5 lights ordered 12th, 2 delivered 17th. Electrician booked for 23rd so called 20th to find out when remaining 3 could be expected. Person I spoke to said to send an email and he would resolve. Confirmed email address. Emailed 20th. Followed up 22nd & 25th. No response, no lights. Have had to cancel remaining elec work as can’t have electrician back until all parts on site. Holding up an entire kitchen. First 2 have been fitted so can’t even send back and buy something else from somebody else. Very poor.

Easy order and fast delivery. Unit well made if a little less robust than the unit it replaced but quite adequate.

I've been using Mr Resistor for about 20 years now and their products are all well made and fairly priced.

They're also very knowledgeable and have good aftermarket care.

Avoid Mr Resistor, lighting design is very poor and customer service is dreadful. Orders, even high value orders are not tracked, they get lost and they have Mr Resistor have no idea what has been sent and what's outstanding. When you chase them they are unhelpful, unprofessional and flippant.
Their lighting designer(s) are clearly not trained lighting designers. Faults in my system included, incompatibility of items provided, not enough lights sand/or light not in the right place, switches not in the right place, (have to leave the room to turn on a light) etc. I paid for a lighting design, what a waste of money.

As electrical contractors we were duped by this firm into purchasing a wireless 'wisebox' system for a high end property development. They sent lighting designers at £250 who didn't have a clue, the system never worked properly from day one, constant issues. Even their technical staff seemed embarrassed with the technology. No refunds, apologies or anything, the only offer was to send an engineer at £250 a day to sort it. The company was an absolute joke to deal with, I should've taken them to court tbf. Anyway I had to compromise with the client and ended up losing 3k on the lighting installation. NEVER EVER AGAIN. Wisebox systems are only good for the garden. DO NOT USE THIS FIRM.

Beware, if they don’t have the right bulbs in stock they’ll send you ones you don’t want without consulting you first. Still trying to get my replacements over a month later. They rarely respond to emails and then keep asking the same question even though you told them everything over the phone. Generally not worth the ag ordering from them. I will not be using them again.

For in stock items, delivery was fast and communication adequate. But some items in my order are (still) on back order, and they simply do not reply to emails asking for updates. Items have been dripping in via APC deliveries on random days for nearly 2 weeks -you'd think it'd be cheaper for them to send a single delivery on an agreed date, but given that they refuse to communicate, that's impossible.

For fairness I write an update to the review i posted in October.

I did get my refund and i accept that the delay was caused by individual vacations. Mr Resistor was apologetic.

I said i would never use them again. Well, sheepishly i inform to say I have since used them. I haven't experienced any problems with deliveries and the Astro downlights received before work fine. I have yet to install the latest order of downlights but I expect no problems.

I’ll never use these guys again! Their website had problems and they took four payments off me for one order. To their credit they called me up to inform me and that they would refund me three of the payments (total about £820) but I haven’t yet received (it’s been 10 days). I’ve had to chase them and they said the person responsible was on holiday. They sent me emails but I still haven’t received my refund. I feel like I’m being fobbed off too! In my experience with other retailers, refunds are painless and quick.

Ordered the part I needed, assuming it was in stock. After 3 weeks and not receiving any notifications or receiving the product I called. Was fobbed off that it was on its way and will be with me in a week, so hang tight. Replicated this 3 times (over 4 weeks) and still not got it. Hilariously, in the last call I was told it was because 'Italy' was on holiday and it was my fault!!! So, cancelled the order and praying I'll get my circa £100 back. Shocking service, if you must use, please make sure what you want to order is in stock. This is a perfect example of why online shopping fails!!!

Shocking technical -not-help line.
I called them 3 times about a wisebox:
1. I have been put on hold for 15 minutes
2. after asking for a product, the guy on the other side pretended he couldn't hear me and within 2 seconds put down the phone.
3. I called back straight away and was told I must wait another 15 minutes.

Mick and Jamie at the Fulham branch are really knowledgable and friendly. Been going for years. If anything isn't in the shop, it's there next day. Website very good too.

Do you have an image of what I’m suppose to have, the said CAPs which were An extra £1 each you said I needed, don’t know what they are or look like.
I’m beginning to think it’s s fraud, you order something then tell me I need something else which is not priced correctly on your web site a £ each so that’s £120 for something I haven’t seen other than I’ve paid you through your bank account.

Disappointed. Ordered lights which were available, paid for next premium delivery (£15) because we needed them quick. Items arrived as standard delivery despite paying extra. Called when delivery date past and was told when the items did arrive to request a refund for the extra delivery charge. I did just that and was told I was confused! No refund and left wondering what happened to customer service!

Absolutely amazing service. We had an issue with a light and it was resolved immediately.

Ali in the technical department was amazing with the support he gave on the installation of a replacement wise box for our garden lighting. He really knows his stuff and spent time helping us program it in. Highly recommend Ali at mr Resistor.
