A culture of collaboration
Phillips Solicitors was established in 1986. Brain Chase Coles Solicitors was established in 1995. Both firms merged on 1 February 2020. The merger was an important step towards our goal of building the region’s strongest dynamic, full-service law firm, whilst maintaining the traditional values that both firms were built on. In 2021, Phillips acquired Henley’s Solicitors. In 2022, we became Phillips Law.

Phillips Law helped me when I was unexpectedly made redundant
Phillips Law helped me when I was unexpected made redundant from my previous company. I had to reach a voluntary agreement with my company and they helped me with all the aspects of this, going over the agreement the company had given me and making suggestions about things that need to be included. This was things like the company had said I could keep my company laptop when I left provided it was wiped of all data. The solicitor from Phillips made sure this was in the agreement so there could be no come back in the future about it. Something I wouldn't have even thought about. It's times like this, when you're under a lot of stress that having someone with a cool head and who understands all the relevant laws really pays off and makes the whole process much easier. Recommended.

Very professional and supportive service provided , at a very difficult time for me.
Sarah was there for me every step of the way . From advice, to regular updates, Sarah represented me extremely well. Sarah enabled me to leave my employment and worked out a fantastic settlement agreement for me , after an unfair and difficult employment battle.

This has been a terrible conveyancing experience from start to finish and beyond and is going to cost us SIGINFICANTLY.
Phillips law failed to make the charge on the land registry for our original mortgage. We only discovered this upon going through the remortgage process 2 years later. We are spending time trying to rectify this but are now facing the prospect of being moved onto a much MORE EXPENSIVE variable rate mortgage PLUS the time spent trying to sort this mess out.
For the original mortgage process we got there in the end (or so we thought) but the communication was incredibly slow and the process was like pulling teeth.
My advice would be to go somewhere else for your conveyancing needs.

Sale and purchase of houses
I have not moved house or purchased a house in over 35 years. The Phillips team particularly Sharelle and Catherine could not have done more to help me co ordinate both the sale and purchase of both properties. They did a fantastic job and I am so appreciative of their professionalism and support.

Sale and purchase of property.
We recently moved house and Lisa Rigby handled both the sale and purchase for us. In all honesty I don’t think we could have made the move without Lisa. Our new property comes with a complicated (but fair) management agreement and Lisa smoothed out the bumps, had all our questions answered and was generally strong and patient enough to see the process through to completion. We are delighted with the outcome and can thoroughly recommend Lisa at Phillips Law. Ps Their rates are excellent too… cheaper than the estate agents fees!
