given due to the fact I wanted to quit but my tutor said to me to stopped and think positive and look how far you have come I won't let you.

Completing my teaching qualification with SCCD alongside work was challenging but anything worth doing requires commitment and hard work and thanks to SCCD they made it affordably possible. My lecturer was extremely helpful, pushing me to excel and ensuring I maintained high standards in my teaching and learning at all times. The course had provided me with a wealth of knowledge and skills that has ensured I became an effective and efficient teacher.

I would recommend to train with SCCD; I have been able to complete my TA level 3 course successfully. I have had an enjoyable experience at the school, where SCCD placed me, and I learnt valuable skills to support children’s learning.

In my experience it's worth the investment. I was able to find a job immediately after I finished my course. I became economically independent and grew professionally after so many years dedicated to raising my children. It’s rewarding to be part of a SEN child education programme, encouraging them to gain skills and self-confidence in so many life aspects.

This course has being a life changing experience for me and even though due to the pandemic, when the world had to find a different approach to learning abd teaching. SCCD was there for me with the support need for me to achieved my leve 5 certificat. I can honestly say that the support from the lecturers was magnificent and I am truly grateful. Thanks SCCD

My Experience at SCCD has been tough many ups and downs throughout the pandemic however I have now finished my training with them. I couldn’t be happier with my lecturer he had a lot of pressure on with the amount of students however Ive finished my Level 5 SCCD course. I really enjoyed my placement school which was provided by SCCD training and I wouldn’t be where I am without them!

Last year I finished my Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training at SCCD and I had a good experience with them. They were supportive and helpful through my journey.

After failed serval interviews at many schools, I started my teacher’s training at SCCD on a DET Level 5 course, which is leading to a QTLS teaching qualification. In this course, I have been trained about safe guarding, curriculum frameworks, and teaching theory and principles, which are so beneficial, and actually, I realised these contents are the answers that the interviewer was looking for. My lecturer Mr. Colgrave is always here and providing his profession and supervision. I am a Chinese, and English is my second language, Mr. Colgrave and Mrs. Alexis gave me all the support and help with my academic learning during my training. Now, I am on my final stage, SCCD found a secondary school for me to do my work placement. The school staffs here are qualified and very supportive. Faithfully, I would like to say, without SCCD, I could not knock and get into the teaching environment. For my peers, or anyone wants to start with SCCD, I just say, work hard, persevere, be resilient, and follow your lecturer, you will be a qualified teacher, and the dream will become true. This is my own life changing experience.

AVOID this FRAUDULENT DISCRIMINATIVE DISHONEST MANIPULATIVE company.
The head of Placement, is extremely rude and abusive, saying that students are not clever enough to speak English and understand anything (Students have BA Hons in English, MA in English, having Distinctions and Merits in English Exams). She is arrogant and manipulative.

Although SCCD requested the list of schools local to me for Placement Package Only, the placement department never contacted these schools and failed to provide evidence that they had done.

Knowing my mobility issues, the Head of placement sent me for a placement to a school within 2 hours commute from me, which breached the Initial contract with me and their promise of a GUARANTEED PLACEMENT, and Equality Act 2014.

She also informed me about this placement by an email at 8 pm ON FRIDAY EVENING! Her email stated that I was supposed to accept this offer by 5 pm on Monday. I responded TWICE with separate emails at 10 am and at 12:06 pm, five hours BEFORE the deadline. However, she ignored those TWO emails. Instead, she wrote to me that 'since I failed to accept this Placement which took them SO hard to find, they consider their obligations for £600 to be fulfilled; hence they take my £600 and leave me with nothing.

I called SCCD and allowed that woman to begin. She was irrelevant, saying how hard they worked to find this rare Placement and how I lost my chance!!! She blamed me for not responding. Then I stopped her politely on that and requested:
1. to provide me with evidence communicating to schools from MY list
2. to provide me with the evidence of how she addressed the Equality Act 2014 and Consumers Rights Act 2015
3. to provide me with the evidence that my responses to the placement emails didn't reach her account.

She went quiet and blocked my SCCD email account, went into it, moved my emails from the bin to inbox, went through it, then she allowed me access to my email and student's account again.

Thanks to me forwarding every communication to any of the SCCD email accounts to my external email, they saw that I had ALL the evidence of their FRAUDULENT AND MANIPULATIVE ACTIVITY. She came back to me offering the refund, which I received today.

Since this SCCD practice is BELOW ANY standards: they don't organise placements as they promised, they are very rude, they didn't send me a Greavance Procedure, they don't respond to Official Complains emails, after having agreed to issue a refund they keep sending me texts informing me about my NEW Student ID, and requested a passport size photo. Why?

I am taking the case further.
Avoid this FRAUDULENT COMPANY!!! They have now requested to remove the name of that person from the review. So, she must be ashamed of what she did not only to me, but to many others. Check their other platforms pages and AVOID them.

Absolutely TERRIBLE company and service provided.NEVER use it for any services.In July I paid £600 for the placement package only.The company promised to secure my placement in September.However it’s November now and still no placement.The Head of Education who is the same person as a Placement Coordinator is extremely rude woman,shouting at students over the phone and sending rude texts.I have found out recently that in 2009 she was involved in a racist incident while teaching at school calling one of her students ‘a white prostitute’ in front of a class.
She should be banned from education.The communication service is very poor-many of my emails were completely ignored or answered in a very abusive way.The company messed up my DBS check,putting the wrong details and application was rejected.They refused to provide refund for it.The company didn’t fulfil its obligations, didn’t provide me with a placement, clearly breached Consumers Rights Act 2015,took my money for service which was not provided and refused to provide a refund.I am currently taking a legal action against them to claim my refund from court.
