ScamAdviser presents itself as a website safety authority, but in practice it operates on a fear-based monetization model.

The “trust score" is not based on real security analysis or verified scam behavior.

It is largely driven by:
- hosting platform heuristics,
- domain age and popularity,
- and automated assumptions.

I verified this by testing:
- legitimate, non-commercial utility websites,
- websites with strict security headers (CSP, X-Frame-Options: DENY),
- and even non-existent subdomains, which still received “Very Likely Unsafe” labels.

In multiple cases, claims such as “iframe detected” were made even when no iframe exists and embedding is technically impossible. When content analysis fails, the system still outputs a negative verdict instead of “no data”.

This shows the scores are misleading by design, not evidence-based.

The real product here appears to be selling fear:
- alarming labels,
- low trust percentages,
- followed by offers for paid services, - subscriptions, or “protection”.

There is also no meaningful dispute process. False reports remain public, responses are rare or automated, and corrections are practically impossible.

Because of this, ScamAdviser itself is not a reliable or trustworthy tool for evaluating the safety of any website. Developers and small legitimate sites can suffer reputational damage with no accountability.

I have been using this platform few years back when they didn't change things like now. It is now most unreliable platform for seeking website information.

I checked my website 5gcms.com on ScamAdviser and their report called it a potential scam with a low trust score. Their algorithm flagged things like low traffic, a new domain, and hosting used by “other low-reviewed websites” as reasons to mark my business as risky.
This is misleading and harmful. My site is a legitimate CMS service. ScamAdviser relies on automated checks, hidden WHOIS data, and third-party metrics that do not reflect the reality of my business. They suggested my site may be a scam despite no real evidence of fraud or malicious activity.
There is no way to get accurate help or a proper manual review from ScamAdviser. Their automated report damages SEO, reputation, and trust before any real evaluation. I cannot recommend ScamAdviser because their scoring system is arbitrary and can hurt honest businesses without justification.

They are fake, they ask for money so they can remove your website from their list.

I am an independent innovator currently developing ALLFROMAIR®. Even before my website was fully completed, Scamadviser flagged it as a "potential scam." This automated and incorrect label has effectively killed my web traffic and made it impossible to communicate with potential partners, as my emails are now being ignored based on this false rating.
​I have reached out to Scamadviser multiple times to introduce myself as a serious individual and have provided clear proof of my identity, including official trademark registrations for ALLFROMAIR®. Despite my efforts to be transparent and professional, absolutely nothing has happened from their side. There is no actual response, no manual review, and no correction of this defamatory status.
​It is unacceptable that an automated system can destroy a person's work and brand without any human oversight or willingness to review the facts. I am not a company yet, but a dedicated innovator working to bring a project to life. Scamadviser’s total lack of responsiveness and their refusal to look at the evidence I have provided is deeply unprofessional. I demand a manual review of my site immediately.

Scamadvisor rating. Seeing a lot of similar experiences on Trustpilot regarding Scamadvisor. I have done some research into this company. Using automated processes and not actually reviewing your website. I listed all key-points of my findings in an email that I sent to their reporting a scam, this helped a bit, as they apparently did a second review. still not ‘great’, but slightly better. I will monitor this though, and a draft to authorities is ready to be sent if there are changes. Ironically, all the critical points to ‘list’ for new websites are applicable to scamadvisor. Registered in NL, located in the US, using a ‘go-daddy’ for hosting. Email address as listed is ‘none-existing’ unclear company structure. But hey, you can subscribe to to their ‘services’. Not a proper way to conduct business, and certainly not trustworthy. The warning on Trustpilot did it for me.
As many stated before, this is very harmful to new and starting businesses.

My brand new online retail website that I am still working on was publicised as having a low trust score!! This is not right, I haven't even got customers yet. I am in trial and error stage regarding setting up my marketing after constructing my online store, I am a newbie at this. And I have just started an awareness (called consideration) campaign to begin building relationships with potential customers. And have just started a blog so that potential customers get to know me and my business. There does not seem a way to get in touch with that website to ask them why.
