Travelled to white cross bay on Saturday gone and expected to stay for new year but parkdean had other ideas,made to wait well past the 4PM check in time without an explanation,finaly got our holiday home and to say it was a disgrace is being kind,it was so bad we left Sunday morning,when I spoke to the accommodation manager before we left he was understanding and he even said it wasn't acceptable,he offered another holiday home for the rest of our stay but trust was gone by then,even though a refund is being issued it really isn't enough,parkdean resorts should be ashamed for allowing things like this to happen,me and my family have had our new year spoilt because of this and I certainly will be taking things further.if only I could give a zero

Arrived Saturday grounds round caravan worn potholes. Caravan fine except position in. We bought a car especially come here from redcar as have a commercial vehicle a van.to find Van's all over site.was not amused.when clearly states no commercial vehicles. & to me if it is sign written on or not makes no difference its still a commercial vehicle simple. Also loads work men staying on site.im no snob I'm a lorry driver but wouldn't of expected that.also one we spoke to paid £139 for 4 night we paid over £400 for 7 night so hows that. Total RIP off. Would never go again were at cherry tree great Yarmouth to 21 9 don't think gonna stop full week now gonna go home early totally disappointed

1 star as their is not none , booked holiday 2 days later had to cancel thought nothing of it as i had paid my 25 pounds for peace of mind if i had to , well thats what they said , then got e/mail to say my excuse for cancelling they didnt recognise so i couldnt get my 460 pounds back , i intend to take it further as i have been told that legally if i paid in case of cancellation then i have a claim .

Nice location staff pleasant and friendly.
Wheelchair accessible caravan tired and needed a deep clean, carpets stained and smelled, wet room floor stained ( flash with bleach cleaned it ), bed in main bed
room small low and unstable metal frame it should be two 3ft singles divan in these vans that push together to make one. Hand rail on ramp on the outside of the van is very loose at the bottom and could be classed as dangerous. All above reported to Parkdean so hopefully the next customer won’t have the same problems as we had. We left after one night of a three night stay.

POSSIBLY THE WORSE HOLIDAY( SANDFORD) . VERY DIRTY AND RUN DOWN PARK. IN THE MIDDLE OF NO WHERE. WHEN BOOKING IMPLIED IT WAS NEAR A BEACH. SO FELT MISLED.
ACCOMMODATION REALLY DIRTY . SUPPOSEDLY CLEANED AND CHECKED: NEITHER PROPERLY. THEY LEFT A NOTE ASKING FOR THE BEDDING TO BE REMOVED UPON LEAVING WITH THE LINE " DON'T WORRY ABOUT THE MATTRESS PROTECTORS WE WILL DO THAT FOR YOU " THERE WERE NO MATTRESS PROTECTORS ON ANY BED AND ON COMPLAINING UPON RETURN PARK DEAN SAY THEY DO NOT PUT PROTECTORS ON ANY BED . SO WHY SAY THEY DO ? THE MATTRESS WAS BEYOND FILTHY.
THE WHOLE PARK WAS LIKE A CHILD CARE FACILITY. CHILDREN RUNNING EVERYWHERE /ANYWHERE UNSUPERVISED: IT WAS QUITE DANGEROUS. THE WHOLE PARK NEEDS INVESTMENT. IT IS NOT CHEAP SO THEY COULD USE THE MONEY RECEIVED FROM CUSTOMERS TO UPDATE THE PARK AS A WHOLE; ESPECIALLY THE ACCOMMODATION.
UPON RETURN I COMPLAINED AND WAS TOLD I SHOULD HAVE COMPLAINED WHILST STILL THERE. IN THE T&C'S IT STATES YOU CAN CONTACT THEM WITH A COMPLAINT UP TO 14 DAYS OF YOUR RETURN : I DID. BUT CUSTOMER SERVICES DO NOT SEEM TO UNDERSTAND THEIR OWN T &C'S OR HOW TO OFFER GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. CUSTOMER"SERVICE" REFUSED TO HEAR MY COMPLAINT!!!!! HOW CAN A COMPANY ACT SO BADLY TOWARDS CUSTOMERS . IF THIS HAD BEEN DEALT WITH IN A DIFFERENT MANNER I WOULD HAVE CONSIDERED ANOTHER PARK DEAN PARK BUT AFTER THE WAY CUSTOMER SERVICE ( NO SERVICE) HAVE RESPONDED
I WILL NEVER USE AGAIN .

Parkdean .... Camber Sands.
A big site with inadequate facilities for the number of guests it handles.. All the kids areas are much too small with only minimal equipment... example: only 2 swings in the play park... And when its sunny there is no shade for us adults. Do take sun umbrellas..
The Swimming pool gets crowded within half an hour of opening and actual swimming is impossible, its so busy ! .... at times you will wait an hour just to get in..
Paid activities , these are too expensive and again limited.
Food is expensive in the restaurant, its not so bad in the chippy, but the chippy has only a small selection. the best option is to cook for yourself.
Our lodge size was ok, however the fridge was too small, and the beds were uncomfortable.
The plus side of camber is its big beach , but even that can get very busy..

Well what can I say about Thorness bay apart from this STAY WELL CLEAR OF THIS HOLIDAY PARK AND COMPANY.

We stayed in Caravan 43 in solent Village. They stayed this was a GOLD Caravan.

We the outside and I side doesn't show it to be GOLD. (Judge for yourself).

I wouldn't recommend eating in the bar unless you have a big wallet and are prepared for poor quality of food. Their food comes from 3663 and is ALL Frozen. Not fresh at all. We had a full refund on the food and didn't eat the food.
the so called chip shop serves frozen chips and frozen fish but they don't do anything else that you would expect to see if a chip shop. This is not worth the money. £2.70 for a small cone of chips.

We checked in online the 13th July 2019 and made an official complaint on the 14th July 2019 to Guest Management.
Our complaint was heard and listened to by sitems management but was not forth coming when we needed things sorted or wanted them to be sorted prior to our arrival and Early Check in which we paid for as an extra for a fee of £25.00

The complaint for this company is now ongoing with their Head office and the IOW Torness Bay Holiday park.

We have been offered a small fee of £60 refund of which we feel this is an insult to what we paid to have the holiday given the inconvience that our family had to endure during our stay.
The Caravan was meant to be GOLD, well this is what they say, but I would hate to see what their basic holiday homes are like.
We have had broken dining table chairs, dirty floors and cupboards. Dirty doors and radiators. Broken lights which are still awaiting repair.

We have now forwarded our complaint to Head office and Traiding Standards and Environmental Health as our complaint did not just involve the hygiene of the Caravan but also the park and the pricing structure as the home we had is not that of a gold standard. But they wete also selling the same holiday for this same week at a reduced price to what we booked and paid for in January of 2019.
I guess its each to their own on standards of a holiday, but in our opinion the pictures don't show that of a GOLD standard holiday home.

I will upload our videos and 275 pictures showing the mess of the park and the holidays homes they rent out.
We had a cleaner come back to our caravan to conduct a Deep Clean, they have not completed their offer as the Caravan is still dirty in places and areas have still not been cleaned when we was told they would be.
A Deep Clean includes everything on the Caravan inside and out. And this has still not been done.

Be prepared to clean your caravan when you go to this place. The cleaners don't know what cleaning is or looks like.
Everyone be warned!!!

Family's please also watch our for the speeding little 4x4 quads they use and the old vans hey have around.
the speed limit is 10mph but they have total disregard for the rules of the site.
This was also reported to the site management.

. After check in @ 1pm reported 2 broken chairs within the holiday home - maintenance attended after 1hr - 1.5hrs and fixed them with screws

· The cleanliness within the accommodation was not satisfactory - eg, exterior dirty, moss around the outside and the roof contains grass. The bathroom was not clean, mirrors had smears/fingerprints - glasses in the kitchen are dirty - Food still in the plughole. Long hairs on the carpet picked up by guests daughter. Curtains not staying up well.

· Site looks worn

· Buggies driven very fast around park exceeding the 10mph speed limit, by staff

· Leak under kitchen sink and shower tray not draining properly

· Complex given wrong information on where the cashpoint was resulting in guest having to go to the shop only to find the cashpoint was in the complex

· Cash point claims it charges £1.75 per transaction when it actually charges £1.85

· Was advised by Central office that we had an outdoor pool, we do not

· Pool not big enough for site, tiles mismatched and grout dirty

I wouldn't recommend this site for people over 10years old Dead boring for teenagers and adults. The manor house bar/restaurant/bingo called/kids entertainment all in the same room. When the bingo is played families eating and talking. kids Showtime area with loud music and the staff shouting down the microphone. Very steep not suitable for people with walking difficulties. Booked for the weekend and comeback home early. Very poor staff interaction.

Bideford Bay! Arrived at the park and our accommodation wasn’t ready with 2 young children this didn’t put us in the best mood to start with. We were told we had been allocated a caravan, after being given our keys we headed to find our accommodation which actually turned out to be a chalet. When entering the chalet the only word I can use to describe the smell is horrendous. It absolutely stank of mould and damp. We were then told by the staff that there had been a huge leek in the chalet prior to our arrival, the carpets were still wet from where they had ‘tried’ to clean them and hide the smell but there was certainly no hiding the smell it absolutely stank. They suggested putting a machine in the chalet to try and get rid of the smell of which would take an hour to do and with a 1 and 2 year old this was very inconvenient for us. We then woke up the next morning to use our cooker to cook breakfast at 7am, when we turned the cooker on it blew all the electric in the chalet and we were left with no electricity atall. We called security who came 15 minutes later and could not resolve the problem, we were then told it would be classed as an emergency high priority issue for maintenance to deal with. It got to 9am and we had still not had the issue resolved so we headed to reception as it opened at 9am, we explained about the cooker issue and the fact that we were now all starving having been without electric since 7am and the smell was still awful the receptionist then basically told us we could go home if we didn’t like it!! I was so unhappy with their behaviour but explained this was our holiday and we would like to be able to enjoy our holiday with basic requirements in the chalet..like a working cooker and we didn’t want to spend all day on our holiday having to sort issues out. They eventually managed to replace the cooker but the smell was never resolved. I would not recommend this park to anyone and will certainly never be returning again!

First of all, when we booked in, Sam on reception was very nice, explained straight away, the park is empty and if we wanted it we could upgrade.....when i explained that no we didnt have the money to upgrade, her attitude changed to very brisk and her speel was fired at me like a machine gun.  

We found our caravan and got unpacked and straight away all we could hear was banging thumping where less than 50 yards from the caravan they were dismantling a caravan by hand, so okay not great but okay..... 

then the adverse weather started and the caravan sways in strong wind, it bucks and sways and made both of feel sick.  

the second day at 8.30 am more banging and crashing as a tractor brought round another caravan to be broken up! so now on our second day, strong winds, feeling sea sick and thumping and more banging all day!

 

our third day was constant rain and we finally made it out for a couple of hours, my partner has IBS and fibremialga, so we came back to the caravan to find the toilet bowl half full of water, my partner needed the toilet and so used the toilet but when it flushed it wouldnt drain, i tried pumping the toilet brush ip and dowm to clear it but no avail. so i tried to phone reception at 5.45 to hear rapid instructions but no park reception option, so went to swtich board, nothing but an answerphone! i tried 5 times and eventually went to call security on the park. He said that maintence should still be there, and went to the office, an hour later he returned saying noone was available, and that we had to use the toilets near the entertainment centre! we were in ov 13 caravan and walking the entire park, at night , with an IBS flare up! NO WAY!

 

It was not possiable to stay any longer as my partner was already feeling unwell, and with the toilet broken, the prospect of a half mile walk to the nearest toilet was no longer viabale, so we have returned the keys to security at the reception and come home feeling very unhappy and a holiday totally wasted.

we have since complained, and they have admitted they were at fault and have offered......20 pounds voucher for a free upgrade on our next holiday........voucher runs out in 3 months!. that was out main holiday for the year.

so parkdean if you read this, you company is dreadfull. you know where we would like to stick your 20 pound voucher!

Not even been at resort yet and problems start. Booked a mobile for 7 nights in October 2019. Called them yesterday evening to amend the number of nights stay due having new work commitments. It took 18 mins 59 secs to answer. When they eventually did answer there was no apology for the lengthy delay. Halfway through the conversation she just said sorry, got to go and then left me hanging on once more for a further 9 mins whilst she took another call because they were very busy! Then when she came back she told me I would have to pay an additional £40.00 for making an alteration. I said that was not going to happen, particularly when I had waited 19 mins to be answered in the first instance and then a further 9 mins to take another call. I thought they may have apologised and even offered a small discount for the two lengthy waits but seemingly not. That tells me a great deal about the company's customer service. CANCELLED!!

Absolutely top class and excellent value for money. Booked into the hotel for a birthday treat in early May. The staff are very friendly, most welcoming and give excellent service. The room was a pleasant surprise. Larger than most hotel bedrooms with a good, large bathroom. Large double bed, good facilities including tea and coffee service and a small mini fridge for personal drinks or medicines. Very clean, nice and quiet.

The health facilities are also very nice, 22 meter pool with lane swimming, 10 meter splash pool with warmer, slightly shallower water, hot tub, steam room, saunas. Reserved for adults before 10:00 and after 19:00. Good changing rooms. Modern, well equipped gym. Again very helpful and friendly staff.

Had an excellent meal in the restaurant with food and drinks at a very good price. Food quality and portion sizes were very good.

The park itself is well located on the edge of the White Cliffs of Dover with lots of walks nearby and places to see and visit. The park is well laid out with no sense of overcrowding. An attractive setting in well maintained grounds.

All in all, excellent value for money and highly recommended. There is a very nice atmosphere and you are really made to feel welcome.

Just returned from Tummel Valley resort in Scotland. The facilities were shocking. Not geared up for teenagers at all. I reported a dirty nappy under my caravan the first day. It was still there when I left a week later. The owners got priority for the swimming pool. But you are a visitor you have a book a time to go swimming. So never got to use the pool cause I wasn’t going to plan my whole day around a swimming pool. The arcade was geared for little ones. Not a site for you if you have older children.

The holidays we have had with parkdean haven’t been the best but haven’t been the worst, obviously some caravans can do with an update and some of the dining’s could do with better chefs but it’s not a bad holiday especially at such low prices, you get what you pay for, my kids love going to the parkdean resorts, I suppose it depends we’re you go, all in all not a bad holiday!!

Booked pet friendly lodge caravan at warmwell, booking system good but abeit expensive for a short break away nor did we like the constant notices that we should pay now for the balance.

On arrival Friday (May) it was extremely busy and had a bit of wait (possible need more staff on peak times), the lodges are good + spacious but the Warmwell site is pretty hilly and steep so possibly not suitable for people with disabilities and OAP's due to hills and some exposed tree trunks.

The facilities are good on site, fishing, ski slope, swimming pool, good and well stocked shop abeit a bit more expensive compared to the supermarkets/ You need a car for the warmwell site as public transport is a bit hit n'miss and about 20 mins to Weymouth.

The Log cabins are well spacious, warm when you put the heating on (may take 3 hours), beds are good, nice balcony and worth a visit.

One bit of caution is to book with a large party (say 6) as holiday is quite expensive even off season and for a weekend.

We had to cancel this time in October and booking staff were efficient apart that we didn't get any money out so it is worthwhile looking at insurance (private one is cheaper) with your holidays.

Parkdean Resorts have treated my family disgracefully during our recent holiday to Withernsea Sands. Last night before going home and they cut off the power to our caravan whilst our 6 year old is trying to sleep. Did not affect anyone else on site. This is since we had to raise complaints since arrival. Bathroom light too dull and nothing done about it. On day 2 we asked about the indoor opening times. As soon as we wanted to use it the same afternoon they closed it until further notice. 2 days before we leave this was replaced with opening times saying only for prebooked 45 min sessions. This was no use to us and there was no mention of it before booking. The gate to the 6 and under playpark was permanently closed since day of arrival with access only available via the clubhouse. The under 12s playpark was too high for under 12s. For the last few days the central heating was inconsistent. We ended up having to complain on their Facebook page as this seems to be only thing they read. This also proved to be a waste of time. It will be a dark day in hell if we ever book again and we will be looking to cancel our next booking to Cornwall with them which has already been made. They have not only ruined our 6 year old's holiday this time but she wanted to go back to the same Cornwall park we had earlier this year next year. So well done Parkdean for upsetting our daughter not once but twice. You clearly hate families as customers. It may be more worth our while to pay more for a more respectable holiday company instead next time even though that means less holidays for our daughter.

I called enquiring about a short stay at Cresswell Towers for the family (including the dog) and I as I had seen some availability on another site but it was missing the photographs. Not wanting to take the risk, I decided to contact Parkdean directly. The chap on the phone was very friendly and polite and assured me that the caravan was 'very nice' and guided me to a van on their site (the brand was Kielder I believe) of which he advised me the advert I had seen would be the same caravan. It looked bright, clean, welcoming and overall very pleasant to look at so I made the booking there and then.

OK, so this is where my opinion changed rapidly... So I checked in and was given the key to No 15 The Paddock. It looked much like any other caravan... Until I opened the door! The overwhelming smell of wet/dirty dog hit me like a shovel! The kids made an instant reference to the smell and it knocked my young daughter visibly sick. Yes I booked a stay which was dog friendly, however there’s a huge difference between a hint of dog and a complete stench! The problem I have is that I suffer from Tourette’s and complaining makes me very anxious so I reluctantly decided to ‘make the most of it’.

After a short while, the smell became less offensive and we started to unpack and settle down after a long drive. This is where the rest of the issues became apparent. The lighting... circular ORANGE lighting all around the ceiling of the van. No lamps or anything to give us some ambience, just either darkness or big, eye straining ORANGE glare throughout the van. I was thinking back to the lovely van I was guided to at the point of booking and felt very mis-sold. The seating area looked old and tatty with a greasy feel about it (not to mention the stains). There was nothing remotely ‘lovely’ about this van. No cushions, no ornaments, no pictures, no mood lighting, no comfort at all! The seating was in fact the most uncomfortable thing I’d ever placed my backside on! The place felt like a student hostel and that’s being polite!

Now for the list of the other issues...

• No plug for the kitchen sink! As you can imagine, it was quite the struggle trying to do the washing up!
• Tears in the bedding! The duvet covers were ripped along the seams and two of the beds.
• There were empty ‘air freshening’ tubs that I imagined used to contain nice smelling gel’s!
• The drainage in the shower was draining very slowly and wasn’t nice to stand in. We had to leave a chink of time between each person’s shower i order for the water to drain away completely!
• There were prominent cobwebs across the ceiling and lights.
• Our boiler packed in and after speaking to the out-of-hours team we managed to get some heat back on as the “gas ran out”.

We were due to check out on the Monday morning but our young children were begging us to go home on the Sunday! Children just don’t do that!

I’ve been caravanning for many years now and I understand this isn’t the Ritz but I do expect to receive what I believe I paid for and what I was sold. The stay wasn’t pleasant and we made sure we stayed out of the caravan as much as we could. I’ve stayed with Parkdean many times before but I feel really let down this time. It would take something special to tempt me back!

Do yourself a favour Parkdean, get a commercial cleaner in there, smarten things up a bit and look at the smaller details that make all the difference to families like mine!

Booked pet friendly caravan & at the time of booking did NOT request entertainment passes as the terms & conditions state you are not allowed to leave pets unattended. When final balance was due the entertainment passes had been automatically added but didn’t realise as this is the first time I have ever booked a caravan so had no reason to check & remove. Although passes not used Parkdean refused a cash refund but offered to reduce the amount from a future booking. In addition the 2 gas bottles were not checked prior to our arrival so second day into our stay was left evening & overnight with no heating, hot water & cooking facilities as reception had closed.

Terrible, stay away.
It started just after booking, we’d paid for two dogs but unfortunately one passed away before our stay, they wouldn’t refund the money we’d paid (haven did)
On arrival we’d been given the grottiest van imaginable, the curtains were hanging off and the boiler didn’t work. Ripped carpet and general dirt and grime everywhere. Never again.
