I finally decided to have a lower blepharoplasty after years of being told how tired I looked and feeling self conscious about my eyes to the point that I constantly wore sunglasses. I had put off having surgery for a long time because I was scared of the procedure, but I honestly wish I had done it sooner.
The results have been amazing and I feel so much more confident. Everything about the process with Dr David Cheung and his team was brilliant. From the initial consultations where everything was explained clearly, to the surgery itself which was much easier and far less scary than I had imagined. I felt at ease the whole time.
The aftercare was also explained very clearly and the healing process was smooth. I was out and about after a few days with only slight swelling and minimal bruising. I am now four months post op and I am so happy with the final results.

I had lower blepharoplasty with Mr David Cheung in November 2025 and the results are Amazing three months on, there's no visible scarring and the improvement has been life-changing. When I met Mr Cheung he was friendly, professional and made me feel at ease listening to what my problem was.
Thorough examination and discussed at length the options for my surgery.I was given written information and emailed lots of information what to expect pre and post operatively.
The day of surgery, bilateral upper lid blepharoplasty and bilateral browpexy,local anaesthetic.
All staff at Westbourne centre were friendly and explained everything.
A bit weird lying in an operating theatre awake but made to feel at ease.Apart from a bit of discomfort from local being administered operation was painless.
Aftercare was explained and backed up with printed information.
Swelling was minimal due to following cold pack regime religiously and sleeping sat up.
I felt well looked after post op as Mr Cheung emailed me the evening of surgery . I was given contact numbers 24 hour contact. I did not need these as uneventful recovery. Follow up phone call .
I would not hesitate to recommend Mr Cheung .
11 days post op today and just had my sutures out so early days and still some bruising.

Mr Cheung is an excellent specialist - knowledgeable, thorough, and very clear in his explanations. He is also very kind and reassuring, which made a stressful situation much easier to cope with.

From the moment of first appointment to final discharge, Mr Cheung was kind polite and extremely courtesy towards the needs of my mother, whilst type he would talk through what was being entered onto the system, which was a relief - none of that not knowing what going on. David has changed my life

I travelled from Glasgow to Birmingham in March for a consultation with David after years and years of hating how my under eyes looked and thankfully, not having luck with other surgeons in my area. I had done a lot of research and David came highly recommended by so many.

I knew straight away David was the surgeon for me after the consultation. My consultation with him was around 45 mins whereas with other surgeons I was very rushed. David took the time to assess my eyes, the anatomy and whether I would be suitable for a lower blepharoplasty - which I was. David took the time to explain in detail the intricacies of my eye anatomy and the risks involved in the procedure.

I decided to book my surgery for around 6 months after my consultation and during that time period I had around a million questions which David always took the time to answer in a timely fashion. I found his approach to really put me at ease around having the surgery.

When it came to the surgery day I was so surprised at how quick the actual surgery was! I think I fell asleep for around 15 minutes but was awake for the remainder and just felt quite out of it / did not register what was going on so I continuously felt very comfortable throughout. Anyone who is wanting this surgery but is nervous about being awake then I just want you to know that it is absolutely fine. David and his team were amazing at making me feel really calm and comfortable.

I was provided with everything I needed to ensure that I had a swift recovery. David checked in with me post surgery and our follow up appointment also showed that I was healing really well and right on track.

I'm still experiencing some residual swelling which is very normal at this stage but I am so excited to see my final results after the three months! I already have so much confidence in myself and I wish I had done this sooner.

I've worn an artificial eye for 50 years after being born blind in my left eye. I'd like to improve the 'look' of my eye, as a combination of getting older and the type of op I had way back in the '70s has led to my artificial eye appearing more recessed/sunken in the socket and the lower lid drooping. Research led me to Mr David Cheung, and I'm so pleased that I booked my consultation. After providing background details, David explained in minute detail about the eye and socket, the operation (even back in '70s when my op took place!) and also gave me answers to many questions I've had over the years, all of which was incredibly helpful. David is a highly experienced and professional consultant and surgeon. From my initial consultation to the post-operation review (an eye related operation), David has shown his professionalism and provided me with assurance throughout the process. David is easy to talk to and has always shown his humane side caring his patient(s). He is responsive to all my enquiries and is willing to involve patient(s) in the decision making process e.g., treatment options.

Overall, my medical / surgical experience with David has been excellent.

A year ago I was diagnosed, at the age of 85, with Bowen's Disease which is an early form of skin cancer.
The affected area was around my right eye and on the eyelid.
I was referred to Mr David Cheung at Russell's Hall Hospital, Dudley, UK.
During my consultation, after a full examination of the area concerned, he explained in depth the procedure that was needed to cure the problem.
His friendly, reassuring manner gave me total confidence in him.
The procedure would be done over two consecutive days.
On day one the affected area of skin was removed. Biopsies were done to ensure that the cancerous cells were completely eradicated.
I went home afterwards.
On day two reconstructive surgery was completed with consumate skill. No skin graft was needed.
Each procedure was done under local anaesthetic and at no time was I in any pain or discomfort.
Mr. Cheung talked me through everything that would happen on both days before I went to theatre.
During both procedures Mr. Cheung chatted to me which was very calming.
I saw Mr Cheung again one week after my operations were completed ti ascertain thst all was well.
The stitches were removed one week after that.
During the healing and recovery period, which for me was about two weeks, I had no pain or problem, whatsoever.
Family, and anyone else who saw the result of Mr.Cheung's amazing work on what was a very large area, were amazed by the lack of visible evidence that serious skin reconstruction had taken place.
I will add that whilst dealing with my cancerous area Mr.Cheung also dealt with my ectropian eyelid which had been irritating me for a long time.
Almost a year later I am now discharged from Mr. Cheung's care. My life is so much better knowing that the skin cancer problem, and my irritating eyelid, have been so successfully dealt with by a fantastic, skilled and caring surgeon.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Life-Changing Experience – Thank You David Cheung!

After years of looking tired and older than I felt, I finally decided enough was enough. No matter how many expensive creams I tried, nothing made a real difference to my upper and lower eye bags. It became clear that for real, lasting results – surgery was the answer.

From the moment I met David Cheung, I felt in safe hands. He was incredibly professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain everything clearly, making me feel completely at ease. The entire process felt surprisingly straightforward – honestly, I now liken it to getting a good haircut when it comes to self-grooming. It’s just part of taking care of yourself and feeling your best.

The recovery was quicker than I expected, and thanks to using scar gel consistently, the scars are now almost completely invisible. I feel fresher, more confident, and like myself again – just a better-rested version!

If you’re fed up with tired eyes and wasted money on useless creams, I can’t recommend David Cheung highly enough. This has been one of the best self-care decisions I’ve ever made.

Noticed a little hard lump in my right upper eyelid, which I had for a number of years became more noticeable and felt it was getting bigger. Was referred to see Mr Cheung. Which I found to be a very pleasant experience, He performed a biopsy, The procedure was done very neatly. Mr Cheung explained he would be in touch with the results. Next visit was told by Mr Cheung that the biopsy shown to be a slow growing skin cancer and advised the growth to be removed. I was concerned about the appearance of my eye after removal, But was reassured by Mr Cheung confidence that he would do a good job. He completed the removal, needed a couple of stitches which were removed by Mr Cheung the following week. All the growth had been removed by eyelid was left looking perfect. Would highly recommend Mr Cheung without any hesitation. Kept in touch with phone calls checking on my recovery, which I experienced know issues what’s so ever. Then discharge from his care.

On the 4th august 2025 I had my bilateral upper lid blepharoplasty and ptosis correction procedure from my first appointment everything was explained what needed to be done to my eyelids DR Cheung explained the procedure to me and he made me feel confident to agree to have the procedure done on the day I was very nervous and I would like to thank the nurses that was there on the day and specially to DR Cheung for being so friendly and putting me at ease I am so pleased how I can see better and see my eyes more I am really pleased I had them done I would highly recommend DR Cheung what a skilled man he is and a credit to the NHS I would like to thank DR Cheung personally for being so friendly and caring and how grateful I am he did the procedure and what a different it’s made to me

When surgery is required and nerves can get the better of you, humour and humility to communicate, advise and reassure are of the utmost importance.
Mr Cheung was all of these and more.
My eye surgery was performed with care and attention and in just over a week, bruises all disapeared and eyelids now expose the blue eyes I haven't been able to see, for a long time.
Thank Mr Cheung and staff, for making me look 20 years younger.

I was advised not to have this operation as the scarring would be upsetting. I did a back ground check on Mr David Cheung and made my mind up that he is the best.The results have enhanced my life and I am very grateful to him

Mr David Cheung is an excellent skilful ophthalmologist/surgeon. I am an anxious and worrying person. Mr Cheung was caring and patient towards me by answering my questions and reassuring me, which made me feel better before and after bleph operation. It was easy to get hold off Mr Cheung with any concerns, he replied very quickly. He gave me great advice and personally emailed me post op care, I felt well cared for. What I like about Mr Cheung is he is genuine, I could ask him anything, he is happy to answer it with a smile on his face.
The local anaesthetic was good, no pain. All the staff involved was wonderful too.

Anyone who wants a good eye specialist for eye area, David Cheung is the one.

After being bothered by ageing under eye bags for several years I finally plucked up the courage to do something about it when I had also started to notice drooping of my upper eye lids too.

Whilst researching surgeons, even though he is based 2 hours away from me, I felt immediately drawn to David Cheung, not only by the photos and reviews from previous patients, but also by the way his personality came across.

On meeting him, my gut feeling was proved correct. He is very warm, personable, professional, and put me at ease straight away.

The consultation was detailed and thorough and by the end I knew I felt confident and ready to book the procedure.

I needed both upper and lower blepharoplasty plus ptosis correction for both eyes.

I was very nervous on the day, but found David and every single person on his surgical team to be exceptionally reassuring and comforting.

I chose local anaesthetic plus sedation but the upper bleph and ptosis were done first, before the sedation, so that you can open your eyes when instructed to check they are even.

I was a bit anxious for the first part without sedation but it was bearable and not painful.

Recovery was as expected but I did need 3 weeks off work - I have a client facing role plus did have the 3 procedures.
I had a lot of swelling which I understand not everyone gets as badly and needed more time to rest my eyes and look after them.

I could easily email David with any concerns or questions during recovery and was very impressed with his speedy replies. This was really helpful and reassuring.

I am 3 months post op now and the results are great and just keep getting better and better.

Friends and family have been very complimentary and I am so pleased I found the courage to do it finally.

I cannot recommend David highly enough and can absolutely confirm his surgical skills are as exceptional as his people skills.
