I ordered various serving spoons in the sale. Fabulous bargain, beautifully packaged and really stylish products. Haven’t used them yet but I hope they will wash & wear well.
Only reason I didn’t score 5 stars is that they are made in China. I would love to be able to but more goods made in the UK and Europe.

Does not do what is printed on the back of the tableware Botanic Gardens collection states Dishwasher, Microwave ,Freezer safe and oven to table so i placed in oven to pre heat 3 plates when i went to place food on them found they were cracked and crazed . Complained to Portmeirion and kept getting fobbed off was asked for proof of purchase and when , this dinner service was my late mothers so i did not have proof of purchase or when , who would keep receipts for china ? I was then told '' Our Quality and Technical Team have reviewed both images of your plates and have advised that any manufacturing faults would be exposed within the first few uses. Due to the age of the plates what we believe you are seeing is the cause of impact damage. This most probably happened during handling and/or storage of the plates. The impact may have only caused an initial small, perhaps unnoticeable fracture at first, which then overtime, when exposed to moisture and heat has resulted in the cracks shown in the image.
So for a big company to use that as a get out clause is poor so will not purchase from them again.
Replying to Portmeirion reply would like to know where it tells how to use and there recommendation as to how to preheat the plates , and would like to draw your attention to there reply back to me ''Due to the age of the plates what we believe you are seeing is the cause of impact damage. This most probably happened during handling and/or storage of the plates'' so normal handling and normal storage of the plates as everyone does would contribute in them cracking and crazing and stating that to make sure they are completely dry before putting in a microwave , can i ask how you do that when you are heating food up on the plate or can you not heat food up on the plates as i am sure many other people do this .

Order arrived extremely quickly with DPD next day delivery. Was very impressed and the quality is great.

Arrived today,a day earlier than expected.My word,the packaging on this was amazing.Took me 10 minutes to unbox it.The fragrances of both I could smell through the bubble wrap.Will definitely buy from this shop again.The plus was I got it discounted.I’m so pleased.Many thanks Portmeirion.

So I came across this business on facebook and after experiencing some iffy businesses I read the reviews about Portmeirion (on trustpilot) before making a purchase! I did read some reviews with poor experiences but also read the outcomes to these which I saw good customer service so I decided to make 2 purchases of some Hungry Caterpillar china pieces. Was a bit dubious however gave it a shot! I was not disappointed, my pieces were not broken on delivery, no dents or tears in boxes and delivery was super quick. I would definitely recommend and I would purchase again. Thanks for such an amazing and quick customer experience

Dire rating, bought expensive Spode for daughter. Checked present 14 days after arrival because wanted to be sure it was all in there. Each plate had no protection at its edges and was rammed firmly into its box. Well it was when it left the company. They won’t let me write a review. They say that it’s a delivery problem. What use are their pots if they are in tiny sharp pieces. It was a 32 piece set. It makes me laugh thirty pieces per piece. I have photos. Cost another £86 to replace. Don’t buy from them if you want good customer service and don’t believe reviews. Only the good reviews make it.

Received #000186042 .One water garden broken due to poor packaging to Malaysia . Requested for replacemen, Portmeirion sent one royal Worcester mug ( doggie) as replacement. I wrote to customer service to raise my concern, I bought set of 8 from Portmeirion, u sent different collection as replacement, how do i serve my guest? Your customer service named Sophie replied on the 6th October, agreed to resend the replacement as Water Garden Mug but when i sent email 3 times since then requested for parcel number. Up until now there is NO REPLY at all from Portmeirion.

Please look into this matter as you had sent wrong replacement and ignored my email for more than week .

Ordered a set of plates and placemats when they arrived the plates gold plating was really bad quality they were scuffed and dented. I called the customer service number to be advised you need to email and send over images. I did as I was advised & waited for a response only to be told no images were attached I resent them and waited again. I finally got a response and was advised it has been passed over to quality & technical team to review. Once they had a response they would be in touch. I received an email to advise they would be sending out replacement plates and placemat. The day of delivery I opened the box to find only a set of plates no placemats. I checked the plates over and to by disappointment again the gold plate on the Sara miller plates was appalling. They again were scratched and chipped I really couldn’t be bothered to complain after the hassle I had to endure previously but I needed to email them to ask where the placemat was & I enclosed the copy of the dispatch note that showed 1 box of plates & no mention of the replacement placemat. The team emailed me back to advise it had been dispatched from a different location but they can see it was delivered today. They obviously had not read my email correctly as the package that had arrived today only had the plates in. To my annoyance I had to them email them back again & again I had to await the response. Paying more I thought the quality and service would be great however this Is not the case. I will certainly be avoiding buying from them again.

1/10/2021 Today I received a very pleasant email from one of the customer service advisors Jen. Thank you for taking the time to response and accepted apologises.

We have recently received 2 separate family gifts of Portmeiron Pottery items - a Cheese Knife & Spreader Set, and a Small Vase. The quality seems ok, but I was very disappointed to see that both 'Portmeiron Pottery' items are marked 'Made in China'. Very sad.

Delivery went without a hitch but returning the items was and is continuing to be dreadful. Please be aware that Portmeirion online in Wales is not the same as Portmerion based at stoke. I made the error of confusing the two and have so far found customer services hugely unhelpful in sorting the issue out.
Very hands off attitude from the UK branch. When things go wrong, customer service is awful.

Terrible, arrived with more broken bits than full bowls or plates. I paid for high quality bone china and got seconds, even the labels were printed wrong one was even backwards and a mirror image, And its not made in UK.
Contacted Customer services who ask for photos said “we can just send you out replacements”

We ordered cereal bowls that were narrower and taller than the soup bowls. My husband saw additional pieces (egg plate, pie bowl?, chip bowl) that he also purchased. Upon receiving and opening the boxes we find they are made in China. I bought the botanical garden dinnerware because they were made in England. I do not buy items made in China. I immediately put things down when I see this. They are usually cheap and these pieces were not cheap.
The company doesn’t think they should make it clear in the website that pieces are made in China. The also refused to pay to ship back. I’m either stuck with them and completely embarrassed or I pay to ship back and now my bowls that were made in England just got more expensive! Be warned of this scam.

I have ordered some Spode items on 24 February and almost 3 months on there is still no sign of my package. I was told there were problems shipping to France post Brexit - funny that, Optibac arrived in 4 days. Then I was told there was a problem with the carrier, UPS. I was notified of some exception by UPS in the meantime. Portmeirion customer service apologised for the inconvenience. To this day I have no clue whether or not I am getting the goods I ordered. And I received no help from Portmeirion. If you live abroad, forget the notion of helping this British business. Avoid.

In response to Portmeirion apology: I did receive the parcel in the end, with the crockery smashed. Portmeirion promptly reimbursed the unfortunate purchase. It seems that, rather than the company, the problem was the choice of courier, UPS, which cannot be relied upon. Definitely not in France.

Bought some top up plates, bowls and dinner plates to add to my existing set. I managed to get some seconds from the Portmeirion official site and you really would not know the difference, am absolutely delighted and now going to get some mugs to go with the set. Arrived very carefully packaged would highly recommend.

I only have two pieces of Portmeirion pottery in my home. Both are from the botanic garden range. One is a vase that we had as a wedding gift, the other a bowl that I bought many years ago on a trip there. The designs are beautiful and bold. The cost I can remember was reasonable. We haven`t been to portmeirion for many years now. I have a memory of my father-in-law huffing and puffing, as he tried to keep up with our toddler son, who was running around the ornamental pond. It is an unique and beautiful place to visit. I want to purchase some more of their pottery. I was going to do it online but with the possibility of this Lockdown being lifted, I think a day out to Portmeirion is in order. Lets all pull together for the sake of our economy and spend our cash in the UK? Whether it be a small, medium or large purchase, or a much needed holiday for you or your family. Think of it as a life saving blood transfusion for our very sick economy. It is WELL overdue.

Here's my review of Portmeirion's Sara Miller tableware - cut'n'pasted EXACTLY as I posted it on their website - which was rejected by their Moderator ... presumably because it's not wholly glowing like the other site-based reviews:

Beautiful and somewhat unique designs bought alongside other products from the Sara Miller Tahiti range - just what we required for our new, opulent-themed conservatory-come-dining room!

However, given it's meant to be Portmeirion - at Portmeirion prices I hasten to add (fortunately, we acquired all ours in a recent January sale) - we very disappointed to see that it's now manufactured in China. This possibly goes some way to explain why some of the transfers overlap and produce a rather ugly 'seam' on the mugs.

This was hugely disappointing given that the contemporary Portmeirion dinner service we had bought for us as a wedding present almost 25 years ago (and which is still going strong) was all made in the UK (save for some of the accessories).

The Customer Service was good too (especially under the circumstances of the current Covid restrictions where the admin staff are working remotely) - 2 broken dinner plates were immediately exchanged within a few days with replacements which came packaged in a near bomb-proof box and champagne flutes mistakenly ordered instead of wine glasses (entirely my fault) were corrected before shipment.

At the price we paid, exceptional value and well worth it; at full RRP, I think we may well have returned some if not all of it."

Make of their rejection of this review what you will - personally, I thought it accurate, fair and balanced ... which is what most if not all customers want.

Clearly that's not what Portmeirion are looking for ... so I posted it here instead, on an independent site where they can't get at it in order for it to say what they want it to say. A disappointing reaction to an otherwise positive experience.

Ordered the full range of botanic harmony from Portmeirion. The order arrived quickly and the plates and bowls look beautiful. Unfortunately 2 items arrived with a mark / chip and looked like seconds. I emailed them and they sent out replacements straight away.

Super delighted with my recent order! This was my third order and I really cannot fault the customer service even if I tried :))
I placed an order before Christmas to top up my Christmas Tree set and it arrived two days later, excellently packaged.
My latest order of some mugs as a present for a friend got lost in transit and when I spoke to Customer Services, the lady was absolutely brilliant, offered to send me a replacement and they arrived in two days time.
Really lovely pottery and excellent service too! HUGE THANKS!!

Purchased quite a few botanic garden items recently. Delivery is always super speedy, items are quality and are well packaged. Never had any problems

Ordered a set of four plates and they were carefully packed and shipped quickly and efficiently, with information as to when they would be delivered (just before Christmas too). The plates are beautiful and I would not hesitate to purchase from Portmeirion again.
