I just tried Octoparse and it seems to not meet expectations. It seems that it allows me to login or even autologin using precreated cookies and navigate through the website until I reach the page that I need to extract data. However once I reach there I cannot easily identify all the elements of a list and I cannot create a kind of tree structure.

Because extracted data need to be like so:

Items in a list

extract all items from the list

Visit each item of the list

Get all subitems of the item

Extract all short descriptions of the subitems

Click each subitem to expand the drawer on the right

Extract all information from this drawer

It seems that octoparse has an issue helping you build this nested logic

Despite cancelling and requesting deletion of my personal details, a substantial amount of money was removed from my account. Under no circumstances give your credit card or PayPal information to this website.

I am currently attempting to resolve through my bank's fraud department, and it looks like I will be successful (proving that Octoparse does in fact use illegal practices).

I am based in Europe, so luckily I can also file a GDPR complaint. Hopefully this company can be prevented from operating over here at least.

Deserve zero stars. Try cancelling that free account? Good luck. The instructions provided are incorrect - the function to cancel does not exist. Shady business practices.
The software is interesting but I wanted to test it versus building custom Python extraction -- it won't do what I need so will proceed with the latter. But the inability to test before you buy (the onsite bot is useless) is pretty suss in 2024.

I have been playing around with their software for an hour now. Had to learn the tricks, read some manuals, but now I know how to scrape only that data that I need from ecom websites. It works, it's a great tool. Have no clue about their refund policy since the free plan's 10k data export limit is much more than I need, so I'm using it for free. I'm satisfied.

Octoparse helped me a lot, I can get all the information accurately, very fantastic, this tool has brought great convenience to my work. I'm glad I discovered it, which has doubled my work efficiency and data resources.

Octoparse is my go-to for ecommerce web scraping. It's easily tailored for most websites, they have great tutorials, and the support is quick to respond. I've used multiple scrapers and found that this is the only one that meets my needs. It's always improving with each update.

The cons about Octoparse are when using the free version of Octoparse; it restricts the scraped data to a maximum of 10,000 rows. This can be a limitation for users who need to extract larger volumes of data.

Then, when using the standard version, it is great that it has a feature to run the scrapping process in the cloud. But it has a slow Connectivity in cloud scraping, so I have occasionally experienced slow connectivity or intermittent issues when using Octoparse's cloud scraping feature. This can result in incomplete scraping of data, causing inconvenience and potentially requiring additional efforts to retrieve the missing data.

Overall, Octoparse is a great tool, providing a user-friendly experience and powerful features that simplify data mining and extraction. What makes Octoparse even more impressive is that it enables data mining without requiring extensive coding knowledge.

I signed up for the free trial, then tried to cancel and get a refund after the software didn't work. I tried multiple templates, and their manual scraping template, nothing worked. They then charge me $89 and won't refund it. First of all, STEEP price for a product that doesn't even work. Second of all, your business plan is to make a product that doesn't work, then hold your customer's money hostage when they request a refund? My first and last time using this companies product. I think the other reviews on here speak for themselves.

I tried multiple templates for scraping Google Maps. The scraping process was slow and required manual management. And it's too expensive.

Thieves and liers. They took my money without my consent, tell me that they will refund me (with 4% less due to fees LOL) and never received the refund.

The customer support is the worst I've ever seen and they have fake articles on internet to make you buy the software and realize you can't do what they promised.

Typically, services of this nature send notifications regarding payments and such. I decided to give their 14-day trial a shot and provided my card details. However, despite not using the service, I discovered by chance through my PayPal account that they had been charging me for months. Concerned, I reached out to their support team and requested a refund for all the charges incurred during these months of non-usage. After signing up and testing the service for a single day, I found it unhelpful for my recruitment scraping needs and updates from our clients' websites. Consequently, I ceased using it, deleted it from my laptop, and completely forgot about it.

Unfortunately, they declined to refund my money. It's important to be cautious and avoid signing up for a 14-day trial, or if you do, make sure to cancel immediately. I have never encountered issues like this before, as most companies understand when customers unintentionally forget to remove their card details and haven't utilized the service. Usually, they are willing to provide refunds even after a few months. In short, I recommend steering clear of this particular service.

I have been using Octoparse for last 4-5 years. It scrapes the data beautifully and gives me the desired results

The best part it is very user friendly and ultimate No-Code experience for non-techies.

Highly recommend it

I've used both their free and paid versions and find the software very useful for collating information. I did require a refund at one point and whilst it wasn't a smooth process, it was issued so I remained satisfied.

Have to install software and doesn't work in the end.
Most predefined scrappers ask you to pay 90$/month upfront even tough they probably don't work

This software takes far too much cpu and is not made well. There are other options for data extraction so would recommend using other software.

Be aware cancelling via their site doesn’t always cancel so you end up getting charged and then they don’t want to refund the first month!

These terms are unfair, and getting a refund is hard. Currently going via PayPal to try and resolve.
