Had a house survey done in Nov 2020 by Steve.

All was fine in the beginning: process and communication. But with time it became apparent that things were missed.

Firstly, the surveyor didn't notice a leak in the loft. Later, when I checked it myself, the problem was obvious as pipe insulation was soaking wet. Also, there were signs of leek on the first floor ceiling.
When I contacted Steve, he came out to have a look and gave some useful advice. But I already bought the house, so it was useful but too late.

Secondly, there was mould in a built-in wardrobe, which wasn't in the report.
Again, Steve came over to have a look and gave advice, but it should've been spotted in the first place. The fact that there were things in the wardrobe reducing visibility, is a weak argument in my opinion.

Have these 2 things were spotted, I wouldn't have bought the house.

I decided to choose Palmer Lim Surveyors after reading all the wonderful reviews online. I also really liked the fact that I could have a video call with Steve a few days after the survey to discuss any questions or concerns I had.

Jingling is an asset to this company. She was able to give me all the details and information I needed to make my final decision. Jingling eased my nerves, and assured me that Steve was going to do a good job.

Steve found some urgent issues with the property we are purchasing. This at first threw me off, with worry and stress. But after serval communications with Steve, I was put at easy and am very aware of how we will get things rectified.

If I had to do another survey, I would happily go back to Steve and Jingling at Palmer Lim Chartered Surveyors.

Quick response and smooth communication in the whole process. Report on time. The explanation of report is clear and accurate. As a house buyer, we are happy to know any defect or issue to be fixed by priority. Steve advised us with fruitful and sensible comments.

Very communicative and quick responses to all of my queries before the survey and I received the report promptly after the survey had been completed. Having a call to talk through the contents of the report was really helpful and Steve was very patient explaining all the bits I didn't quite get. Highly recommend: while the previous surveyor we used for our first home purchase did little more than tick boxes, this surveyor was exhaustive.

The survey went into an exceptional level of detail, and the surveyor offered to have a zoom meeting with us afterwards to follow up with any questions. The turnaround was very quick and the price extremely competitive. We will be using their expertise again in future, when we (hopefully) look into refurbishing the loft of the property we are purchasing.

Both Steve and Jinling have been extremely helpful.
From day one, Jinling made sure all the documentation was available for either signature or review, took all my calls and made sure I understood what the process was and what to expect moving forward. Jinling's kindness was extremely comforting especially when having to deal with complex matters I have no expertise on.
Upon survey completion, Steve produced the report in the quickest timeframe (2 days if I am correct) even if the given SLA was 5 days!

Steve’s report was really thorough. He was also really helpful at explaining what issues there were with the house and he took the time to talk us through them. He also suggested we could contact him in the future should we need advice on work the house needs.

We needed a surveyor to carry out a full buildings survey for us following an issue raised during our proposed house purchase by our solicitor. I remembered seeing a recommendation on Facebook of a local surveyor and rang Palmer Lim Surveyors to ask their advice. From the first call we felt confident with their expertise and knowledge. A survey was booked within the week and Steve Palmer took time to email/speak to us on the phone before preparing the survey report to explain any urgent findings and to make sure we understood the findings. The full report followed with Steve offering to do a Teams meeting if we needed to discuss the report or didn't understand anything in the report. The instructions for him to act on our behalf and the payment was all sorted out easily online by following a sent link to confirm our instructions. Our structural survey was conducted 2 weeks after we instructed them. I think this could have been shorter but I think there was only Steve doing all the surveys at the time. The report was written remarkably quickly but unfortunately the email requesting payment went to our junk mail so I didn't spot it. When I emailed to ask when the report would be ready I received an email from Steve asking for payment before he would send it. So after I paid I had to chase again to ask if they has received it and I didn't get the report until 24 hors after payment. Small company but quite speedy overall in this pandemic. Just a lot of chasing around.

Steve conducted a building survey of a property we were looking to purchase. He provided a very indepth and useful report which we were able to effectively plan for ongoing maintenance.
