They are not the cheapest but you get fantastic service and in our view well worth the extra cost. We recently had a claim and they were great, good service and nice to talk with areal person who were really kind and helpful. A special mention to Jackie at Woodhall Spa who went over and beyond. We will be moving the rest of our insurance policies to them when they are due.

We had a major claim due to a tenant completely wrecking our property and leaving it uninhabitable, which just happened to be our main residence.

The damage was entirely caused by their pet dogs, we were initially told that we probably wouldn't be covered, but because we didnt have a pet exclusion on our policy they paid out. The Loss Adjusters were brilliant and organised an urgent payment within a week. They even contacted us a month later to monitor progress and paid out a further claim for additional damage we had found in the meantime.

Never claimed on house insurance before - never needed to - but when I did, the service from NFU Mutual was outstanding: helpful, courteous people on the phone, going the extra mile to help, in a difficult situation.

I recently had to make a claim on my NFU household insurance. It was for the loss of a watch, which I had not specified, but that was not a problem. The people I spoke to were helpful and friendly right from the start and thought they went the extra mile in helping us replace the lost item. Have been with NFU for many years, and while it may not be the cheapest, the quality of service, when it comes to actually making a claim, is very well worth it. Great company and great people.

We have used the NFU for many of our insurance needs . Today confirmed that using the NFU for vehicle insurance is a sensible option. Not only do they provide great cover but you interact with a human being who is working for you on getting the best for you . Admittedly they can look to be more expensive than some other online companies but this has proved time and time again to be a false thought. When dealing with insurance coverage you just want to get it and only pay attention to the cost. This is a valid reading but what the NFU do over and above what these other faceless companies do is immeasurable. The attention to detail and the quality of service must and does have a cost but ultimately as the olde saying goes you get what you pay for. I would not hesitate to recommend them for your insurance needs.

I have been with them less than a year. After 6 months i had a small shunt in France. They sorted everything on one 5 minute call. Last month i had my camper van stolen from my friends driveway. They were absolutely fantastic. Two telephone calls in total less than one hour. They paid out exactly what i paid for the van. Following a recent review that I gave NFU a week ago they have replied via this media and just said ‘contact the ombudsman’.

That is exactly what you do not want from your insurance company, but this is absolutely typical of the non service I have received throughout this claim.

The left hand appears to have no idea what the right hand is doing and most definitely Sophie at NFU who put her name to the reply did not read my review properly and certainly has not read the correspondence in my case. Unfortunately there is no mention where to contact anyone just the arrogance of the comment go away and ‘contact the ombudsman’. As you choose to reply to me via this public media other potential or existing customers will have the benefit of my experience what they can expect in the future.

I have accepted that you are not prepared to cover me for the water damage caused by the burst water tank in my property. That was not what my last review was about.

I am not prepared to accept the damage caused by your contractors when you initially accepted the claim as your responsibility and large areas of perfectly good carpet were ripped out unnecessarily and now you are not prepared to reimburse me, discuss the matter or even reply to my emails.

NFU have been coming back to me for 5 months on this and I have sent 4 chasing emails through their appointed loss adjuster who again on 8th May replied ‘Thank you for your email, I have chased the Insurers for their response’.

To me it is quite extraordinary that initially NFU accepted that this was their claim and then a week later changed their minds. I received a telephone call from their appointed loss adjuster telling me that they will no longer honour the claim.

Ok, well what about your appointed company entering my property and doing things their way that I thought at the time was excessive. I thought, well I’m insured so they will put it all right.

Then they just walk away and leave me with the mess and all of the costs when they should not have been in my property in the first place !

Then to top it all NOBODY at NFU can make a decision or even have the courtesy to communicate with me about this for 5 months.

Surely any reader even within NFU must think that this is extraordinary.

The best insurer around for my house and its contents, as well as my car. Unfortunately, I recently had a water leak in my bathroom. I need not to have worried - the NFU were absolutely ACE in every way, from me making my claim, the care taken of my claim, to the workforce the NFU provided. 10/10 for this wonderful insurance company.

What a fantastic Company ! Quick positive quotes, they were very easy to understand spoke precisely. My Policy arrived the following day, I was also told if needed a no charge instalment plan ( No interest)

I have had full support from my agent and from people sent to check up on my abilities following my accident. I rate NFU insurance 10 out of 10

Today I requested a quote for comprehensive car insurance and a lady phoned back and asked 2 questions one of which was had I made a claim to which I replied yes ( a minor bump) to which she said as you've had a claim and are over 70 we can't quote that's ridiculous in fact AGEISM.
She never asked details of the claim. Not good business practice, be AWARE.

We've insured with NFU Mutual since about 1972 and they have always been efficient and fair in their dealings with us.

Poor company was insured with them 25 years farm insurance house cars they had £1000s over them years maybe £250000 I had 1 non fault accident they wanted to pay but couldn't get the other party to agree and tried to charge me I refused and they tripled my car insurance. I had to get ombudsman involved to get compensation witch was granted disgusting service after all them years with no claims. Don't bother there advert is total lies never again.

NFU staff were helpful and friendly and the claim was quickly reimbursed once completed.

I have been with NFU for 16 years and this week made my second claim.
Arrived back last Tuesday from 10 days holiday to find my freezer had completely defrosted a week before due to a power cut that threw the circuit breaker.
I called on Wednesday morning to the Warminster branch and got straight through. The agent called me straight back to confirm I was covered and asked me for a list of the contents with replacement costs and a description of the freezer.
We did that later that afternoon. By 1800 it was confirmed that we would receive all I had claimed for less a £50 excess.
But the most incredible thing was that the cash was in my Bank later on Thursday.
Wonderful service , wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.

NFU are very knowledgeable and easy to work with if you have a claim.

Treated like criminals and pretty much had sort the whole claim out ourselves with no support from NFU !!!!!
