I've been using the folding wall desk from Pith and Stem as a standing desk for almost a year now, and I wouldn't turn back! Not only have I experienced numerous health benefits from standing while working, but the desk also folds away nicely over the weekend, allowing our lounge room to transform back into a playroom for my 3-year-old.

The desk is sturdy, well-designed, and easy to install. It's been a game-changer for my productivity and overall well-being. I highly recommend Pith and Stem's folding wall desk to anyone looking for a versatile and space-saving solution for their workspace.

Not only is the desk I bought from Pith and Stem perfect for home working, but the buying experience and after-care service from the team is also fantastic!

The desk has exceeded my expectations - it's incredibly well made, sturdy and robust, comfortable to work from and easily folded away when I finish work meaning that I don't have to keep moving monitors around every morning and evening.

I don't lose an entire room to being an office and can put away at the end of the day. Great quality, looks good and I love it.

We get so many compliments on our desk, and it's been a game-changer for working from home.

The Drop-Top creates a perfect working environment with lots of desk space and big screens, and then at the end of the day everything gets tucked away, and our home just feels like home again, rather than an office or workplace.

The quality is top-notch and the customer service has been excellent too.

Highly recommend to anyone who works from home and needs large/multiple screens for their job.

had to wait more than 6 weeks for delivery, they did not reply my emails asking for an update on the delivery time.
upon arrival there are missing parts.
the monitor mount instructions given by their website and the one contained in the box do not match.
Tried calling the customer service but they are not picking up and now it's the weekend.

UPDATE:
After 2 weeks I received an email saying the missing part have been shipped.
I received the part but it's the wrong colour.

for the price paid I was expecting so much better

We received our DropTop Light after 9 weeks which was a lot longer than expected, but we are very impressed with it. It was relatively simple to put together, and the instructions were clear enough. It all came well labelled, and there aren’t that many pieces to be fair!

We did have a minor mount issue, but this was very quickly resolved by the Pith and Stem team, with a replacement arriving the next day.

The bracket to attach to the wall was easy to fix, with different options of fixings depending on your wall, and the DropTop sits really flush against the wall on the mount. It’s definitely a 2 person job for this bit though!

Still waiting on my order (beware new customers) quoted lead times are more than stated and customer service response times are slow. I'm hoping my product arrives as expected but recent reviews seem to flag quality issues and QA is dropping of late at pith & stem.

Update: product has arrived albeit late. The desk itself is great and arguably worth the extended wait but hopefully the lead times are coming down.

I LOVE my droptop. There's similar products on the market but tbh I don't think they compare. I got the droptop max classic and it is STURDY! I love mutli-purpose things so I love that I have a custom picture when I'm not using my desk.

Customer service is very responsive (I'm in the US so there is obviously a time difference from the UK but Pith & Stem have been helpful. I had a delay in shipping (due to customs) and customer service helped me track down my package (even though they didn't need to). They were also in contact during the processing time which I really appreciated.

A plus is that my family and friends are always impressed and ask to see my desk whenever they come over to my house, ha!

If I could afford it, I'd buy their desks for all my family and friends and will definitely purchase again for any future desk needs!

Not sure where to even begin, but had multiple issues and still ongoing.

1) 3 delays when I was assured the desk was “ready”. During that period I had to call up each time due to lack of response on emails. I gave the benefit of the doubt as they were moving.

Desk finally arrived…

1) Outdated instructions with old parts for monitor arm.
2) Missing screws connecting the table top to support arms. Tbf, they sent me additional screws as soon as I notified.
3) Two boards connecting the top and side of the unit have misaligned connection holes so unit does not fit properly. I had to hang the unit onto the bracket by prying and forcefully tapping down. (hammering with my hands) As a result, there is a gap between the unit and wall. Some bits of wood have chipped off as a result. They said they would send new parts but I haven’t heard back in over a week, despite email follow up from me.

I think the desk is a great concept, but execution and customer service has been questionable. (to be put it politely) I have yet to actually use the desk as I’m still hanging onto hope better fitting parts will arrive, if ever. Perhaps they are still ironing out their customer service since they are a young company, but I wish I had waited and read the other more recent reviews here before purchasing.

*Edit: I have received the replacement boards. Yet to replace but will update once I do.

We ordered a Pith&Stem Drop light Single in the first week of December, and we received our drop top only in February. I only take out a star from the rating because I had to follow up at least 6 times to finally get them to despatch the package. First it was delay due to change in Factory, and then absolute chaos between them and DHL. But it required me to chase them every single time to get things done.

With that rant out of the way, the desk itself is so well built! The packaging was meticulously labeled and made it really easy to follow the instructions with such careful packaging. The finished product looks amazing, and as others have noted well worth the money you spend on it.

The worst customer service ever.
When the desk arrived it was damaged and did not fit together properly. Emailed to complain and requested advice regarding replacement. We got no reply so contacted by phone, I was informed someone would get back to me. No call came so again we had to contact the office who then looked at the pictures we sent of the faults and was given return labels and date of our desk to be collected. No information on when our replacement would be delivered.
4 weeks later we still had no call or email for a replacement so again we had to call the office and was told our replacement desk would be sent to DHL within the next day or two. I received a tracking number for DHL but 1 week later no update on shipment.
I called the office again to find out where our desk was to be told they're sorry and we should have received the desk, they will contact me later that day with an update.
No call came and we are still waiting for our desk.
I'm shocked how bad the customer service is in this company and would definitely not recommend them to anyone.
I just hope when our desk arrives it is not damaged like the previous one.

I wanted to share my experience so far....

Order my desk in November 2023 and received late December 2023. A part (the main desk) was damage and reported this to Pith & Stem late December 2023 - only to discover there where closed for the Christmas. Sent an email and followed up with a call early January 2024.

After 4 weeks of following up with them, I still don't have a replacement part for my damaged desk. Poor customer service as their phone line is now suggesting to leave a message...but there is not space on the answerphone. I guess it will be another email.

Will keep you posted on developments.

UPDATE: as of the 3rd February 2024 my desk is complete and I love it!

This desk is my favourite thing about working from home because it means I can sit in my kitchen with the doors to the garden open. It then folds away and becomes a really nice collage of my family. I had to work to convince my wife that the expense was worth it, but she was instantly won over when it arrived. Great design, great quality and a thing of beauty which has enhanced my life. I wish them every success and have just one piece of advice to anyone not sure whether to order - buy it now because it will help you work harder and earn the money back in no time.

I ordered a DropTop Duo in November, received and assembled it in December, and want to share my experience so far.

The cable holes are not suitable for a real-world scenario where, for example, there are plugs that are too large to fit. In fact I had to fix the wires to avoid the holes resulting in an ugly mess of wires. Perhaps a 2cm larger hole for the cables would have been enough.

The space under the monitor is where I had to put a power strip. Unfortunately the available height is too low. 2cm more might have been enough for my MacBook charger.

The monitor mounts didn't work because there wasn't enough space left for the monitor to close the desk, so I had to replace the monitor mounts with a different brand, resulting in a more expensive setup. Another approach you could have used was to simply increase the depth of the desk by 2cm. That's it.

I could have got a better product with a better look by calling a local craftsman.
I really will not recommend this product to anyone I know.

Definitely a nice idea and well advertised on your website but not well thought, overpriced and unable to fulfill the main function it was made for.

Got my Droptop desk 4 months ago and it’s brilliant. Absolutely love the fact that I have my office in the kitchen and no one would know.
The desk is spacious and the integrated dock and monitors look very smart with all wires hidden away.
If I was to be picky and ask for one change it would be to have somewhere to store my laptop within it - I use the space behind the monitors for the keyboard.

Really enjoying my Droptops. Simon has been super helpful in arranging the order and collection. Instructions are easy to follow and the unit well built, practical and beautiful.
