Kate and her mom are awful. Combative angry defensive and full of BS.

They lie and lie and lie and Kate has the audacity to reply to reviews knowing they are liars.

I spent money for skates I am unable to use after a week. No sorry, No care, No resolution just arguing about things that did not happen. In the end I had to go to Moxi and Ridell manufacturer's who were disappointed that MFs weren't replying and requested all correspondence to see if they can assist. Don't be fooled by the fake smiles and prompt action when purchasing she doesnt keep that energy and won't give a F after your money has been taken. Her and her mum who run this store need effective intense customer service training immediately.

I visited the shop last week as I want to learn to rollerskate. Kate was amazing and spent over an hour helping me choose the right skates and protective gear. She was really knowledgeable and checked everything fitted well. She also knew about all the local skating groups and made me feel I'd be welcomed as complete beginner. I've been back since to pick up some extra bits and the man serving was really helpful. We'll be taking the kids for skates soon and i'd highly recommend a visit to anyone in the area who wants to learn.

Great little gem of a company!
Glady search engine threw in this site. Considering its a small business, the prices for the items I was looking for were extremely competitive with the bigger sites.
I live in the Highlands and despite my location the items arrived very quickly and in excellent condition.
After going to leave a review I has a nosey through the negatives! Very surprised as they seem like a great little company.
For what it's worth, if you have a bad experience with a smaller business than the giants. Be nice, be polite and try to understand that you are a customer, your buying something and sales pay thier bills. They want your custom and aren't going to purposely do anything to "F you over". I've always been told you catch more flies with honey and that is completely true when it comes to customer service. Who wants to help a someone that screams and shouts at them.
Sorry for the rant but bratty attitudes and the inability to understand that smaller businesses aren't going to be like an Amazon wearhouse are killing them off.

Took our daughter in for her first skates..
Kates Mum helped us and she was soooo helpful and absolutely brilliant with Tia ..
Fitted her skates made sure her protective equipment was correct she took her time and made sure Tia was absolutely happy with her choices.
One happy girl who can't wait to try all her stuff out on Saturday..

Initially I found ANOTHER company (based in London), who claimed to build-up customers own skates...

After purchasing a very expensive Riedell plate from this company (NOT MTS) and a very brief e-mail exchange, claiming they were short staffed and extremely busy, my e-mails were ignored and I began to seriously doubt the competence of this London based company...

Having had a very positive, helpful first experience with Moma Trucker purchasing expensive wheel bearings and a toe-stop, I noticed that they also built-up customers own skates...

On contacting Kate she couldn't have been more helpful and willingly agreed to do my build-up, despite my having ordered only the 2 items mentioned above from them, and not the boots or the plates etc...The charges were amazingly low for the amount of work involved and way lower than competitors prices...

We dealt entirely by post, as I am too far from Exeter to visit their skate shop, and I was delighted with the result which was done with great accuracy and precision, following my my own instructions to the letter ! ...

I have no connection whatsoever with MTS other than the aforementioned...

Having come to know both Kate and her Mom Steph briefly I was very shocked to read the bad Trustpilot reviews here which do NOT reflect my own experiences...I think it's important to bear in mind the following points:

- The long, painstaking responses to customers from Kate in reply to their criticisms explaining her side of the story in great detail...

- That - as with the company in London I dealt with briefly - they are a small 2 woman team dealing with an unprecedented explosion of interest in roller skating due to the pandemic, which has also created a shortage of components worldwide...

And finally, as Kate has already pointed out, they were initially unaware that they had a Trustpilot review facility...

My advice: do not hesitate to order or deal with this excellent small, specialist company...They are true professionals ! ...

Wheels I needed were in stock when I couldn’t get them anywhere else, ordering was straightforward and dispatched to me in 2days arriving within a week.

Don’t be put off by the rude and unhelpful reviews below. If the worst thing in your life is that your ‘light up wheels’ don’t light up or someone doesn’t answer an email about a pair of skates in a timely manner… I’d say you have a pretty privileged existence!

This store is a small family run business run by a mum of two. If you’re going to order from here be patient and most of all be kind people!!!!

Shockingly unprofessional. Having pruchased a pair of BONT rolerskates on the 27th July 2021 and deciding to pay with KLARNA. "Mutha-Fu**er" skates (MTS) could give me no indication of when my order would arrive. Upon contacting them again and requesting more information regarding my order, I received little to no contact from them. When they did respond, they didn't answer my very spcific questions. They did use every logical-fallacy argument in the book to duck & dive from answering my questions. A common one was BREXIT was holding up the delivery; another was that there was only one person running BONT-Europe in France, so they were behind with the orders (total BS by the way). I was then told that only one person was responsible for handling all the emails at MTS; not my problem; maybe consider employing somebody competent with actual customer-service expereince. We are talking about a mickey-mouse skate-shop not a multi-billion dollar blue-chip FT 500 listed company :)

I then intitiated a cancellation with Kate at MTS, once again no confirmation of my request from them. It was at this stage that I instigated a return with KLARNA. I then informed MTS of my decision and was given more BS reasons as to why my order/cancellation was taking so long.

I was even told that BONT were so highly 'sought-after' at the moment; that was the reason for the delay; the BS is really stacking up now...shoulder-high (the proof of which is my being able to purchase a pair of Quadstar-Carbon Boots with comsumate ease from a 'proper' skate-shop).

I eventually threatened legal-action and it was only at that stage that my order cancellation was confirmed via the KLARNA App.

At no time did I get an apology from MTS or incompetent-Kate (no surprise there). Kate couldn't organise a root in a brothel with a fistful of fiftys.

So, this place is a definite "CAVEAT-EMPTOR' wrt any and all purchases. The fact that they operate as a 'drop-ship' store is buried in the their T&C's and still vague when you do find it.

If anyone is having problems with them, please contact me and I'll assist you in getting a refund. The sooner business like these with utterly shoddy-customer service are highlighted, the sooner they will go 'under'....which is the best place for them IMHO

Brilliant service. Today I travelled 100 mile round trip and I spent two and half hours in the shop trying on skates until i found the perfect ones. There is a huge selection and the owners are extremely friendly and very knowledgeable (and also very patient!) There is no way i could have chosen the right skates online as i needed the professional advice around fitting. Chi even fitted my new bearings and flashy wheels and showed me how to change them myself. I would absolutely recommend this fantastic family run business.

If I could give zero stars I would - Do not shop with this company. If you have any issues, they'll just ignore you then say therenis only one person manning the emails and they're understaffed and overworked.

Was initially really happy with the service and customer service was great, normally getting back to enquries and questions within 24 hours. They were really helpful with my questions etc.

However, I emailed with a faulty product and was emailed back within 24 hours to tell me my skates were well loved and it was wear and tear even though they had never seen this issue before. (pretty weird to say it's wear and tear when you admitted you'd never seen this before)

I had also email the manufacturers who make the skates at the same time who got back to me saying the skates are 100% faulty and this shouldn't be happening - they asked me to email the company I bought them from to let them know I had faulty skates and if Momma truckers could send a new pair the manufacturer would compensate them for the ones their sending out. Win win for everyone 💪

I contacted momma truckers again with this info and CC the person I'd been speaking to from the manufacturer into the email (as they had asked) and waited for a reply! Three days had passed and I hadn't gotten a reply back, which I found strange but I know places can become busy so I just resent the email and even asked if they can't help please let me know so I can go back to the manufacturer.

I have had no further contact from Momma Truckers after the company who makes the skates confirmed they are faulty, it has been weeks- I'm disappointed in this as they've had confirmation and would even be compensated.

I left a review on their Facebook in which I was told, there was only one person dealing with email - Apparently that makes it acceptable to not get back to a customer for 26 days. They then assumed and told me, I wasnt using toe covers (I was) so it was my fault and that now that the manufacturers have said the item is faulty they're more than willing to help. (clearly didn't care before hand)

They also told me
"We understood that the initial email we received from you was asking what you could do to prolong the life of the skates, it wasn’t clear that you thought they were faulty."

Nowhere in my email did I ask about prolonging the life of the skates, they have again made assumptions when I had asked is there anything that can be done as there were giant cracks in my skates.

I've also noticed there replies to negative reviews to be very unprofessional and dismissive.

Very helpful when they're taking your money, not so much if you have any issues.

Terrible customer service. After having an order outstanding since last year and countless of emails asking if they're in stock. But the lack of communication and no response back to emails, is just rude and unprofessional. Very disappointed, as I like to support a small bussiness, whenever I can. But tAffraid I won't be using this company in the future.

Amazing! Definitely going to buy again! Bought a blue sfr skate bag and arrived really fast! Where really kind on the phone and extra: Came with cool stickers and a badge. The packaging was so cute as well 5 STARS recommended

Had yet another fantastic trip to Momma truckers, after some quads that would withstand being lobbed around the skate park and eventually Derby. We were given fantastic advice as always, and will definitely be back soon. Thanks again!

Such a lovely welcoming shop. I’m so glad I visited instead of ordering online. I would have never picked a size 5 for my 6.5 (highstreet shoe size) feet. The shop attendants were so lovely. They had so much time for me, went through some tips and best practices. I will be back and recommend anyone to pop along and see them. Moxi’s next. 😃 Thank you super amounts.

I ordered from the company & the original reason for contacting them was just to understand what the go with my order was. I waited 2 days after my initial message on their website chat tool to then write an email. After still not hearing back I went to Facebook.
The employee in charge of emails has a very Curt and rude manner, which I pointed out.
After finding out what was going on with the order the employee added snide remarks about myself and who I am as a person. So I decided to get a refund and be done with the company.
However, I received another email from the employee which quite frankly was appalling customer service - she was offensive and insisted on insulting me and my mannerisms.
I brought this to the owners attention and they stated the employee had some personal issues going on.
Whilst I empathise with personal situations this wasn’t the time or the place for them. It is a business environment.

I still wasn’t happy with the level of customer service so I left a review. Whilst this to them may have been unsavoury it wasn’t anything untrue. The owner and her friends then started what I can only describe as bullying. Asking me what I had done to warrant being spoken to like that, telling me that my type of person isn’t welcome down there (which seemed like an attack for being Scottish) and essentially telling me how god awful I was for expecting a business to be professional & understand that the review was based off the experience they had provided me & use it to identify issues such as communication with customers.

As someone who works in hospitality I would never dream of speaking to customers like that & I wouldn’t ever argue with someone in my business if they had expressed disappointment in my level of care.

My review is a reflection of how momma trucker skates have made me feel & they completely invalidated that.

I would 100% recommend!! Communication is a little slow how ever it is only 2 people and they are working around the clock in such a busy time so can’t expect much more but they really helped me they gave me great advice and actually made sure I had the right size skate as I was really struggling to decide on the size to go for. If they had just gone with what I had ordered I would have got the wrong size!!! So thank you so much for being attentive and helpful I’m so happy with my skates

I ordered luminous wheels in pink for my roller skates on 06/03 and they arrived in good time. I also received a nice email to say thank you for ordering from them on 08/03 which was lovely, but then I noticed one of the wheels wasn’t lighting up, I tried switching out the Dynamo, and made sure it was central but it definitely isn’t working, the rest are absolutely fine. So I emailed Momma Trucker on 17/03, they responded back on the same day to offer a solution about making sure the Dynamo was central or making sure it’s not too loose or too tight, and that it works when wearing, which I responded to saying that wasn’t the issue, that it is actually the wheel which isn’t working whilst wearing it too. I have not yet had a response back. I have emailed again after that, tweeted them, and messaged on Twitter. At first I thought I would give them some time to respond, seeing as they are a small business, but now it seems as if I’m being ignored, especially with how I’ve seen on here there is a sort of pattern. I understand it’s hard at the moment, but to not respond at all, isn’t great practice and just puts people off. I’m self employed myself, It’s just a little frustrating seeing as I’ve bought them and they’re not cheap, to have one not working and getting no response.

I received my pre-order boots a few days ago and I have nothing but praise for the 2 people who run this business.

As we all know at the moment, there is such a demand for skates as everyone has decided to take it up as a hobby during the lockdown.

Some of these skates are produced by hand on a line, and in any normal time would still take a while to complete someones order. Now put in the fact that a well known brand of rollerskates have an order list of over 20 thousand orders, AND put in the fact that they do not ship to the UK at the moment, but instead use UK distributers, as you can imagine, this would cause any UK business to stress because all they want to do is get the customers skates to them.

MTS provided nothing but updates whenever they could regarding my order and even threw in some extra goodies as a thank you for my patience.

I will continue to keep supporting this business in the future :) Thank you

This is one of the most helpful companies I have ever come across.
I bought a pair of moxi skates as a beginner and the owner went above and beyond to help with my query. She went through different techniques which would be suitable for anyone starting out and was extremely knowledgeable. I will definitely be using them again in the future.

Superb company, have placed a number of orders over this horrid pandemic time, and the customer service I've received would put a lot of larger companies to shame, great communication and management of expectation. You have a customer for life!
