Thank you for taking the time to share this, and we're sorry for the frustration around your shipping method. At checkout, there's an automatic 10-minute grace period on the confirmation page where the order can still be updated. Once that window closes, the order moves into fulfillment, and once it's been picked and a tracking number is generated, it's already loaded onto the truck and ready for transport, so we're not able to update or cancel it at that point.

In this case, our team noted fabric snagging and thread damage along the seams of the Pico Top during inspection. For full transparency, we did include photos showing these areas.

We take the quality of our products very seriously. Our fabric is intentionally soft and delicate to achieve its signature feel, and proper care is important to maintain its condition. Care instructions are provided with each piece, including hand washing in cold water with mild soap, drying in the shade, and avoiding chlorine, oils, and rough surfaces, as these can cause pilling or fading over time.

We carefully review all concerns brought to us and respond in accordance with our policies. In this case, because the suit had been worn and washed, it fell outside of our return and replacement guidelines. We understand how frustrating that can feel, especially when expectations aren’t met.

Transparency is important to us, and we are continuously working to improve both our product experience and customer service.

As stated in our store policies, our team is available Monday through Friday, and we ask for 24–48 hours to respond to all customer service inquiries. Because your message came in just before the weekend, our team responded promptly the following Monday — well within our stated timeframe — to let you know we were actively looking into your order.

Before we could complete the follow-up and provide a full update, we received another message from you requesting a refund. Out of respect for your request, we issued the full refund right away and sent confirmation to your email.

We completely understand how frustrating it can be when you’re unsure about an order status, but please know we are a legitimate company and take customer satisfaction seriously. We are real people behind the scenes who care deeply about our customers and do everything we can to make things right.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We always want our customers to feel heard, and while we understand this experience has been frustrating, we’d like to offer full clarity on our process and where we stand.

After receiving your return, our team conducted a detailed inspection and found clear hygienic staining on the bottoms. While we understand you say the item was not worn, the condition in which it was returned indicates it was tried on and stained in the process. The hygiene liner was fully intact and had not been tampered with, confirming the stain did not come from the liner itself. We do not ship items in this condition, and we expect all returns to come back in the same pristine condition they were sent.

Because of the intimate nature of our products, we have a very strict return policy. Any item showing signs of wear or staining—even if it occurs during try-on—is ineligible for return. This policy is in place to maintain product integrity and prioritize the safety and comfort of all our customers.

To clarify a few points:

Return requests must be submitted within 7 days of delivery. Once submitted, they’re manually reviewed and approved within 48 business hours (excluding weekends and holidays).
Once received, returns are processed within 7 business days, again excluding weekends and holidays.
Whether a return is eligible for refund or store credit depends on the item’s condition and the timeframe in which the request was submitted.
We also want to note that while you mentioned initiating a chargeback, we will be submitting all documentation and photos to your bank, which clearly support our decision.

We understand this isn’t the resolution you were hoping for, and it’s never our intention to make anyone feel dismissed. That said, we stand by our policy and process and cannot make exceptions in cases like this.

At Riot Swim, we are very transparent with our policies, which are clearly outlined on our website and reviewed at checkout before an order is placed. Here’s how it works:

Sale Items: As with many brands, all items purchased during a sale or promotional period are considered final sale—this is noted on the product page, at checkout, and in our return policy. Final sale items are not eligible for return or exchange.
Full-Priced Items: For items purchased at full price, we offer a 7-day return window for a refund and 8–14 days for store credit, provided the item is unworn, undamaged, and in original condition.
Exceptions: If a return is requested outside of our standard window, we may still offer an exception, but a 20% restocking fee will apply. This is also clearly stated in our return policy.
Partial Refunds: We never “steal” money from our customers. If you received a reduced amount, it’s likely because a restocking fee applied due to a return made outside of the eligible timeframe or under an exception.
We absolutely want all of our customers to be satisfied, and when issues arise, we’re more than willing to work toward a fair resolution—as long as it aligns with our policy, which is in place to ensure consistency and quality for everyone.

To clarify a few things on our end: returns are never accepted automatically. Each request is carefully reviewed by our team to ensure it meets our return eligibility guidelines. Your order was delivered on April 10th and your return was approved on the next business day after the weekend, April 14th. Our team does not operate over the weekend, which is why there may have been a slight delay in the approval process.

Regarding the store credit, all customers are given the option to select either a refund or store credit at the time of submitting the return. We don’t make that selection on your behalf—so if store credit was processed, it’s because that option was chosen during your return submission.

We also want to assure you that our size chart is accurate and our styles run true to size unless otherwise noted in the product description. That said, we completely understand how sizing can vary between brands, which is why we always recommend referencing our size chart and measuring carefully before purchase.

As for some of the other reviews, many refer to items returned in less-than-perfect condition, and we take these cases seriously to protect all of our customers. We do not accept items that show signs of wear or staining, and our inspection process is thorough and documented to maintain transparency and fairness.

Regarding the return: when we received the items back, they were thoroughly inspected as part of our standard process. You ordered one of our Core suits in the Coconut color, which is designed with our signature second-skin feel. This material is intentionally lightweight and seamless to hug the body comfortably without digging in. We understand this may not be to everyone’s preference, but it's a design that many of our customers love for its comfort and minimal look.

Your return request was initially submitted through our portal under the reason “fit,” but your follow-up email mentioned that the item was “damaged.” Because of the discrepancy, our team reached out to clarify. We always want to ensure any actual damage is addressed thoroughly—not just for you, but for future customers as well. Once we confirmed the suit was not damaged but simply not your preference, we moved forward with a resolution.

While the return fell outside of our normal return window, we still approved a refund as a one-time courtesy. In line with our policy, this included a 20% restocking fee to cover the cost of processing and repackaging.

As for communication, our support line is text-only and not set up to receive phone calls—which is why no one was able to answer. Once we received your email, our team responded promptly and worked with you through every step.

We resumed shipping orders on February 17th and processed them in the order they were received. Your order was shipped on Thursday, February 20th, and with expedited shipping, it was delivered on Monday, February 24th—which falls within the 2-business-day delivery window as promised.
