Disappointing Customer Service and Communication Throughout the Purchase
After reserving the car with a £99 deposit, I found the process of arranging a viewing unnecessarily difficult. At the time, I was told the car was not on site, which I understood. However, once the car had returned to the showroom, I was not contacted. I had to make several attempts to get an update by email, WhatsApp and telephone, including leaving voicemail messages, before I eventually managed to get through and arrange a viewing.
I also sent several WhatsApp messages asking questions about the car and its condition, as I wanted to clarify a few things before travelling to the showroom. Unfortunately, I received no response to these questions. This was particularly frustrating given that I had already paid a deposit and was seriously considering purchasing the vehicle.
When I finally viewed the car, the salesman was fairly passive throughout the process. I did appreciate being given the keys and being allowed to inspect the vehicle in my own time, although I effectively had to find and inspect the car myself without much assistance.
During the inspection, I pointed out a number of dents, stone chips and scratches. I was told that nothing would be done about these before the sale. I found this disappointing, particularly as many dealerships are able to arrange cosmetic repairs or preparation work before a vehicle is sold.
I also discovered that the car had not actually been serviced by Audi, despite this having previously been stated to me over the phone by a member of staff before I made the online reservation. This was particularly disappointing, as the information I had been given had influenced my decision to reserve the vehicle.
The experience on the collection day was also frustrating. After arriving at the showroom, I waited approximately 15 minutes before the salesman was available. I then sat in his office for another 15 minutes while he went away to finish his food. Given that I had travelled a considerable distance to the showroom by train, I felt that the overall experience could have been handled much more professionally and efficiently.
When completing the paperwork, I was also asked to sign a form stating that there were no dents, scratches or chips on the vehicle. This was despite the fact that I had specifically pointed out several of these during my initial inspection. By this stage, I was frustrated and tired after the journey and the delays, and I simply wanted to complete the process and return home.
Overall, while I appreciate that I was ultimately able to purchase the vehicle and that I was given time to inspect it myself, the communication, customer service and preparation of the vehicle fell below the standard I would expect from a professional dealership. The lack of response to my WhatsApp questions, the difficulties arranging the viewing, the discrepancy regarding the Audi service history, and the request to sign documentation that appeared inconsistent with the condition I had already highlighted were particularly concerning.
I hope the dealership takes this feedback constructively, as much of the frustration could have been avoided through better communication, more accurate information and a more attentive and professional approach to the customer.

Firstly, we sincerely apologise that you found it difficult to get hold of us and that the communication throughout your purchase did not meet the standard you expected. We are a relatively small, independent dealership, but we sell a large number of vehicles, and on occasion this can unfortunately mean that our team is harder to reach than we would like. That said, we fully appreciate how frustrating this must have been, particularly when you had already placed a reservation and were travelling a considerable distance to view and collect the vehicle.
Our approach to selling cars is deliberately different from that of many traditional dealerships. We don't use high-pressure sales tactics, and we prefer to give customers the keys and allow them to inspect the vehicle thoroughly and at their own pace. We want our customers to make their own decision without a salesperson constantly trying to influence the purchase. This is something that the vast majority of our customers really appreciate, although we understand that in your case it came across as a lack of assistance and attention.
Regarding the service history, the vehicle had been serviced throughout its life by an independent garage rather than by Audi. We apologise if this was incorrectly communicated to you before you made the reservation. We completely understand why accurate information about the vehicle's history would have been important in making your decision.
With regard to the cosmetic condition, the vehicle is a nearly five-year-old car with around 40,000 miles, and some stone chips, dents and general marks consistent with its age and mileage are unfortunately to be expected. We do not want to misrepresent the condition of our vehicles, which is why we encourage customers to inspect them thoroughly before making their final decision.
Ultimately, we are pleased that, despite the issues you experienced, you decided that the vehicle was right for you and went ahead with the purchase. However, we are genuinely sorry that the overall experience did not meet your expectations.
We are taking your feedback constructively. There are certainly areas where we can improve, particularly around communication and making sure information provided to customers is accurate and consistent.

The customer service at RW Cars has been the best I’ve experienced, especially compared with main dealers and some of the bigger car dealerships I’ve dealt with.
I bought my first car from them around five months ago and dealt with Alex, who was great throughout the whole process. I’ve now gone back and bought a second car, this time dealing with Josh, and received the same level of service again.
What I really like about RW Cars is how straightforward they are. When they tell you something is the best they can offer, you genuinely feel that it is. I was also really happy with what they gave me for my part exchange.
There’s no pressure to buy and no attempt to push extras onto you. Everything is explained clearly, and you’re given the time to make your own decision.
The whole process on my latest car was quick and easy. From arriving, taking the car for a test drive, discussing the options and sorting everything out, I was driving away in my new car within around 2 hours.
Having now bought two cars from RW Cars in five months, dealing with Alex the first time and Josh the second, I’d definitely go back again when I’m looking for another car.
I’d happily recommend RW Cars to anyone looking for a straightforward, no-pressure car-buying experience.

Rw cars were overall great
Rw cars were overall great, there were a couple of minor things, when I was initially trying to enquire about a vehicle I kept getting put through to a different department, the first guy said I had to call back in, the same thing happened again but luckily the 2nd guy took my details and got someone to call me back, at this point I was willing to call it a day and go somewhere else, but they did call me back and I’m glad I persevered.
Secondly when I arrived for my appointment, there’s no reception as such and I was left waiting for a good few minutes, eventually someone spotted me and things progressed from there,
The salesman I was seen by was Peter, he was very good, knew what he was talking about and knew his job, absolutely no pressure, the vehicle was exactly as described and shown in the pictures, we did a deal and I drove away the same day.
So overall I would say , easy to deal with with, no pressure and hassle free.
The only other minor issue I have is that on leaving Peter gave me a business card with his name and phone no on, I did have a question for him and called as soon as I reached home but didn’t get an answer, thinking he must be busy I then msgd, but have yet to receive a response, I assume it’s an old no and tbh the card has probably not been updated, but as my first point of contact that’s quite poor. They are minor issues but I feel, worth mentioning, would I use rw again or recommend them— definitely, .

Delighted with distance purchase.
I recently purchased a car from this garage for my daughter and couldn’t have been happier with the whole process. I live a fair distance from the garage so it involved reserving the car online without viewing it first, which I was apprehensive about. The photos and video on the advert however were quite detailed and this gave me confidence. After the deposit was paid (late at night) I got email confirmation and Josh from the garage contacted me the following day to confirm things. The communication was great throughout the process both by email and direct from Josh, and I appreciated the patience shown as I was delayed by a week for collecting the car. Early morning flight then train to Derby. Only a 30min walk from the train station. Very impressed with the premises, more like a main dealer showroom than a garage! Met Josh, decent coffee, collected car which was in great condition, 280mile drive home without any issues and happy daughter. Now keeping an eye on their website again for replacement car for the wife :-)

Bought a car from RW Cars and the whole process was fast and seamless. The transaction was quick and straightforward – no upselling or pushy tactics at all.
Alex was really helpful and professional. He didn’t pressure us in any way; he simply handed over the keys and let us take the car for a proper 15-minute test drive on our own. The entire process, including the test drive, took only about 45 minutes from start to finish.
