After searching high and low for a desk that would fit in my son's box room and allow him space when not in use I stumbled upon Pith&Stem. What impressed me was their take on quality and customer satisfaction. Our desk arrived and I built it in about an hour and a half. Fitted the bracket and hung it. It is sturdy and impressive when closed. Only negative was that the routing for the lock mechanism had been cut too deep so I had to build it up so it was flush and would close properly. Aside from this minor adjustment it is wonderful

I have been a happy user of my Droptop Light for over a month now. They're pricey compared to the competition, but you can immediately tell upon arrival that it's a quality item too - built for precision, built to last. The instructions are super easy to follow to assemble it and put it on the wall, and it comes with high quality fixings you can depend on. My desk feels rock solid and I'm very satisfied :)

Absolute game changer! Chose the Classic Single 32”. Provides ample space for all my needs and has provided me with a welcoming workspace - I actually look forward to working there. Not cheap but good quality and build.

Update:
After my initial review, they contacted me within 24 hours to clarify the photo positioning and informed me that my desk would enter production and be delivered within three weeks. It arrived at the end of January, about eight weeks after ordering.
Communication could be improved, and I’m also a bit disappointed that the screen cannot be adjusted in height.
Overall, at the moment, I’m happy with the product.

Zero customer communication
End of November (6weeks ago) I ordered and paid for a DropTop (1600EUR before tax). They mention that they will reach out in 1-2 days regarding the uploaded photo for final positioning. I reached out myself already several times regarding this as well as if my order is well received and if any indication for delivery can be given via email and social media (always getting message that they will respond in 1-3 days) but never received any response... With the total delivery time of 7-9 weeks I find this quite troublesome, so not sure if and when I will finally hear from them...

Great idea, well designed and produced!

Really good experience start to finish, good workmanship and if you buy the monitors and dock, it’s all wired perfectly for you.

The desk is fantastic and made very well. The installation was fairly easy and the instructions are well made and easy to read. It made building the desk very easy.

We purchased the drop top 24 duo light and everything works well together.

Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

The DropTop I purchased for my Home Office place is one of the best buys I ever made and has drastically improved my life since I have a fully functional work Space now. My Apartment is quite small and that is the only thing that would Work. I am so happy!Absolutely recommend it!!!

The product is fantastic and it really is a life changer for my daughter for whom it was bought. When the desk was originally put in, I thought the lock wasn’t working properly. I messaged the company and a new lock was sent by return. It turns out it was me that was at fault not the lock! The desk is really really well built and the customer service is excellent.

The desk is nice. The low rating is due to having paid extra to get North American Power outlets and received power hookups for another country. It would have been nice to get what we ordered/wanted.

Installation is simple and easy.

I leave in Belgium and forgot to include the customs tax. After calling customer care they explained everything in detail.

We've recently downsized and I was struggling to work out how and where to have a WFH desk. I spotted Pith & Stem via Instagram and felt their DropTop could be the answer.
And it is! The whole process was smooth and straightforward, with updates on my order and delivery, and invaluable information regarding fixing the (very heavy!) desk on the wall.
I was able to place my desk at the perfect height for me, it was great having the monitor already in place, and there's plenty of space to work on and for stashing my hard drive, keyboard etc when I want to shut up shop.

I have installed the desk too high. It doesn't work for me at all. The lock is not perfect as well.

Initially, my experience with the company was not positive: the order arrived late, and the company provided no updates. When I attempted to contact customer services, I received no meaningful response.

When the product was shipped, I ended up needing to return it, as it was heavier than expected. Customer service was much better at this stage of the transaction. They responded to emails promptly, and arranged for the product return and refund in a timely manner with no questions asked.
  

I recently bought the DropTop Duo from Pith & Stem and couldn’t be more pleased. The craftsmanship is excellent, and the communication throughout the process was superb. I’m genuinely excited to use it for my home office — and even more delighted at how effortlessly everything can be tidied away at the end of the day. Highly recommended!

For me Droptop is a perfect solution for a complete workspace at home. Working on nearly daily basis from home, it was imperative to have a working space home equal or better than an actual office space. Having it as a standing desk instead of a standard sitting space a the office, is also more healthier. I really don’t have a need for a sitting desk at home, got that at work. The first time I received it, it wasn’t complete. But Paith & Stem responded fast with the missing part, in short great customer service. I do have tendency to leave the droptop open for a few days (burning midnight oil and too early online meetings), if so I do notice that the frame tends to slip off ever so slowly. Simply pushing it back into place works just fine. If I close it every day, I don’t get that problem.

Amazing desk! Compact and great quality. Great customer service, when something broke I emailed me and they sent the replacement part free of charge.
Would recommend this to anyone! Saves space and worth every penny.

The product is undoubtedly a clever and well-thought-out idea, but it's not without its drawbacks.
One issue is that the masonry wall plugs included are inadequate for the screws provided. An easy fix, but the correct mounting hardware should be supplied.
When you open the desktop surface, it doesn't sit level and sags, failing to create a perfect 90-degree angle. While it feels sturdy enough, I certainly wouldn't push it to its claimed maximum load capacity.
The monitor arm, unfortunately, leaves much to be desired—it tends to sag even with a lightweight monitor attached and cannot be adequately adjusted.
Though these problems aren't severe, given the price point, it's reasonable to expect a flawless product.

***UPDATE***
Pith and Stem have been in touch and offered a full replacement pre assembled.

As I already set the desk up, I declined and they offered to reimburse some of the cost instead which was more than adaquate, to put things right.

Having built dozens upon dozens of wardrobes, sideboards, some cheap, some expensive I’ve never encountered issues like this.

I started building it and encountered issues immediately. The wood dowels had to be hammered in with considerable force splitting the finish, as it was impossible to push them in with my hands alone also no instructions, they sent the wrong ones via email and didn’t noticed until a it was up at the end, more about that later.

The build itself is basic, not too many parts, and the instructions are fairly simple.

The screws come with the required Allen keys but still very hard to tighten by hand.

My biggest issue was the circular cam locks which were unable to go all the way in as the screw they lock onto was touching the back of the hole. I was told that I hadn’t screwed them in enough, but due to the middle part of the sheath it wasn’t possible to screw in past the thread of the screw.

I had to grind out more of the wood to be able to fit them in because it was clearly machined wrong.

The item also arrived with the wrong lock so I am waiting on this also.

Final big problem. The instructions on the desk height. Please do not take their desk height plus 49cm rule as the truth like I did. I marked off 120cm on the wall for the bracket (as I wanted a 70cm height). The desk ended up by my knees, and I had to redrill my holes. Turns out they sent me the light 29 instructions and not the 32.

Maybe I was just unlucky but this isn’t a good customer experience.

I placed my order with Pith & Stem on 11th September, expecting delivery within the stated 1–3 week timeframe. It’s now been over three weeks, and I’ve still not received my product. I’ve since learned that my order didn’t even enter manufacturing until 21st September — ten days after I placed it — and that production has since stalled again.

What’s most frustrating is that none of these delays were communicated proactively. I only found out after chasing for updates. Technical issues can happen, but clear and timely communication is the least I’d expect from a company promoting premium, made-to-order products.

The lack of transparency has really undermined my confidence in their service. I’ve asked for a clear update on when my order will be completed and dispatched, as well as whether they plan to offer any compensation for the delay. So far, I’m still waiting for a response.

I genuinely wanted to love this product, but sadly the experience so far has been very disappointing.
