I was charged for 1 week hotel stay…
I was charged for 1 week hotel stay despite being unable To Fly for 3 days to Big Island because of hurracaine. Redweek and the owner of the time share did charge me despite my request to cancel. My Credit card tried to deny
Claim and also could not cancel payment. I would not recommend either redweek or using someone timeshare for stay. For safety of residents on Big Island and tourists we should not be there during hurricane to overwhelm resident needs. Humility is a disappearing quality

Hi Monika, we’re sorry that the hurricane disrupted your travel plans and prevented you from making your trip to Hawaii. We can certainly understand how frustrating such a situation can be.
That said, we do want to clarify what happened with the reservation. The resort remained fully operational during the dates of your stay, as confirmed directly by resort management. Because the reservation itself was not cancelled or impacted by a resort closure, the cancellation terms agreed to by both the renter and owner in the rental agreement remained in effect. When an owner does not elect to issue a refund outside those terms, RedWeek is required to honor the rental agreement that both parties accepted.
We understand that a cancelled flight can be an extremely frustrating and costly circumstance, but unfortunately, RedWeek cannot override the cancellation terms of a rental agreement based solely on a travel disruption. We also note that the chargeback filed in connection with this reservation was ultimately decided in RedWeek’s favor.
We’re sorry your trip didn’t work out, but we hope this helps clarify why the reservation was handled as it was.
