My landlord put this tank in 5 years ago. I should have known it would be a problem when it took the technician 7.5 hrs to install it. The tank started leaking 6 months later and has leaked for all but 9 months since installation. My electric bill is astronomical and the tank heats up erratically whenever it feels like because it refuses to sync with the app. I hate this tank.

My boiler decided to have a minor breakdown!!! I called Mixergy and Ryan took over helping me get this problem sorted out. Ryan was absolutely brilliant going above and beyond sorting the problem out. Excellent customer service and support and he guided me through the process clearly and explained in great detail what would need to be done if this problem arose again. I am very impressed with the service provided.

I had a number of issues with a 210 Liters installed 4 months ago for a company LG Air Source Heat Pumps.
The installation has number of issues,
Flow and return pipes from the LG it was 28mm reduced to 22mm
22mm magnetic filter
2 x bypass valve
Under floor manifolds heating with the mixing valve
With out buffer tank.
The wiring it was complete chaos with wago terminals and wagoboxs
The out site insulation it was 28mm x 9mm
With out waterproof jacket
All the pipes and zones valve it was behind the Mixergy Cylinder
Etc .
With Abbas help and gui finally managed to get the issues resolved

I had the Mixergy 210 litre installed with a heat pump by British Gas in September. All was working well until I decide to take advantage of the fact the Mixergy says it’s smart tariff ready, and I moved to octopus agile. The tank, using the machine learning, now cycles on and off doing small heats in half hour windows, sometimes 7 in a day, instead of heating what it needs in one go.
Sadly the technical support said the tank wasn’t ready to be used in the way I am, even though it should. But due to being so busy they don’t know when the software will be fixed.
British Gas have been trying to help me sort it out but can’t get their call answered by the technical support contact they have been given to deal with these issues.
To summarise, it is a great tank but has issues if you want to use with a heat pump and a smart tariff, the company seems to be overstreched and this is affecting customer service.

I have had my mixergy boiler a 210 slim for 9 months. It is great and the app means i can set while i am out.

Had a very rocky start, made worse by British Gas not fully on board with the workings of the system and lack of communication between all concerned made it difficult. Not so now, Mixergy customer services have been more than accommodating in contacting me direct / advising and continuing to ensure my satisfaction. Thank you Ryan and wish you well for 2024.

The team have been extremely supportive in helping me to choose the right tank for my personal and household services. The era of the smart boiler has arrived! I have my Mixergy boiler on fully automatic control during the summer and during the winter when the solar PV is less reliable I have it programmed to take advantage of the battery storage and octopus cosy triple band prices. The boiler is really well integrated with my Daikin Altherma heat pump battery and PV. On initial installation I had some teething problems which were dealt with very professionally by Mixergy, and the installer, Evolve Energy Network.
In the summer the Mixergy/ heat pump setup provides lashings of free hot water via my PV array. I heat the tank 100% to 60c after filling a 12KWH battery. Any PV after that is sold back to the grid. My house is an 80s build bungalow in the north of Scotland, It was rated D on the home energy report and without adding anything to the building, I have went from D to A. In financial terms my house previously used £8 of energy per day, now it’s round about £1 per day, an astonishing saving! Mixergy’s Smart Boiler is at the heart of that system selling saving or using electricity as efficiently as possible.
I highly recommend this product.

DO NOT BUY FROM MIXERGY
We have had one issue to another, any installer who has come to help hasn’t been able to figure out the connections and when they call technical support there is no answer. After two years and we still have no hot water and are still being ignored on emails and phone calls. Dreadful service, and over priced tank that may be good but I wouldn’t know as it can’t be installed.
I’ve requested to return the tank so I can’t at least get an instant heater installed so we have hot water over winter and now I’m still being ignored.

Had a Mixergy tank fitted 6 months ago. Installation was straightforward and it has worked a treat. Has only gone offline once since installation and that was remedied by simply switching tank off and then on at mains. Love the ability to control the water on the app from anywhere. During summer the water was heated free of charge from the solar panels. It’s been a great choice for us. Thank you Mixergy.

I've now had my Mixergy hot water tank for over six months and the results are even better than my high expectations. I'd recommend Mixergy to anyone.

Here's my story.

ARRANGING INSTALLATION Having decided that Mixergy was for me, I approached two qualified installers. One didn't reply for ages then sent a generic email reply which told me they hadn't bothered to read my request. The second company was more accommodating but could not install for several months. Although our previous tank had failed and we were without hot water, we survived without hot water during this period.

INSTALLATION EXPERIENCE The tank was to be heated by a gas boiler. The installer couldn't work out the final step to send the "demand heat" control to the gas boiler but a capable friend worked out the simple control wiring advice and everything started working.

MIXERGY TANK EXPERIENCE Owning Mixergy is a delight. The tank brings smart intelligence to my hot water heating as the highly intelligent Mixergy actively controls my previously very unintelligent gas boiler. Before, we used to heat our old water tank and never had any idea how much hot water was within nor what temperature it was. For just two people we must have been heating so much water only for it to cool down before we used it all. Now I know exactly how much water we need and what is required to get that. We find that a mere 15% of hot water is more than sufficient for a shower so that's our daily overnight heating plan. If we need more we can boost easily, requesting this from wherever we are in the world (or by pressing a button on the tank).

The water does cool down through the day as it loses heat through the insulation and across the thermocline to the 85% of cold water in the tank. Losing up to 15% of hot water is brilliant compared to the 100% we used to lose. Honestly, Mixergy gives precision control that is a dream. It didn't take long to devise a heating plan that was just right for us.

Today we heat by gas but can easily switch to electricity or solar electricity in future if we choose. Not only do I have a great setup, but I know it is future proof.

MIXERGY SERVICE
As others have reported, it can be difficult to get through to support but once you connect support is top quality. I was a bit surprised that I should have a support contract. Support for a hot water tank? It's not pressurised (I have a header tank in the loft) so it was never serviced in the past. As I love my Mixergy so much, and it is new, I opted for remote support, via Internet, as it was the lower priced option. Keep this in mind as you forecast your cost savings.

SUMMARY
I'm really pleased with the product. It provides the hot water we require more quickly, I know and control exactly what is going on in the tank and it saves money.

Tank was great. Customer service was rubbish tank was in garage for 3 months waiting to be fitted, which took several calls to mixergy to arrange a fitting, that is when you could get someone to answer the phone that is.They finally fitted the tank three weeks ago and I'm still waiting for them to collect the old tank and as usual I've tried contacting mixergy over the phone about this at least 30 time in the last 2 weeks and can't get an answer - Useless.

We moved into our house last December with an old boiler and hot water tank. We replaced both. The hot water tank was a Mixergy installation over two days but what a difference to our energy bills. It has saved us hundreds of pounds. It is so efficient it knows when we have visitors and heats the right amount of water. I would highly recommend. This is the future of heating the amount of water you need and use.

Same as other, was a big believer in this technology. But the amount of hassle I've had since the installation really make to doubt my choice. Should have just stuck with a normal daikin tank instead.

Tank not sending correct information to ASHP. But at least the solar was charging the tank to 100%.

Installer came out with Mixergy support and confirmed all fixed and working, only to find 3 days after that the tank can now only be charged 20%. So can only warm 60L of warm water max.

Worst experience I've had with a product to date.

Had an issue with my tank being offline, Mixergy Support Team were brilliant in helping me resolve this problem. Spoke to their technical guys who took me through step by step and got me back online in no time. Excellent service to back up an excellent product!

Now had the cylinder all most 12 months
Due to house upgrade work this review has been slow coming. Plus it has given me time to experience its use.
I have been a little disappointed with the temperature hold up time and I appreciate that there is a limit to how much insulation can be installed in a commercial product. Before the winter i propose to surround the cylinder with extra insulation.
The setup i have is heatpump and none Mixergy panel diverter.
Both work well in terms of heating the cylinder but there are things that i would like to see implemented in the software.
when the diverter is heating water the stratification pump seems to cut off early leaving 62deg water at the top of the tank but not through the tank, so scalding water to start but is not long lived.
Through sunny days (yes we get them in Scotland)
the cylinder heats up to above the disinfection temp but the software doesn't seem to recognise this and STILL does the Friday night disinfection cycle!
I have taken the programme off learning and programmed in heating periods to coincide with Octopuses cosy tariff to be able to operate in the cheap rates, other wise there is no indication that the software chooses the cheapest times of day.

Moved into a home that had a Mixergy Smart Tank fitted, didn't have a clue what to do with it!
Contacted Mixergy, the tech guy talked me through everything, even remotely helping me create an account, now I can access with their app, whenever I want.
Honestly, other companies should look at Mixergy customer service, because THAT is how to treat a customer!! 10/10, 11/10 if I could!!

I heard about Mixergy tanks nearly two years ago. In wanting to find out more about them, I rang them up to find out how on earth it worked. I spoke to a really helpful person who explained how it had been developed by two guys at Oxford as a result of their DPhils. I love the way it works - so simple! At that point, it was so successful that Birmingham City Council were insalling them into their rental properties. I was pretty reassured by this.

Roll on 2023 and I'm now in a position where hopefully, I'll have my new tank installed soon - builders are booked for next month. I thought I'd have a quick Google to see how this very small company is doing. Seems like it's going stratospheric; even British Gas are now using them!! No wonder there's the odd comment saying they have a bit of a delay in getting hold of customer service etc, they must be so busy! Really looking forward to installing one. I'm going to make it high priority for my builders who are doing various things in the house, inc replacing my decades old copper hot water tank :)

Anybody thinking of installing one and your plumber has no idea how to do it, Mixergy also told me that they provide the training required so your plumber will know exactly what to do.
