I saw Mr Cheung and was diagnosed with two Basal Cell Carcinomas, one on left lower eyelid and one right lower eyelid and both needed to be removed. My anxiety levels at this point were running high.
Hughes Flap/Moh’s surgery has now recently been completed at Russels Hall Hospital and I would like to extend my gratitude for the excellent results that have been achieved.
Mr Cheung is a very dedicated, highly skilled surgeon with an admirable manner and I couldn’t have been in better hands.

I under went a bilateral lower eyelid blepharoplasty with Mr David Cheung back in September last year . Pre surgery I had a consultation with Mr Cheung where he took a lot of care and attention in explaining everything simply and clearly. His mannerisms and professionalism put me at ease at going ahead with the procedure. During the surgery which was under local anaesthetic local I had no worries and made to feel at ease by Mr Cheung and his colleague who kept me chatting throughout the whole procedure.
Post surgery a great deal of care was taken with a follow up phone call by the Westbourne centre and was assured that any concern I had a nurse would be available to answer any questions.This then was followed up by an email from Mr Cheung making himself available to answer any concerns. Now four months on I am very happy with the outcome and would highly recommend Mr Cheung with anyone thinking of any sort of eye surgery.

No need for me to do research as l knew Mr David Cheung was the right surgeon for me. Getting older l needed to see him for his advice. Having been given the chance for surgery after a consultation, l can wholeheartedly recommend him. He is a true professional and displayed an exceptional talent. I had to have my Basal Cell Carcinoma removed from my eyelid and reconstruction involving a skin graft in June.
David has a very relaxed caring consultation style and the patient is put at ease straightaway he explains what is to be done and you have so much confidence in him at all times. You are not afraid to ask anything and he always listens to what you have to say.
The surgery was painfree. I did not need to take any pain relief at any point.
I recovered from the op quickly and when there was a problem I contacted David by email and he personally sorted it for me and contacted me to make sure everything was ok.
My family and friends were all amazed at how good my eye looked.
I have just been discharged and I look back completely happy with everything from the first time I met David in May.It has been my best experience in the NHS and cannot thank you enough.

My experience was so positive and the outcome amazing. I had my under eye “bags” done and everyone says how it’s made me look younger. Everyday it makes me happy. David was so personable, so professional, knowledgeable and reassuring explaining everything thoroughly. The operation was so quick and painfree. I followed his advice and the bruising went away so quickly. I was driving 3 days later and back looking after my grandchildren after 10 days. Aftercare was fabulous. David answered my 2 e mails within a few hours. The hospital phoned in the evening after my operation to check I was ok and David mailed me too. I would recommend anyone to have this done. For years I tried to just accept my hereditary eye bags but the constant comments about looking tired, even when I felt full of energy, eventually convinced me to consider surgery. I write this review now because the ones I read during my research helped me make my decision and this one can help others make theirs. Also, leaving a good review for David Cheung is the least I can do for the confidence he restored in me and I am forever grateful.

My sister recommended David Cheung as she had the same hereditary condition and I looked into the matter further. Once I made up my mind, I booked a consultation and went in with an open mind. I was very impressed with Mr Cheung’s knowledge and expertise. He explained lower blepharoplasty to me in a way I’d understand and took his time with me. I understood the full procedure, including the risks and post op recovery process. I was given all the paperwork to read during my own time and he told me to contact him again if I needed to. I was very confident I was in good hands and went ahead with surgery.

I felt anxious on surgery day because I’ve never had surgery or been under sedation before. However, the team were brilliant and professional, and the care I received was outstanding. I was looked after so well from the minute I walked in to the minute I walked out. The anaesthetist explained what the anaesthetic will feel like so there were no surprises. Everything was explained to me, even the simple parts I didn’t need explaining, which helped to make me feel comfortable and at ease. I am very squeamish and did not like the thought of having my eyes operated on but with sedation, I vaguely remember anything about the surgery. I was awake before surgery and then I woke up afterwards, only remembering talking twice during the procedure. It was like I went to sleep. Overall, it was nowhere as bad as I had imagined it would be. I don’t even know what I worried about now.

My eyes were swollen after surgery, like I had just come out of the ring with the a professional boxer but I expected that. I was told about the swelling and bruising but I was surprised that it wasn’t painful. I felt slight discomfort only. I received a courtesy email from Mr Cheung later that day and was called by a nurse at night to check up on me. I followed the post op recovery advice and when I saw Mr Cheung again on day 7 after surgery, he told me I had fully recovered and could go back to normal life. Only I didn’t rush to do that because I had another week of leave to enjoy. I was impressed and quite surprised at how quickly I recovered.

Now that I am nearly 3 months post op, I am still so happy with the results. I don’t look tired and I feel so much more confident. Applying make up now looks flawless and it’s so refreshing to wake up and not see eye bags. I don’t have to have a ‘good side’ anymore when talking photos and my eyes are not the first thing I see when I catch my reflection in anything.

Not finding Mr Cheung sooner is my only regret.

I have recently had a lower blepharoplasty, after doing a lot of research for a number of years, I finally plucked up the courage to make an appointment with Mr Cheung, and haven’t looked back since.
From the first consultation which took about an hour, I knew I’d made the right decision. Mr Cheung is very professional and thorough, explaining exactly what needs to be done and how.
I knew exactly what to expect on the day of surgery, Mr Cheung and his team at the Westbourne Clinic told me at every stage what was happening, and when I left I was given eye drops, pain killers, aftercare instructions and an emergency contact number.
The healing process takes time, mainly swelling, bruising and blurred vision which I knew, and took daily photos to see the improvement. The aftercare is excellent, I emailed Mr Cheung on a couple of occasions after surgery and he always replied.
I’m now nearly 12 weeks post surgery, and delighted with the results. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Mr Cheung and his team at the Westbourne Clinic.

My recent day surgery to repair bottom eyelid that had begun to droop was successfully repaired with day surgery at Russell's Hall Hospital.
The short operation was skillfully performed by David Cheung.
My surgeon numbed the area prior to the op. and I felt no pain or discomfort whilst he did the repair.
On the day of the op, Mr Cheung and his excellent team provided a calm, reassuring and caring environment for the surgery.
I saw my surgeon prior to the op when he explained what he would be doing, and what I should take care with until my follow up appointment 2 weeks later. I was given medication, pads and an eye shield to aid my recovery.
Having just been back to see Mr Cheung, he was pleased that my eye was improving and assured me that after a few weeks, my eyelid should be back to normal.
Being given reassurance, that if I still had any problem I should contact his secretary, was again extremely calming and positive and he would like to thank him for excellent work.

I recently had an upper bilateral Blepharoplasty performed by Mr Cheung. From the moment I walked into see Mr Cheung he put me at my ease. He was highly professional and talked me through the options available to me in a way I found very easy to understand. I have local anaesthetic and the procedure took around 45 minutes. I did not feel any pain during or after my procedure. I am one week on and although still a little swollen the stitches are out and I am thrilled with the result. I would highly recommend Mr Cheung and the Westbourne Clinic.

After extensive research on the internet (the good, the bad and the ugly) and contemplating the procedure for some years, I recently underwent Asian blepheroplasty with Mr David Cheung. I was fed-up with my eyes becoming hooded over time and looking tired or grumpy when my face was at rest.

The initial consultation lasted an hour, was comprehensive and Mr Cheung took the time to fully explain the procedure, risks, recovery period and the outcome I was to expect. He was factual, non-judgemental, answered all my questions. We viewed examples of previous cases, so I could visualise the outcome I was most likely to achieve. I left feeling confident that I had found the right person to trust my eyes and this procedure to.

The procedure itself was surprisingly painless and not as bad as I expected. I was extremely nervous on the day, but the atmosphere in the theatre was relaxed, friendly and the nurse held my hand throughout. I had local anaesthetic and had worked myself into a frenzy before the operation on how painful the injections were going to be. I worried needlessly. Other than what felt like a minor pinprick at the inner corners of my eyes, the rest of the injections were pain free. Having your eyebrows waxed is worse. The procedure took about an hour, during which Mr Cheung and the medical team made light conversation and the time went quickly. After a short time in the recovery area, I was able to go home, armed with after-care instructions and medication including antibiotics and eye drops.

I am not quite two weeks into the recovery process and my eyes are still quite swollen. However, having recently attended my one week follow up and stitch removal, Mr Cheung reassured me that I am making good progress and I am feeling confident that once I am out of the recovery period, I will have a nice result and the outcome I am hoping for. I just have to be patient with my recovery. Knowing what to expect and having everything explained to me has helped enormously in understanding what stage of my recovery I am at.

If you require a procedure related to the eyes, I cannot think of anyone else I would recommend as highly as Mr Cheung. As a surgeon he is highly experienced, meticulous, precise and in the area of cosmetic surgery cares about scientific precision with artistry for a visually pleasing outcome. As a human he is kind, understanding in the care of his patients and the level of communication throughout the process is second to none. Any question or worry, however big or small is dealt with quickly. Throughout this process I have emailed Mr Cheung on practicalities, seeking reassurance and no manner of questions related to the surgery and after care. He has always been extremely quick to respond, patient and factual in all his replies. Reassurance is really important through this process and I cannot be more grateful for the fast communication throughout.

The service before and after the procedure was excellent, and the results were better than I could have hoped for. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Cheung's services.

I met Mr Cheung for the first time in 2019. I was recovering from a very traumatic period following the death of my youngest son. My eyes at that time were very painful due to my bottom lids turning in as a result of a few years of the twenty four hour nursing of my son with little sleep. I was not in a good place physically or emotionally. At once Mr Cheung instilled trust and confidence. I was helped back to health. My recent experience has been the same. From first consultation through surgery to final post op stitch removal. Mr Cheung explains every step clearly giving as much time and information as is needed. He is kind and caring making every step pain free and relaxed. I thank him every day for bringing me back to eye health.

It's a shame you can only leave 5 stars on here, because Mr Chung is better than first class as far as I am concerned.
He has, so far, removed two cancers from the eye areas. The first was undertaken at Corbetts Hospital, Stourbridge. On the right lower eye, he removed a reasonably sized skin cancer. I was petrified and that's probably an under statement! From the first second he made me feel settled and reassured. His whole team were exceptional in their attention and obvious commitment to the job in hand. Mr Chung performed this excision with the utmost care and skill that I barely realised he had finished, even though I was awake. The end result is that the scar, even though situated in a clearly visible area, cannot be seen.
The second cancer was on my left eye lid. Barely noticeable on the day of surgery, he performed the most amazing operation, removing all of the cancer with precision and care. This was performed at Russell's Hall Hospital, Dudley. Again, through the whole procedure, Mr Chung put my nerves totally at ease and within an hour it was completed. I have nothing but praise for this very talented and committed young man. I hope that someone about to undergo surgery with him, reads my review, and that this eases all apprehension. After extensive research I decided to book a consultation with Mr David Cheung for Xanthelasma removal on my upper eyelid. Communication with Mr Cheung was excellent and very quick.
During consultation Mr Cheung examined the area and offered various options. He was very thorough and took the time to explain the pros and cons of each option which helped me to make a decision.
The surgery was over and above what I expected. The team were very welcoming and ensured I was comfortable. I expected some discomfort during excision of the lesion but didn’t feel a thing. I was pleasantly surprised at how quick and pain free it was. The anaesthetic worked wonders.
I had stitches that were to be taken out a week later. There was no swelling, bruising or pain.
I was given great aftercare instructions and knew Mr Cheung was only a phone call away if I was concerned about anything.
I returned to work 2 days later working from home.
I am really impressed and pleased by the end result. For better than I expected. I would highly recommend Mr Cheung, he is highly experienced and fantastic at what he does.

After one and a half years of eye appointments, both NHS and private consultants, I finally ended up in the place where my eye trauma was fully explained to me and was given the absolute best advice possible by David on what I needed to clarify before having the eye surgery I had previously been offered. David's holistic approach puts what is in the patient's best interest first and that is gold. I am now confident of my new NHS surgery plan, the fog has lifted! The communication honestly made me feel like I had someone in my corner after all this time.

On meeting Mr Cheung I found him to have a good sense of humour while being very professional. During my surgery a trainee was overseen by Mr Cheung. I felt reasurred and in good hands as to how Mr Cheung was guiding his student, and the student absorbing the guidance given.

Excellent service from Dr Cheung from start to finish. The procedure went well and I love the new results. Dr Cheung replied to all emails and the communication was very good. Really cannot fault anything. Fantastic surgeon.
